Eating meat for beginners

Liver is very good for you. Not only does it have vitamin A and iron, but lots of the hard to find (at least in the American diet) vitamin K. It's the most highly prized organ in many hunting cultures, and I'm pretty sure cooking it gets rid of those toxins.

Do I eat liver? No, are you kidding me, that's gross!

Here's something for the folks that HATE liver. I DARE you to ......

Take one container of chichen liver, drain and gently boil them for about ten minutes.

Chop/grind 'em up real fine in a good sized bowl. (A fork works fine.)

Add about a half a cup of finely chopped yellow onion, 2 tsp of lemon juice, 2 tsp olive oil, 2-3 tsp worchester and a little garlic powder. Mix it all up.

Add 2 grated or finely diced up hard boiled eggs and about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of mayo. (I'm going from memory. I've made it so many times I never measure anymore.)

Cover and let it sit in the frig for at least an hour before serving.

Serve it with crackers of your choice. Wheat thins are great.

Sounds HORRIBLE, I know but I GUARANTY you and your friends will LOVE it.

You won't regret it!

Liver is a great source of iron and protein. It is relatively inexpensive and besides it does smell great when cooking with onions. I would personally never eat it. Too many years of microbiology but then again nor would I eat raw fish however attractively packaged. :D

Overeat and rust

I now like liver, it gives me iron and gets me pissed-off!:p

Just asking

Yikes! Pate isn't just meat - it's LIVER. Yicky. I've heard it's good, but I just can't bring myself to do the organ meat thing.
Is this where the organ-grinder comes in?:p

For me it's not the idea, it's that horrid taste. For example, I could likely eat your grandma's stuffing but eating a slab of cooked, liver, NOT A CHANCE!

That's what I thought it was. Veggie pate. Sigh. Somewhere a something died so I could put something on a triscuit. It's disheartening.
Something died either way. Plants are also living things, just in case that slipped your mind.
