The lavender haired man gasped, leaping aside to avoid a blue orb of incandescent power that burst into a small explosion. He rolled with the shockwave, using it ro propel him forward, throwing a leaping punch at the head of his smaller sparring partner. The small man just laughed, "Is that the best you can do?" Even as his attacker reached him, the smaller warrior threw up a hand...only to have it pass through the fading image. "What?"

A hearbeat later, a powerful shoulder check sent the small man flying, his taller opponent rocketing into him from seemingly out of nowhere. He hit the far wall hard, falling to the ground and slowly rising. "Actually, I haven't even started yet." The man who spoke was about half a foot taller than his foe, with a muscular and well toned body that remained graceful rather than bulky. Hair of pale lavender was parted int he midddle, the top and his bangs noticably longer than the rest, his eyes a fierce blue. He was wearing a black tank top, with loose black pants. Though he was a few years away from thirty, he looked barely twenty years old. Taking up a new fighting stance, he smiled. "Now...are we just playing today or are we going to get serious?"

The small fighter was already on his feet. He was short with a ripped and rock hard physique. He had let his hair grow out again, much to his daughter's consternation, a tall spikey mass that defied gravity as it jutted out above his head. His eyes were black as coal, though they seemed to burn with momentary fury at being so surprised. There was an ageless quality about him, and a regal carriage that seemed to contrast his height. "Serious, boy?" "You should be careful what you ask for!" There was a burst of light from him, as gold seemed to flicker through his hair, and he let out a loud waycry...

The lights in the craft's open, spacious cockpit were low, set that way to suit the pilot's mood. He sat in one of two chairs in front of a large console, various controls blinking and a few screens lit up. As he worked, a tone sounded, followed by a soothing feminine voice, "Young master, your mother is calling you." "Should I put it through?"

"No." Trunks Briefs stood up from where he had been working. "I don't want to hear what she has to say." "How close are we to launch?"

"Five minutes, young master." The voice then paused, "Oh my..it would appear as though I am being overridden." "Priority call imminent."

"Oh, man...."

Another screen flickered to life, this one showing two remarkable beautiful women on it. There was no doubt from even a casual glance that they were related, both shared the same pale green hair, the same blue eyes that he had, the same lovely face, though one could tell that one was older than the other. "TRUNKS!" "What are you doing!" The older woman's eyes blazed, the man cringing at the fury in her voice. "I demand an explanation!"

"Mom, it's nothing to get-"

"Don't you tell me it's nothing to get upset over!" "I come in this morning to visit you only to find that you've put your sister in charge of the company and taken an indefinite leave of absence, all without telling ME!" She slammed her hands down on her own console, making both her daughter and son jump.

"Mom," Trunks started, "You've been saying that you wanted to get Bra more involved in Capsule Corporation, and she's smart enough to handle the job." "The thing is-"

Bulma cut her son off with another snarl, "Don't you throw my own words back at me, young man!" "Bra has almost NO experience doing anything but shopping and tanning, and you're putting her in charge of the largest corporation in the world!" "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??"

Bra sniffed, dressed not in her usual skimpy attire but a red suit jacket and skirt combo. "He's fine, Mom." "I can handle it, besides Trunks asked Gohan and Goten to help me out, and-"

"Neither of whom has EVER run a mulit-billion zeni business!" "Gohan's a scholar not a business man!" Bulma then snickered, "And Goten?" "I like the kid, but he's never done a damn thing in his life!"

"That's not true!" Trunks thought he said it, but it appeared his sister had actually beaten him to the punch. Her hands were clenched into fists and as she glared at thier mother fiercely. "Goten's got plenty of good ideas, he just needs someone to kick him in the butt and do something with them!"

Trunks eased back into his seat, his hands flying as he punched in coordinates for his first destination. Behind him, Bra and Bulma were now getting into an arguement over Goten. Which suited him fine, that gave him all the more time to get out unnoticed. A light began to flash under the screen, and he smiled. Speak of the devil...

He flicked on another screen, muting the first one as his mother and sister ranted at each other. "Goten!" "Tell me you're having second thoughts about coming along!"

The screen flickered to life, a young man looking the same age as Trunks on it. He had spiky black hair that came down to his shoulders, having decided to grow it out again a few months ago. His face was handsome and kind, though there was a roguish cast to it, and his dark eyes glimmered with amusement. "Sorry, Trunks." "Just wanted to let you know that I finished stowing everything, and wish you a good trip."

Trunks leaned back in the chair, "Come on, Goten." "You can use the training and I can use the company." "Do you really want to be around with my Mom comes down on you?" "She's gonna, you know." "She's going to figure out where I am any second."

Outside the craft, Goten laughed, turning to face the sleek silver space craft. In his hand was the communicator he was using to speak to Trunks. The vessal looked little like the bulbous ship he was supposed to go on years ago with Trunks and his father. Almost like a giant silver manta ray. "Yeah, I know." On a hill behind them was the expanded Son compound, home to the small but remarkable family. "Besides, I get to play advisor to one of the most powerful people in the world, not to mention getting plenty of time to work on Bra without you around."

Trunks laughed briefly, "Yeah, but Father will be there." "I'd be careful around him, Goten, you know protective he is of her." "And that he can royally kick your butt."

Goten shrugged, "It's worth the risk." He was quiet a second, then spoke up again. "Dude, are you sure you want to do this?" "I mean, I know you and Vegeta had a big fight and all, but..."

The blue eyed half-saiyan's face fell. "It was more than that Goten..."

Trunks, his hair golden, his frame filled with raging power, shot forward, throwing a barrage of punches at her father. The diminutive Vegeta easily side stepped each one, a look of anger on his face. "Come on, boy!" Vegeta's hair was golden as well, but in the shimmering aura that surrounded him were threads of lightning, and his hair was taller and even spikier. "You're pathetic!"

Trunks snarled, and leaped back. "I'm not through yet!" "Eat this!" "HAH!" He threw his hands forward, unleashing a beam of coruscating golden energy. The bolt shot toward Vegeta, who merely watched it come. At the last moment, he put up a hand, the energy beam hitting it and deflecting into a dozen smaller rays, each blasting sections of the wall, leaving the saiyan warrior unharmed. Then he shook his head, the golden aura fading and turned to leave. "Father, what are you doing?" Trunks strode forward, still flowing with power, "We're not done."

"Yes we are." Vegeta's back was to his son, but his voice was thick with disgust. "After all this time, this is all you've improved...it's sickening to see." Trunks stopped in his tracks, his mouth falling open. "When you were a boy, and already a Super Saiyan, I was proud." "I excepted such things from you...and you have disappointed me greatly." "You were to be a warrior, my heir as the Prince of All Saiyans...and instead you're a glorified pencil pusher." "Your technique is rusty, and your power level has barely changed in three years." "You've never even gotten close to ascending to the next level..."

"Father...I...Capsule Corp, as president I've done a lot for the company." "That has to count for something."

Vegeta spat, then spoke once more. "All it means is you followed your mother's dreams instead of mine." "She may be proud of you, son...but your weakness, your few meager attempts at training...insults me." "How many times have I told you to increase your training?" "That you need to become stronger?" "Yet this is all you can do." "You can't even offer me a decent workout." "You're as bad as that worthless goldbrick Goten." Vegeta then walked out the door, leaving the stunned Trunks behind. "Cease your training and devote yourself to your business, boy." "Your ineptness as a warrior is too pathetic for me to watch anymore."

Trunks open his eyes, and his voice was full of hurt and anger. "...A lot more than just an arguement." "I am weak, Goten...not to mention foolish." "I've been ignoring half of my life." "I am the Prince of the Saiyans...and I'm one of the weakest ones."

Goten shook his head, "Trunks, don't buy into your Dad's crap." "He's just mad 'cause your Mom isn't putting out or something, I know it."

"Damn it, Goten!" "No, it's not!" "I heard the contempt in his voice!" Trunks rose to his feet, slamming his fist into the other chair, sending it shooting across the cockpit to slam into the wall. "He's disgusted by me...disappointed in me." "I let him down..." His voice trailed off, and he sat down once more, his shoulders slumping. "He's right too...I haven't gotten as good as I should have." "Especially since Goku's gone...we all need to be as strong as we can in case something bad happens...I've irresponsible not to see that."

Goten rolled his eyes, knowing his friend wasn't going to listen to anything more on that line. "Okay, maybe you're right, but this is kind of extreme, you know?" "Shooting yourself into space and training until you think you're strong enough to return?" "I mean...it's just...dude, Trunks, it's crazy!"

"It's how he got strong." Trunks still hadn't looked up at the screen again, his face in his hands. "He traveled the cosmos after Frieza's defeat, striving and testing his limits...and he transcended." "He became a Super Saiyan." "I'll do the same, seek out the worst places, the harshest trials, ascend to Super Saiyan 2, maybe beyond that...and when I return...he'll be proud of me again."

Goten sighed, "Yeah...Trunks...nah, forget about it." "Be careful out there, man." "I'll miss you." "You'll call right?"

Trunks looked up, grateful that Goten was letting it go. "Yeah, I will." "I just wish you'd come along."

Goten shrugged. "You know...a lot of what you say about training makes sense to me." "I mean, the only things I'm good at are playing the field and fighting...and I've let my fighting go to pot." "I think I'm going to start training again...maybe look up Dende, see if he'd let me use the stuff on the Lookout." "It's just...man, all that time away from Earth and the ladies...it's just not me." He then got a smirk, "You should've asked Pan." "She'd have said yes."

Trunks frowned at Goten. Goten was always pushing him to visit Pan, to take her out. Not that Trunks didn't want to...that would actually be pretty cool. But he just...he just couldn't. He didn't have any of Goten's smoothness. "Yeah...then I'd have to tell Gohan and Videl, since we'd be launching from their backyard." "Hey guys, I'm going into space for a long training journey and I was wondering if I could take your hot, barely legal daughter along as my only companion." Trunks laughed, "Gohan would be fine, but Videl would kill me." "Then she'd tell Chi Chi, who would kill me again." "Although...it would be...uh, never mind."

Goten started laughing, causing Trunks to blush faintly. Then he just sighed, "Yeah, yeah." "Laugh it up." "When I get back from this trip, I'm so kicking you ass."

Goten snorted, "Yeah, right." "I'll be waiting for you, pal." "You better train up, 'cause if you don't, you won't have to worry about Vegeta."

Trunks snorted, "Yeah?" "Sounds like a challenge to me."

Goten grinned, "You bet your ass." "You go and train all lonely and crazy in space, and I'll train here." "I bet you 20 zeni that when I get back, I whup your butt all over the country side."

"You've got a bet, man." Trunks stood up, giving the Goten on-screen five to seal the deal. "Am I ready to launch?"

Goten nodded, "Almost." "Go ahead and finish the set-up, I'll let you know when you're good to go."

Trunks nodded, turning the chair back to the console, looking away from Goten. "Roger that." Behind him, Goten nodded, then turned and gave a waving "go" sign to someone off screen. Turnks made a few more adjustments, then felt someone staring at him. He quirked an eyebrow, then gasped. He turned to the right, eyes wide with fear. On the muted viewscreen, Bulma was staring in silent fury at the young half-saiyan, his sister slowly creeping out of the room behind her. "Oh crap...I forgot to unmute it..." Trunks reached out, hitting the mute off button, trying to put a smile on his terrified face, "Uh, heh heh...sorry about that Mom, must've hit the mute button my mistake..."

"Mistake?" Bulma's voice snapped out like a physical blow, making him flinch back. "MISTAKE!" "Mister, you don't know the meaning of the word, but you're gonna find out!" "I have had it with this crap!" "Get your butt out of the vehicle bay and get over here right now!" "If I have to come down there, I am gonna make you wish you'd never been born!"

Trunks then grinned, a bit guiltily. "Uh, you see, Mom...I'm, uh, not actually in the vehicle bay." "I'm, uh, at Goten's."

Behind him he heard Goten moan, "Dude!" "You sold me out!"

"WHAT?" The ship actually shook with her voice, "You went out there just so I couldn't stop you, didn't you, you little punk!"

Goten yelled in the background, "You're all clear, Trunks!" "Blast off!"

"Thanks, Goten!" Trunks closed the line, and smiled at his mother as the ship began to shake with the initial ascent, building to escape velocity. "Sorry, Mom, I've got to go." "If I don't pay attention I could hit a mountain!" "Love you, bye!" He turned the screen off before she could speak again, grasping the controls as the ship shot into the clear blue sky.

The blue went on for minutes, darkening as he went higher up, to navy, to violet, to purple, until his sleek craft burst out of the atmosphere into black space. Trunks sighed with relief, pushing his chair back. "Man...poor Goten, Mom's going to kill him." "So's his mom, come to think of it." "Maybe I should just stay in space rather than go back to that."

He took a deep breath. No. That was the kind of thinking that had lead to this. To him being such a disappointment. He had to be stronger than that. "Father...I will make you proud." He stood, "Better change into my training clothes." "Ship, is the course set?"

"Yes, young master." "Course plotted for New Namek."

"Good." He paused a few minutes to look out the window as Mars passed by. Space...it was so quiet. Last time Goku was here...and Pan. It had been so noisy, and so much fun. Now he was all alone...in a way he'd never been before. "It's better this way." "No one to answer to myself." Even as he said it, he knew it wasn't true. He could almost feel his father watching him. "Yeah...all alone...come on galaxy, let's see what you can throw at me."

With that he went into one of the bunks, the other having been installed for Goten, and began to get ready for his first training session.

Pan supresses her powerlevel as she sneaks along the Son compound towards the craft Trunks is taking into space. She's angry at Trunks for asking her Uncle Goten but not asking her, but she will not be left behind. Pan easily slips past Goten as he talks to Trunks, then sprints up the ramp as it closes just before Trunks takes off. Pan hears Bulma yelling at Trunks and laughs softly, but when she hears Trunks' voice a strange feeling washes over her making her blush softly. She backs into a corner to brace herself as the ship lifts off and to hide from Trunks for now. Once they are out of the atmosphere Pan hurries to the bunk that was meant for her uncle, so as not to be discovered by Trunks as he goes to his bunk to start training.

Trunks entered the small room, already feeling a little lonely. He looked about the curved walls and sighed, "Better get used to this view." There was a "window" that looked out into space, and the young half-sayian took a few moments to look out of it, watching as the craft now shot through the asteroid belt heading toward Jupiter. "So far already..."

"Enough moping." "It's time to train." Trunks went to the closet, and slid the door open. He undressed quickly, not bothering to shut the door, he was alone, after all. His clothes were tossed on the floor near the bed, and he stood naked as he pulled out the garments he would wear to train and set them ont he bed. He nodded once, then dressed once more. The new outfit was identical to the one his father had worn to fight Cell and the androids, a blue bodysuit, white boots and gloves, and an armored vest.

Once dressed he walked out into the main area once more. He started to head back to the training area when he noticed that the door to the second room was closed. "...I don't remember closing that." He couldn't feel anyone else on board...was it just his imagination? He walked over to the door, and considered opening it. "...Nah, being alone like this is just making me paranoid."

Then he turned and walked back to the training area. This took up the largest part of the ship, and the centerpiece of it was a sealed round room. A gravity chamber like the kind his father trained with on Earth, and had used in space. "Ship, please activate the chronometer in the gravity chamber, and once I am inside and have sealed the door, increase the gravity to..." His father trained with 300gs normally. "Increase gravity to 400g to start, 500g after 20 minute warm up."

He then entered the chamber, and went to the controls. he had to seal off the chamber completely while the gravity was raised. Otherwise there would be catastrophic results. Luckily, if anyone tried to enter, the gravity would revert to 1g instantly. Just as a failsafe.

Pan hears and feels Trunks' prescence in the next room as he changes, she sits next to the door, trying to think of some way to surprise Trunks and not have him get angry at her for sneaking onboard again. Her thoughts are broken as she hears Trunks approach the door to the room she's in, she looks around frantically for somewhere to hide. When Trunks just walks away she sighs in relief and once he's far enough away she slips out of the room to follow him. Pan stays just outside the gravity chamber as Trunks starts his training.

The door to the gravity chamber closed with a nearly silent hiss, then a louder chorus of heavy thunks as bolts locked into position to seal the entrance. Machinery in the thick walls of the chamber hummed to life, going through three systems checks before actually going online.

Trunks stood in the middle of the room, clenching his hands into fists, then uncleanching them, focusing his will. His body felt heavy even without the gravity, a result of the clothes he wore. Rather than being made for protection as his father's armor was, this suit was made for training. The thin material of the blue bodysuit alone weighed twenty pounds, fifty in each boot, fifteen in the gloves, and the armored breastplate another fifty. The weight itself was no problem for one of his strength, but it made his movements a bit awkward, he was unaccostomed to the new drag. But it would make the gravity training that much more intense, more punishing, and more effective. Provided it didn't kill him.

The machines had reached a steady hum, and a tone sounded, signaling that the gravity engine was about to activate. The sudden surge of force caused the young half-saiyan's knees to buckled, and he cried out, surprised even though he knew it was coming. The pull downward was so strong, so sudden, and unrelenting. Fighting an opponent, there were pauses, hesitations, moments where the pressure lifted and you could catch your breath. The murderous force of gravity never tired, relentlessly and tirelessly applying it's power. Never weakening, or getting fatigued...in a way, an ultimate sparring partner.

Trunks gritted his teeth, straining to stand up straight. "NNnnn...heavier...than I thought..." He took a step forward, even the motion of assuming a simple stance taking a hideous amount of effort. He was tempted to go super...it would be so much easier then...

But easy wasn't what he was here for. "...Good...that should make things...faster." "One way or another." With a forceful shout, Trunks launched a punch into the empty space. As his arm shot forward, he could feel the terrible pull yanking it off course, his mighty muscles screaming as he forced the blow to fly true. He pulled the arm back, punching out with the other, then spun forward and began a series of kicks, sweat already standing out on his brow.

On the outside wall on the gravity chamber, near the door was a monitor console. It could function in a one-way or two-way mode, depending on which buttons were pushed. Above the screen a green light gleamed, indicating that the room was occupied nad activated. Next to it was a blue light, indicating that the monitor was ready for use.

Pan puts her ear to wall and listens to the machines as they start up. Once the machines activate she hears Trunks' muffled voice as he talks to himself, then his screams. Her eyes go wide in concern as she hears Trunks scream even though she knows deep down inside that he will do fine. Pan looks up as the lights on the wall light up, she slowly reaches for the buttons to turn on the monitor. As she presses the button her hand slips and she accidentally turns it on to two-way mode instead of one-way.

"Hhhhh-YAH!" Trunks exploded into action, racing forward and delivering a lightning fast combination of kicks and strikes to his holographic opponent. As the tall humanoid holo stumbled back, Trunks stepped up its right knee before throwing himself into a backflip kick, his feet catching the thing under its featureless chin. He grimaced as he hit the ground hard, then sprang up past the airborne creature, slamming his joined hands down on it to send it hurtling back down to the hard metallic floor.

Trunks grunted once more at the jarring impact of his fall, feeling his muscles screaming with how hard they were being worked, his bones jolted by the sudden and devestating force of his landings. He fell to one knee, his opposite hand on the floor as he panted, trying to recover his breath.

Suddenly he felt an odd sensation. Like he was aware of another presence...he didn't feel anyone else on the ship. But it felt like...like he was being watched. Out of the corner of his eyes, he could see the glow from the wall monitor. "Great." He struggled to stand, growling as he forced his body upright in the hideous pull of the gravity well. "Guess you broke through my ecryption to yell at me after all, huh Mom?" "Well, save it." "I'm not going back on this." He turned to face the monitor, face serious, if a bit pained. "I've got to become-what?"

The face that was looking at him was not the one he expected. She was lovely, true, a young beauty that was both hard and soft at once. Black locks crept out from under the orange bandana that was tied about her head, and her large dark eyes were warm pools that he could drown in if he wasn't careful. He found himself feeling suddenly nervous, but unwilling to look away from her unexpected visige.

"Pan?" He breathed her name at first, astonished and entranced by how stunningly attractive the girl had become, then he recovered a bit. "Pan!" "What...How did you hack my ship's communication system?" His blue eyes went suddenly wide. The closed door. The feeling he wasn't alone. The fact that this monitor only worked inside the ship. History repeats, he'd heard it said. "Wait a minute...you're not calling from Earth...you, you're here on the ship, aren't you?" "You stowed away again?" The idea came along with a complex swirl of emotions, but one stood out. "Aw, man...Videl's going to kill me."

Pan watches Trunks train, admiring his determination. As she watches him though another feeling, one that had been dormant, now surfaces, making her blush softly. Pan gets so lost in her thoughts that she doesn't notice Trunks staring at her or hear him as he thinks he's talking to Bulma, but she comes too as Trunks complains about her stowing away again. Pan gives Trunks a kind of childish "I'm sorry." look as he says that Videl will kill him because she stowed away again.

Trunks sighed as Pan gave him the "puppy dog eyes." He was sure she was sorry...a little, but probably not much. Damn. This wasn't at all what he had in mind...or was it? He had thought about asking Pan to come along, but vetoed it because he knew Videl would say no. Really, this was just a permutation of his scenarios. Besides...Goten would surely say that there were advantages to being alone on a spaceship with a pretty girl.

She was pretty too. Her face was a work of art...every bit as lovely as her mother at that age, comparing to the pictures he'd seen of Chi Chi as a teenager. He came back to his senses, realizing that he'd been silently staring at her for the last thirty seconds.

He raised a hand, struggling to do so in the heavy gravity. "Don't give me that look, Pan." "We both know you're not that sorry." He began to laboriously walk toward the door to the gravity chamber, "Maybe I should apologize...after Goten turned me down, I thought about asking you to join me, but I knew your mom would say no." He hit a button by the door that deactivated the gravity increase, letting out a breath of relief as the strain on his body ceased. "Either way, you're here now." "We'll just have to figure out what we do from here."

The door irised open and Trunks stepped out, turning to get his first look at Pan in several years...

Pan feels self-conscious as Trunks just stares at her, when he scolds her she pouts slightly. Pan turns to face the door as Trunks turns off the gravity and exits the chamber. She smiles wide as he walks out.

"Hiya Trunks." she says, "Sorry about sneaking onboard again, but you should know me by now. If I want to do something, I do it, no matter what people say."

Trunks sighed as he stepped ito the hallway, despite the relief at the decrease in gravity. What a difference! "Yeah, I know." "Never has been anyone who could tell you what...to...do..." His voice trailed off as he came around the curve of the found chamber and got a good look at her.

She was taller than he expected, but that wasn't what really got his attention. Her scrawny legs had lengthened and become fleshed out, now, shapely, curved just right. The tight blue jeans she wore only accentuated their tantalizing lines. She wore a short red t-shirt, the kind that left her mid-riff bare, her smooth skin stretched taut over the tight, hard muscles of her abdomen. Her bosom looked pert and firm, jutting out into the air, demanding to be noticed and desired.

He blushed brightly, then jerked his eyes away fromt hier contemplation of her very adult body. "Uh...Y-you don't need to apologize, Pan." "Really." He raised his hands in front of him, "I'm not going to get mad about it...just figure out how to deal with you being here." "Come on...let's grab a drink."

He led the way to the main room, down a ladder (Trunks had to work hard to keep from looking up at her going down it) to the small kitchen. The space was small, largely because of all the appliances and the vast qualtity of food on board. He'd stocked it with himself and Goten in mind, after all. Trunks grabbed a pop and pulled a chair up to the small table. "Help yourself, Pan." He opened the fizzy drink, not yet drinking. "The thing is Pan, this isn't like the last time." "We had a mission, an important one...but we came at it with a sense of fun and adventure...and this trip isn't about fun."

His voice was serious, his blue eyes burning with fury and hurt over what had happened with Vegeta. "I left Earth to train in space, the way my father did after Freiza's defeat on Namek." "Gravity machines, hostile aliens, foreign environments...whatever it takes to make me stronger...to get me to the next level." "Even if it kills me...see, that's the key." "I made this trip with a good chance in mind that...that I wouldn't be coming back." "Heck, the computer actually won't allow the ship to get anywhere near Earth until at least three months have passed!"

Trunks was quiet a moment. "If you came to have another fun space adventure...you're out of luck, Pan." "Sorry." "I came here to become strong enough to earn my father's...to get strong, anyway...or die out here where I won't shame anyone." He leaned back in his chair, "I asked Goten to come because, well, he needs the training as much as I do, and so I would have someone to spar with." He watched her for a moment, his eyes narrowing a bit. "You're still hiding your power...but you aren't a Super Saiyan, so you're not as strong as Goten." "But you are very powerful, and a really good fighter." "If you'd like...you can train with me...spar with me." "What do you say?"

Pan smiles softly as Trunks speaks. When Trunks' voice trails off she blushes softly and notices that he is looking her over. Pan is slightly shocked when Trunks speaks again because she realizes that she was looking him over as well. Pan smiles again and follows Trunks when he heads to the kitchen for a drink. Pan grabs a soda after Trunks gets his and she sits on the edge of the table as he talks. She feels glad that he can share all this with her and proud when he offers to let her train with him.

"I'd love to train with you Trunks." She says. "Who knows I could become as strong as you. Just don't take it easy on me, I may surprise you if you don't try your hardest." says Pan, only half-joking.

Trunks smirked, "As strong as me?" "Hmmm...maybe you could." "Both Goku and my father were a lot older than you when they became Super Saiyans...and given your family's pedigree I can't rule it out that you can reach that level as well."

The smirk then became more Vegeta-like. "Let me correct that." "You may be able to become as powerful as I am...right now." "But you won't catch up to me." "I am the Prince of all Saiyans, after all." "But I won't underestimate you...that's how you beat Goten at the World Tournament all those years ago." "He didn't take you seriously...I will not make that mistake."

He could see her bristle at the arrogant stance he'd assumed, the presumption of his voice. Wow...it felt kind of...good to be a jerk like his father. Well, not all the time. Just every now and then. He also took note of how her chest heaved as she got more annoyed with him.

Trunks held up his hands. "Relax, I'm kidding." "...Mostly." "I am the Saiyan Prince...and if I can help it...I won't be weaker than anyone except my father and yours, ever again."

"So...do you want to start now?" "If you'd like, I could show you around the ship too...it's a good idea to know where everything is." "I should also tell you that our first destination is New Namek." "We should be there in a week."

Pan smiles as Trunks agrees that she might be able to become as powerful as he is. Her eyes narrow and she looks away once Trunks starts to act like his father, she hates it when he does that. Pan relaxes just a little when Trunks says he's kidding. She finishes her soda as Trunks asks if she wants to go ahead and start training or if she wants him to give her a tour.

"I already know what the ship is like Trunks. Let's start our training." Pan says, smiling.

Trunks grinned, "I should have expected that." "You always want to get right to the fighting, Pan." He guzzled down his drink, tossing the can into the recycling chute. "I like that about you." "A lot."

He got up and moved past her so she wouldn't see the faint blush on his cheeks. Damn, that was annoying him. What was wrong with him? He couldn't look at her for long or even flirt a little without blushing. She must have thought he was thinking some awfully naughty things. Of course, he was...but he didn't have to let it show on his face!

Trunks climbed back up, leading the way back to the gravity chamber. "I should ask if you want a suit like I'm wearing." He looked back at her, mentally trying to guess her measurements. "I have a machine on board to make more, since I know I'm going to go through them fast." "All I'd have to do is put in your...ah...data, and it would do the rest."

As he spoke he plugged int he new setting to the gravity machine. They should spar at 1g first...just to see how matched they were, then add more gees in subsequent bouts. "Your call...if you want to go without for now, the room's ready for our first match."

Pan smiles as Trunks as he talks about her and says he likes that she likes to get right to fighting. She follows him up to the gravity chamber, she blushes as she notices how the suit Trunks wears shows off his muscles. Pan notices Trunks looking her over a bit as he talks about getting her a suit like his and she blushes again.

"Nah, let's just start our training." says Pan, then she starts to do her stretches.

"Ummm," Trunks responded, quite distracted by her stretching. He then blinked, turning away before she noticed. He hoped he turned before she noticed anyway. If he wasn't careful, she'd be creeped out enough to make him take her back to Earth immediately.

"Er, I mean, that's fine." "I feel like I've waited long enough for this as it is." Trunks too began to stretch, though being that he had just been working out, he was already pretty loose. "This room is heavily shielded, but just so you know, it's not going to stand up to a full energy blast." "I figured we could fight like that on a planet." "So you don't have to be careful with me, but do be careful with the ship." "For all our power, it's the only thing keeping us alive right now."

Trunks turned to face her then, a Vegeta-like smirk on his face. "All right...I'm ready." He settled into a stance, his face becoming serious, as it usually did when he fought. "Come on, Pan." "Show me what you've got."

Pan blushes softly as she stretches, feeling Trunks' eyes on her body. She stands and follows Trunks into the gravity chamber.

"I understand." she says as Trunks explains about the ship.

Pan smiles and gets into her stance too.

Trunks's eyes narrowed slightly. Well...making him come to her. Seemed she'd inherited that part of the Son family fightin style well enough. "Good." "All right...let's go!"

He shot across the room, faster than most humans could see, throwing a right hook that could shatter steel. Pan caught it effortlessly with a block, knocking the punch aside, using the momentum to spin around into a roundhouse kick. Trunks stopped the powerful blow with his left forearm, not even moving a bit despite the force of it.

For a moment, the two combatants looked into each other's eyes, probing, searching for a sign of their next move. Then, almost as if cued, they exploded into action. Flurries of punches and kicks were met with blocks and dodges, followed by counter attacksm,, as the two leaped, ducked, and battled about the large, round room.

Trunks had expected this kind of ferocity from her, but her level of skill was surprising. She'd been training, and training hard. Who had been teaching her? Gohan? Videl? Chi Chi? His eyes widened as he saw an opening, he ducked a kick, and punched...

The ship trembled slightly from the impact. In the middle of the gravity room, Pan and Trunks stood still for a moment. Each was leaning forward with their legs, their upper bodies pushed back. His right fist had made contact with her cheek, but at the same time, she had landed a punch on his as well.

They sprang back, landing about twenty feet apart. Trunks brushed his bruised cheek with the back of his hand. "Nice move, Pan." "You're better than I expected." "Guess the warm-up is over, huh?"

Pan smiles throughout their warm-up, easily blocking and returning Trunks' attacks. She knows that Trunks is not trying anywhere near his hardest, but neither is she. Pan's eyes widen slightly as Trunks' fist connects with her cheek at the exact same second that her fist hits Trunks' cheek. After they spring back Pan rubs her cheek softly, not from pain but from the mere fact that Trunks had touched her. Pan blushes softly, then smiles as Trunks complements her.

"Thanks Trunks, you're REALLY good yourself." Pan says, smiling. "Yeah. It's time to get serious."

Pan stretches out her shoulders and assumes her fighting stance again.

Trunks smirked, the resemblance to his father striking in that moment. "Yeah...no more fooling around."

He blurred suddenly, shooting at Pan with blinding speed. As Pan launched a kick to counter his charge, only to have her leg sweep harmlessly through the after image Trunks had made. She dove to the right just in time to avoid a vicious ax kick that buckled the steel plate she had been standing on.

Trunks was still for a fraction of a second before he leapt to the attack once more, lashing out with a barrage of punches and open handed strikes. The style his father had taught him was one of unrelenting aggression, attacking with fury and power until your foe was overcome. Trunks didn't follow that philosophy completely, but he wanted to see how Pan would deal with such a tactic.

Pan smiles slightly just before Trunks starts the attack again, she is a caught a little off guard because he moves so much faster than before. She is surprised when her foot passes through Trunks' after-image. Pan barely has a second to breath after dodging the axe kick before Trunks starts his barrage. Even though Trunks' attacks come at her furiously Pan easily blocks and dodges each one. Trunks' attacks back Pan against the side of the gravity chamber, right where one of their attacks had shattered the wall a bit. Pan doesn't notice that a few of the splintered shards of the wall hook into the fabric of her shirt. During a small break in Trunks' attack Pan quickly dodges to the side, the shards hold onto her shirt and it rips off as she pulls away.

Trunks snarled as Pan darted away from the wall, escaping his attempt to pin her there and limit her mobility. It was just by a little bit, but where he as stronger than her, she was a little faster than he was. As he turned to follow her motion, a flash of red caught the corner of his eye, and he turned his head to see what it was.

His fists unclenched, his blue eyes losing their battle focus and widening. A few jagged metal edges from where the plate had buckled apparently stuck out from the wall..they must have snagged Pan's shirt...and when she leaped away. The red fabric hung there, and Trunks immediately wheeled about as he heard a battle cry from the beautiful warrior, time seeming to slow as he saw her.

After first seeing her in full bloom, and during their conversation, he had speculated that her bosom couldn't be so firm on it's own, that she must be wearing a support bra. As Pan charged him, nude to the waist, he saw that he had been wrong.

Her breasts stuck proudly into the air, jiggling noticibly as she rocketed toward him, apparently not yet aware of her situation. He'd seen nude women in Goten's magazines before, as well as in his own imagination, but...he'd never dreamed of a more perfect or appealing set of breasts. He wanted to reach out and touch them, feel the warm firmness of them...He could feel a rush of blood to his cheeks, as well as to another part of his body. His member leaped to attention, Trunks realizing that the tight nature of the suit he wore would do nothing to hide it.

Time resumed normal speed, Trunks staring at Pan, his defense completely down. "P-Pan, y-you-your-"

He was cut off by a punch that sent him slamming back against the far wall. As he flew through the air, he threw himself backward on instinct, his feet striking the wall and pushing himself off toward her. The two young fighters collided with a terrible impact, rolling across the chamber.

Trunks was dazed for a few moments, blinking his eyes to get the stars out of them...he and Pan had ended up head-butting each other. He felt his head on something warm and soft...then he froze in delight and horror. Slowly he raised his head to see where he was.

Pan was beneath him, one hand holding her forehead, as stunned as he was. Trunks lay partially atop her, his head having been pillowed on her bare chest. He half-rose, his eyes meeting hers..."Uhh...Pan, I..."

As Trunks snarls Pan readies to counter him, unaware of the state of her clothes. Pan doesn't hesitate when she notices Trunks just staring at her and rushes him. She notices a change in the room, how the air feels against her, but she still doesn't realize that her shirt has torn off. Only after her fist connects with Trunks' face and he starts to rocket towards her again does she realize what has happened and her shock allows Trunks' charge to hit her. She is too dazed to notice the position in which the two land. As she regains her senses she faintly hears Trunks' voice, momentarily forgetting that she is topless.

"W...What is it Trunks?" she asks.

His heart was beating in a way he'd never felt. It was kind of like all those times he'd stared death in the face, with Majin Buu, with Baby, with Super 17, that same frenetic pounding that sounded dully in his ears even above all other sound. He'd moved, wanting to get his eyes away from her bare chest, not trusting himself to be able to look away otherwise. His chest was over hers, and he almost swore he could hear her heartbeat as well as his own.

He felt his head going lower, his lips moving barely, "I...I want to..." His lips were so close to hers now...he could feel her warm exhalation on his face, though all the rest of the universe seemed to suddenly be holding its breath. Closer, closer...gently, their lips brushed together. Not a peck, but a tender, caress.

Suddenly, Trunks felt ashamed of himself. Pan was his friend, someone who looked up to him, and had stood by him. She didn't think of him...couldn't think of him like this. She was his responsibility, being younger than him, and he had taken advantage of her.

In an instant, the faint kiss was broken, though his lips were still warm, and begged for more. He blurred and was gone, reappearing to sight at the entrance to the chamber, his back to her. "I...I'm sorry, Pan." "I don't know what came over me...I...I shouldn't have done that." His voice was full of rebuke and self-directed fury. "I'm sorry I looked at you...and...and..the rest of it." "I just...I remember visiting you all two years age and thinking about how remarkable you were, how much I liked you...how I wished you were older." He was babbling, he knew it, but he couldn't stop himself. "Then I saw you now, older and grown into such a woman...and your shirt came off and I...I'm sorry." "If you'd rather not journey with me anymore, I'll understand...I'll stay away from you until we reach New Namek, then stay there while the ship takes you back."

His hands had been clenched into fists, now they relaxed, his shoulders slumping with a heavy weight of shame and guilt. "I better go take a cold shower...you can find the clothing machine in the room you were in before..."

He opened the door, walking out without another word. What an idiot he was! How could he have done that to her? Even as he asked himself the questions, part of him piped up, asking him if he felt so bad because he truly felt he shouldn't have done it or because he'd now blown any chance he had with her.
