Dwarf Tales (Closed)

Lucy enjoyed the meal, it was more then what she had with her parents most of the time. Life was tough, but she loved to live, it was a very interesting life she had. She just wished that it hadn't been the end of her old life. But she knew a new life was coming, and this was her new life. Keldrik wasn't perfect, nor was she and he didn't expect her to be perfect. He knew when they had children, they would be half human and half dwarf. She was thinking deeply, until he asked for some help. Shaking her head she came back to reality and smiled, helping him with his Armour.

"How did you get this Armour on before I stumbled into your life?" Lucy asked with a smile.

Once done she heard what he said about getting dressed, Lucy knew she was going to need new clothing. Because dresses was something she wasn't sure, if they were good for this kind of work. But as she changed into her dress, she pulled her hair back and enjoying the moment. Then came out, knowing he would get her some work boots. She had small feet, so this was going to be interesting.

"I sincerely don't remember!", Keldrik laughted as she helped him lay the heavy chainmail over his broad shoulders. Playfully, as the both of them were alone and in a home environment, the dwarf allowed himself to slap against her behind. Dwarves were usually cold and reserved to outsiders, but for Keldrik, Lucy had become family already... and to family, they could be both amorous and dedicated as the best of partners.

Meddling with a small cabinet, Keldrik had finally produced Lucy a pair of heavy boots... way larger than her size. For as strange as it sounds, his feet were broader than hers. However, it would have to do.

"Well... try them on, and then lets go."

She smiled and laughed with him at what he said, taking the boots from him she thanked him and sat down. Slipping her feet into them, they were way to big for her. But knew that it would have to do, so she made sure the laces were very tight on her feet. So they wouldn't fall off, once she made sure they wouldn't fall off her feet. She looked up at Keldrik and smiled at him, he was very kind to her and didn't understand why they were connected so quickly. But she silently thanked god for him, he saved her and now gave her a new life. Slowly walking over to him, she kissed him on the lips lovingly and when she pulled back had a big smile.

"I'm ready" She said happily.

He had adored that last kiss. He ignored why, but Lucy was turning on to be the very best of women he had ever met - including many a dwarven lass. Keldrik tooke her hand, kissing lightly against it's back as he started to lead her. Locking the door behind them, he guided her through the dark, somewhat damp corridors of the Hold.

As it was still early morning outside, most of the tunnels were cold - that is, until they've started to go downstairs. A huge stairwell that descended into the earth as if it was a road. As the both of them went down, with the warrior nodding in acknowledgement to the ocasional dwarf citizen that had woken up early, or the guard awaiting to be dismissed, Keldrik had led her by the hand as if the both of them were mere children at play.

The warm feeling that even now spread through his stocky, tough heart was simply outstanding.

She smiled looking at him kindly, wondering what people would think of working with a human girl. She could do anything she wanted to, when it came down to it. She wasn't afraid, she had to bite away the fear and remembered what he said. They were just curious about her, but then it made her wonder about the old man. He still had the pendent that was given to her, she wanted her pendent back. But began to wonder if perhaps she needed permission to work, but he seemed to know what he was doing which was a good thing. Looking up at him she smiled softly.

"Do I need to get permission from someone to work?" I asked curiously.

"As a matter of fact... ye."

Keldrik walked closely to Lucy, leading her through the quiet, dark halls were only occasionally a lit torch shed some tantalizing light into the stone corridors. However, their craftsmaship was so good and significant that it was almost confortable for the girl to walk them... as if naturally doing so was in her own nature, as if raised to dwell in such places.

"I'll have to talk with the Head of the Herders... but I do not think ther' shall be much trouble for ya. They'll teach ye if anything."

Lucy nodded and understood, but when they got there she noticed the boss and looked down. Nervous, she knew there language fluently so that wouldn't be a problem. She noticed one of the animals coming up to her, while Keldrik was speaking on her behalf to see if he could give her a job. She ran her fingers in it's fur and noticed it was a pregnant female, she ran her fingers down her back as she hummed happily. Looking up at the creature she rubbed her nose against the animals as she giggled.

It was not difficult for Keldrik to convince Mjal, the Herd Master, that Lucy would make a good herder herself. She had been approached by a fat female Rothè and already started to playfully deal with the little creature. Although Mjal would at first be careful not to allow anyone not used to the herds to approach, Lucy seemed to possess a natural gift to it.

Mjal worried about the bulls. Rothè bulls could be little, but their onslaughts could be three times as vicious as a savage mountain ram's. But as Lucy seemed to get along quickly, Keldrik approached her to give the girl one last kiss at her cheek before motioning to leave.

The Herdmaster would take good care of her.

She stopped petting the female and smiled as she was given a kiss on the cheek, she waved goodbye to him. Now she knew she had the herd master to worry about, she walked up to him and bowed her head in respect to him. And spoke in there language. "Thank you for giving me the chance to work with you, I will do as I am told. You won't have any trouble with me, and I'm a very fast learner" She said kindly and picked up her head looking at him. His eyes seemed friendly, and she smiled hoping she hadn't broken any rules. But the Rothè female came to her, she hadn't moved from the spot where she was told to stay.

"It seems she likes you, girl."

Mjal the Herdmaster was slightly shorter than Keldrik, but slightly stockier as well. A little bit fat - a fact he attributed to drinking a mug of Rothè's milk every morning and every evening - Mjal was a kind as a dwarf could be;

"So... you're the Lucy some 'been talkin' 'bout.", he told her as he took both his large hands over his belt. "I've hear' that Keldrik is fond of you."

He said as Keldrik was making his way back into the tunnels. Her lover would have to see the clan's learderships in order to check out what they'd have to do with her...

She nodded some and smiled "Yes, I'm afraid people maybe a bit scared of me. A human amounts everyone else, thankfully I know your language fluently. So really I'm not much different, I'm just taller and not as attractive." She said softly, being very honest to him, since she knew some of his people may see her is ugly because she was nothing like the other women in looks. Lucy enjoyed the company she had with this man.

"Yes we are both fond of one another, he saved me and I owe him my life. But I do not know of my future, I guess time will tell on what happens to me." She said softly and sighed some and remained quite. So the man could speak, she wasn't to sure what to call him. Afraid of disrespecting him, when she sure as hell didn't want to upset anyone.

"Well, I be Mjal. I am the boss of those that tend to the herds. It's still early today, and most of our workers are still getting down here."

He said as he spread his hands to show her the cavern the both of them were. It was simple rock, not as worked as the halls and corridors that made up most of the hold - but it was well cleaned. A couple of the beasts stood muching some gravel, but the cave would go one downwards until it opened up into a much larger space, where a couple dozens of Rothè dwelt in small areas surrounded by fences.

"Come. I'll show the herd to you."

She smiled at him kindly and nodded "It's nice to meet you Mjal, I'm Lucy" It wasn't a unique name, it was very human but it would do. She always liked her name so Lucy never thought twice about it, taking a deep breath she sighed as she walked beside Mjal. A big smile on her face as they came to the herd, they were so cute. Lucy wondered if she would be able to help birth the little one inside the mother, that would be an honor. To help life come into the world, a life that had no idea what the world was like. She didn't know what to say, so she stay quite. Not knowing if there was a rule about talking, she still had a lot to learn she knew.
