You need to manage your upload speed to keep your internet connection under control. Share too much and you will have trouble browsing.

As far as covering your tracks, if you use firefox 2.0, you just choose clear private data from the tools menu and make sure you check "saved form and search history"

No, modern P2P doesn't slow your computer down. And unless you're an idiot, you won't get any spyware.
Bittorent and cheggit works perfect.

Download the best bittorent client at www.utorrent.com (if you have worthless clients like Bitcomet or Bitlord, REMOVE THEM and install uTorrent), then just google for cheggit.
Remember, with few exception, using Kaazaa, Emule, Shareeaza and so in is stupid, and extremely slow. Unless you know what you're doing, you'll probably end up with a hundred viruses if you use them. uTorrent and cheggit is very secure, i've never seen a video containing a virus or something like that.

Removing cache and so on is easily made using Firefox. If you don't know anything about computers, iee. you're using Internet Explorer, download Firefox at www.getfirefox.com. Whenever you want to erase what you have done on the internet, just press CTRL-SHIFT-DEL. A window pops up, mark everything you want to remove, then press OK.
That would remove most proof of you being on internet. Unless someone is very good at computers and knows where to look, your secret is safely removed
