Ecstasy Island

Adam Brown

Adam Brown was the newest member of an ad agency, but he was already tired of all the phony crap they put out. Did people really believe that hype they read in the newspapers, on the TV, the billboards, radio, you name it, it was everywhere. The worst was the internet, pop up ads offering everything from free travel to free sex.

Obviously he was in the wrong job but what direction should he go? His education was limited and although he wasn't afraid of hard work, he expected a decent salary. He didn't want to spend the rest of his life writing "Super-size this?"

Maybe he just needed a vacation, some time to think about what he wanted out of life.

While he was pondering all this he was surfing the internet, trying to avoid all those damn popups he so disliked. One that coming back caught his attention.

Somehow he sensed this one was for real so he filled out the form and submitted it

been forced to design, way beyond anything he could even attempt to imagine.
That was last week This morning he had boarded a jet to Miami and the after a short Helicopter ride found himself at the most luxurious resort he had thought possible, way beyond those phony slick ads he had And it was real and it was free!

All the amenities were here for him to enjoy plus the company of a very charming group of young people who like himself had been lucky and won the contest.

He noticed a group of people heading for ahuge buffet and the smell of food and the friendly banter he overheard drew him in that direction. Let's pull some tables together he said cheerfully as he wanted to get to know each one of the people he would be spending time with on the island. Of course it was the girls he was most interested in but he decided to take things slow and easy. ;)

Teri Birness

As they pushed the tables together and filled their plates, everyone introduced themselves. It was confusing but Teri knew eventually she would figure out which name went with which face.

The discussion flowed from names to residences to jobs. They discussed how they had each submitted the application and the surprise of winning. Teri made sure Dani spoke up and was included.

The majority of the discussion was about the island and all that it had to offer. Their task was to experience as much as possible and give feedback. Everyone had different ideas as to what they wanted to do first or see first and the excited chatter filled the patio as they ate.

A couple of times, Teri had turned to look in Scott's direction at the same time as he had looked at her. Their eyes had met and Teri knew that the smile she saw in his eyes was reflected in hers. She was looking forward to getting to know him better.

Scott couldn't help but notice Teri looking at him every so often, just as he couldn't help looking at her and her amazing body. She was simply an amazing beautiful woman, about his age and clearly had a warm personality to boot. He fully intended to strike while the iron was hot, as they say.

When they'd both eaten their fill, he leaned forward to her, and asked in quiet tones, "What do you say we leave the rest of the guests to their own devices and go do some exploring?"

Teri

Teri looked around the table and saw that everyone else, including Dani, was busy eating and talking so she agreed to go with Scott. Leaning over, she whispered to Dani, "I will see you later, you are doing great."

Then excusing herself, Teri got up from the table and followed Scott. "Where would you like to go? We could walk up to the lookout tower or down to one of the beaches, or something else if you prefer? There seems to be a lot of interesting things to see within a short distance of the hotel."

After having excused themselves and walked out of the dining room, they considered where to go.

"Well, I'm up for either going to that hotspring or one of those waterfalls... we'd have to have swimsuites for either, so why don't we both change and meet back down here, and we can decided where to go?"

The appeals of the places he'd mentioned were his main reasons for picking them, but the appeals of seeing Teri in a bathing suit were also, of course, a big factor.

Teri agreed to go change into a suit and left Scott there. She was disappointed that he had chosen to go swimming. "Just once I would like to meet a man that doesn't want to see me half undressed within the first few hours of meeting me," she thought.

Shrugging it off with a sigh, Teri found a suit that would cover most of her and fit at the same time. She changed from sandals to walking shoes since both the waterfalls and the hot springs were quite a long walk. Over her suit she slid a pair of walking shorts and a tshirt. She put a waistbag around her waist and put in her room key and suntan lotion, and grabbed a towel. Sliding a visor on her head and remembering her camera, Teri decided she was ready to go.

She walked down the hallway glancing at the art on the walls, then went down to the pathway by the side of the hotel. To get to the hot springs they would have to go past the lookout tower but to get to the waterfalls, they had to go in a different direction.

As she waited for Scott, she let her eyes sweep over the scenic view from the hotel to the beach.

Scott walked up to his room with a slight bounce in his step, humming a tune to himself. It occurred to him halfway there that Teri may have taken his options the wrong way, but then, it would hardly make sense her to blame him for choosing something that involved swimming when practically nothing on the island didn't involve swimming.

Enterring his room, Scott momentarily paused to look around with pleasure at his comfortable room, still in awe that he'd actually been chosen. With a crooked grin, he rummaged through his suitcase again, figuring he'd unpack later.

After a moment, he chose a pair of black swimming shorts with a white beater. He debated anything else he might bring, but figured he wouldn't need anything else - which sounded enormously appealing to him. After putting on his aviator glasses (an old Marine habit), he went downstairs.

Smiling as he stood by Teri again, he asked, "So, where would you prefer to go?"

Teri Birness

As Scott approached Teri, she smiled. "No doubt about it, the man is definitely prime male." Her smile became wider and her mood improved as she realized the irony of being upset at Scott for wanting her in a swimsuit when she had just ogled his body.

She suggested that they walk to the hot springs since it was on the other side of the observation tower and the waterfalls were much further away. She wanted to become more familiar with the hotel and immediate surroundings before hiking across the island. Plus, she was slightly tired from the trip through two airports.

They walked together along the winding path, mostly in silence, admiring the view of the ocean from the hillside. Occasionally one of them would point out flora or fauna that they saw. The path was on a slight uphill grade and Teri was glad when they reached the tower. She thought she was in shape using the equipment at the gym, but walking uphill in reality was more difficult.

The tower had a 360 degree view of the entire island. Inside the tower was a bench along one area and a telescope similar to the coin type you find in most parks with spectacular views. Using the telescope slowly, and moving in a circle, she was able to see the entire coastline, except for the section on the west side that was hidden by the cliffs.

She stepped away and let Scott look through the telescope. Walking over to the bench and sitting down. The day was warm, but there was a soft breeze that came from the ocean, keeping the temperature lower than it would be down on the beach. She brushed her hair from her eyes, and watched Scott. Every now and then he would make a comment in his low voice, and she recognized the area he was looking at from her turn at the scope.

It had been a long time since Teri had taken the time to just sit and literally smell the tropical flowers that covered the island. She leaned back against the wall, her legs stretched out in front of her, her hands crossed on her stomach. She was totally relaxed and it felt foreign. Closing her eyes, she felt the soft breeze float across her skin. She could hear some bees in the flowers outside the tower and a couple of birds calling back and forth to each other.

"I can't remember the last time I heard birds chirping and bees buzzing," she said to Scott.

Scott was glad she'd chosen the hotspring... it sounded enormously appealing. After a cramped flight, what could be a better relaxation point than steaming water? Plus, he imagined it would be an excellent icebreaker.

The trek was long, but enjoyable. The interior of the island that they passed through, shrouded from the hot sun with the lush vegitation, was pleasantly cool, and damp. As they ascended the hill Scott found himself working a bit harder - for despite all his working out, there are no hills in Florida.

In the tower, the view was of course magnificent. He took his time examining the island after Teri had had her turn. After a couple minutes, he turned around as Teri spoke to him.

For a moment he didn't respond, just merely smiled slightly as he looked at her. With her eyes closed, he had the ease of looking where ever he wanted without fear, and look he did. She looked incredibly beautiful, almost exotic in these surroundings... The ocean breeze wafting in gently, the birds singing.

"I know what you mean." He responded, "It's a lot more exotic here than where I live. A lot more pleasant too."

For a few more minutes he stayed silent, before asking, "Want to go find this hotspring?"

Teri

Opening her eyes, Teri smiled slowly. The look in Scott's eyes was one of male appreciation. He wasn't leering or undressing her, he was just liking what he saw. She moved to her feet, and they walked to the open doorway that led to the far side of the hill away from the hotel.

The path switchbacked down the steeper side, so Teri was glad she had changed shoes. Again the hillside was overgrown with green flowering plants that put a thick flowery aroma in the air. She wasn't sure of the names of all of them, but she could smell jasmine, honeysuckle and gardenias.

Glancing up, she looked to see the sun's position in the sky. Teri was glad the days were long and the sun would be up for several hours. She would not have wanted to hike back up the hill in the dark. Although she had brought her camera, she didn't bother to take pictures. She could always come back later in the week for that. For now, she just wanted to take in everything, to experience it.

"There are so many different flowers and birds here. I wonder if the hotel has a gift shop that would sell some books on the local flowers and animals? I would like to be able to identify what I have seen."

OOC: Sorry, ya'll. Storm did a number with my computer and my connection and I just got it back where it needs to be.

IC:
Alex pushed the food around her plate a bit and watched Terri and Scott excuse themselves. She smiled at the others around the table and stretched her hand towards the newest among them. "I'm Alex. It was a great idea to push the tables together. Stranded on a tropical island with strangers isn't nearly as welcoming as being stranded on a tropical island with people you know."

She winked at him, a bit appalled at her forwardness. Knowing these people would be going their own way at the end of this vacation and the likelihood of seeing them again was slim, gave her the jolt of forwardness she needed to get past her natural shy, wall-flower tendencies.
