"What?!?" I asked wondering what had spooked Jess so bad. She was backing away from the couch. "Is there a spider?" I asked, jumping up and moving behind Summer.

"Hey, Mira, you're not going to believe this, but there was even someone with the same name as you back in the... Mira? Where did you go?" Summer asked.

"What? I am right behind you. See!" I called out to her. "What do you mean my name is in there?" I asked, bending down holding the book in my hands still. "Let me see."

I looked from Jessi to the voice from behind me, a look of amazement on my face. I'd just had a thought struck me, even though I had barely been paying attention to what had been said. What if this wasn't all just bullshit? What if Mira really had cast a spell and it worked, some kind of invisibility or camouflage spell, something like that. It didn't make sense. At least, it didn't make sense if you thought with modern scientific thoughts, but then modern science wouldn't explain how I could hear Mira's voice, and feel her raising the book in my hand, but not see her. Yet she obviously didn't believe it, which meant what? She could see herself..?

"Mira," I said, nervousness and excitement making my voice tremor. "You want to know what's happened? Watch this?"

I took the book from Jessi, telling here there was only one way sort this out, then leafed through until I found the invisibility spell. Hopefully two invisible people couldn't see one another - it wouldn't really make sense, but then this didn't anyway. I took a deep breath and read the spell, feeling a tingling sensation wash over me.

OOC: SP, we must have been posting at the same time, and since BF posted to mine, I will post around it and work it out.

IC: I had been ignoring Jess, thinking she was just joshing me when I saw that Summer just disappeared. Right in front of my eyes she just seemed to blink out.

"HOLY COW!" I yelled, "So sorry, Jess, what was the reverse? Does it work? I can't stay invisable. What is it again?"

Panic was in my voice. What if I got hit by a car? What if it would never change me back so I could be visable again?

"What was cast, now undo.
earth, fire, water and air.
Call upon the 4 today.
Recall this spell I spoke with haste. " Jess spoke again.

I mocked every word. Not skipping or miss pronouncing. "What was cast, now undo. Earth, fire water and air. Call apon the 4 today. Recall this spell I spoke with haste."

A tingling again shifted through my body. "Did it work? Can you see me again? I am so sorry." I said, hugging Jess loving the feeling of her in my arms. Scared that I would still be invisable.

"This isn't supposed to be real!"

I was floored, both had cast it and both had vanished.
"This isnt funny you two! Stop it!"
Mira paniced when she seen Summer vanish and asked for the words. I gave them to her and stared transfixed and stunned.
Igonoring Summers giggles and accepting Mira's hug I stepped back.
"Its......? Its not supposed to be real! Can you imagine the trouble we could get into using this stuff?! God! No more casting understood? Not until we read up on this.. What it casting something big and .... and well something goes wrong and.. It could change the world! Have really bad effects and stuff.. I think we should umm put this book away for now.. Summer?" I glanced around, "Dang it Summer thats NOT funny, get back into your skin or whatever it was.." I was shaking a little so I sat down, always the gruff one, I just made it a habit after so long. Understanding this was slightly confusing.
"Apparently I have two friends who are WITCHES!" I shook my head, still gaping in amazement and stunned, then began to laugh.
"Oh god! What if... What if Whit's spell worked?! We've got to go to that party at the college tonight! I got to know.." I jumped up and headed upstairs. Stopping at the bottom, I turned around and grabbed the book.
"I am taking this so you two dont start causing storms and stuff!" marching upstairs, I left it to Mira to help Summer return to her normalcy..

OOC: Edited to take account of SP's post, written at the same time, submitted first. Sorry for timing problem SP.

IC: I followed along with Mira's charm of undoing, complying with Jessi's request to stop laughing and turn back visible. From the tingle I felt run though my body and into my groin, was certain I must have cast a spell. It was just the same as last time. A thrill, like when I saw a guy who really turned me on, pulsing through me as the spell was cast. So, this was real. More than that, with the tingle of pleasure to accompany the power of the magic, it could also be addictive.

Mira acted scared, as did Jessi. She was whining at how this wasn't meant to be real - a thought apparently matched by Jessi's own outcry at the disappearance. Then I caught what I was thinking. These were my friends. I loved them. They weren't whining, they were understandably scared. And yet... And yet that thrill, that power. No, I'd never told any of them that I, little old geeky Summer, had already had a couple of sexual experiences and enjoyed them almost as much as studying how to make them better. That tingle reminded me of them. I found myself wanting it again.

"But... this is real," I said quietly. "It's really real. Maybe... maybe we just need to learn more about how it works and... and practice. Just small things until we can do it safely and don't need to be afraid."

I stood, partway across the living room, frozenin my tracks. An unopen coke in my hand crashed to the floor, I could hear Mira speaking, but I couldn't see her. Jessi looked like she had seen a ghost, and tore through the pages of the book frantically looking for something. I glanced at Summer just in time to hear her say the words then vanish into thin air. My jaw dropped to the floor, both were not there, but were, their voice clearly audible.

I just stood there in amazement while Mira spoke the undo spell and reappeared. Jessi's question weighing heavy on my mind. What if the spell I cast worked? That would mean...... I laughed nearly hysterically for a few moments then tried to calm myself the best I could. "You two have fun? I think we could have soe serious fun with that invisible spell. Hurry up Jess. If were gonna make it to that party." I was more than excited to find out if it had worked. It wouldn't be to hard to find out either, the captain of the college football team, known womanizer. The rumors would sweep the party like a plague.

Walking upstairs, I bent over the balcony and yelled down, "Go get things ready you three! We've got to see if this worked.. And Summer is right, we should becareful and practice a little and read up on this before going too far. Perhaps only Mira and Summer have this weird gift of witch craft? I certainly dont feel weird or anything..." Course I hadn't attempted to cast anything. I walked into my room and found a slimming little black top and shorts, I refused to wear dresses anywhere!
Walking into the bathroom, I put on some light make up and brushed my hair. Good enough. Smiling I walked out, "Ya'll can raid my closet if you like, We're all about the same damned size anyways.." I grabbed the book off of my bed and went down the stairs and back into the living room.

I watched and laughed as Jess got so excited. "Do you think your spell worked Whit?" I asked her. "You just gave me an idea. We could go to the party and no one would know. We could go invisable. See what people think of us."

It interested me thinking I could spy on people. I had always wondered about how people spoke of you behind your back. This could prove to be very interesting.

"Before we go though. What was that about my name being in the witches familiy tree? Do you think it means anything?"

I shook away the shock and giggled softly "I don't know if it really worked, Mira. It would be a rather funny blow to ol' Billy's ego. I think Summer and Jess are right we need to take this slow and learn more about it before we go all gung-ho. We wouldn't know what to do if something serious happened."

I shrugged and bent down to pick up my coke from the floor. I wondered how you could tell if you had cast a spell or not. Was it that feeling I had, or was that just some freak thing that had happened? If it was the sign I had a feeling we were going to blown away at the party. But who knew for sure?

I agreed with Mira, intrigued by the fact someone in Maddie's family had the same name as Mira. "Ok bookworm, got a theory on a connection there might be, between Mira and Maddie's ancestor?" I joked with Summer, a soft smile toying at my face. She looked as flustered as I had felt after I read the spell. I could hear Jessi upstairs finishing up, soon we would go and find out if I was a witch.

"I think perhaps we should go see if it worked, and then go to the book store and convince James to let us in.. We desperately need to read up on some of this stuff before doing ANYTHING more!" I came down and glanced over Summer's shoulder at the book.
"Odd they have the same name.. Possible Ol' Maddie Hayes was a great aunt or something??" I asked Whitney for a drink of her coke and sat down on the chair near by.
"This stuff could do really bad harm to someone we dont want it too, and should be very careful.."

I shook my head. "It could be that she was an old relative of Mira's but I doubt it. Look, I just found an Emma Dodson. Ok, it's not my name, but see the birthdate. June 21st - the first day of Summer."

I had to admit, it was slightly unnerving, and my mind wondered whether, just possibly, Maddie had passed this stuff on to us knowing that at least two of us bore a resemblance to her ancestors via names. Was there more to it than met the eye?

"It-It's got to be coincidence, doesn't it? I mean this family history is huge - it goes back centuries and seems to detail everyone. I bet you two are in it somewhere, or your names are. It's just coincidence. I mean, there's only so many names to go around."

I shrugged and looked at the others. It had to be coincidence. That's what I was telling myself. It had to be, and all I needed now was for one of them to agree with that theory and I might actually believe it.

"Its just coincidence is all.. And I am tired girls. I think the party for me is a bad idea. I would rather get some sleep, and find out later about Billy." I yawned a little and stretched, it had been a long day to begin with. Got up early and moved things all day long.
"Perhaps we're looking at this wrong, I mean we did volunteer our time to Maddie Hayes.. She didn't pick us guys..." I stretched out and took another piece of pizza.
"hand me that book please Summer.." She handed it over and I sat up looking through it. There was many names in here that were common. Including Jessica. I handed it back, noticing Whitney was in there as well.
"They are common enough names, I dont see a link, but that doesnt mean anything. I am the only one who hasn't tried to cast some silly spell.. Not sure If I want to yet or not. I dont know, but you'd think if we were witches, we would feel something right? I dont know.. I think we should research a little and see what we come up with?" I rose from my seat and wiped my hands on my shorts.
"Dammit, I do that too much. Anyways I dont mean to be a party pooper girls, but I am tired and need some sleep. I think you should go to the party though and at least see if Billy's spell has been affective and let me know in the morning.."

Jessi was right, this was just my imagination running away with me. Just because there was a Dodson girl born in summer, and another called Miranda Connors... I considered going home and pulling up some internet white pages just to check how many others shared that name. It must be hundreds, even right now.

Jessi was urging us out of the house, saying she was tired. I was a little frustrated. A party wasn't a party without all four of us, but then, if the others went it could still be fun. I didn't care too much about dressing up for it. Personally, I didn't see what was so wrong with jeans and a white shirt. They were comfortable, and that was the first thing that mattered about clothes.

Then one of Jessi's statements struck me. She'd said that if we were witches we would feel something. Well, what was that tingling? I had to know.

"Er, Whit, Mira, umm... when you cast a spell, did you feel anything? I mean anything... sexual?"

There, it was out, I'd said it. I'd become fed up with being seen as the innocent geek and now I'd been the one to ask a sexual question. It still made me blush though. I just hoped I wasn't the only one.

I looked at Summer and Jess both quizzically. It was weird how Jess just decided to go to bed instead of party.

"Summer, I got this tingling feeling all over, but it went away shortly afterwards. Do you think there is something to this?"

I walked out to the sidewalk after hugging Jess bye. "I can hardly wait til tomorrow. I think this is so neat."

They were leaving off to have fun and here I was acting like an old woman. Kicking myself I grabbed my wallet and stepped outside with the girls. Locking the house and putting my keys away I called out, "Wait up!" I jogged out to the sidewalk where they were and gave a flushed grin, "Im not old yet! Might as well enjoy the weekend.. I dont know why I feel like a hermit lately.. Could be because of Billy's stupid tale he is spreading around about me being a 'cold fish'?" Walking along with the other three, it was quiet in our neighborhood tonight.
Since the party wasnt far, We all just decided to walk. Which was better incase any of us drank we could just walk home instead of driving.
"Well let's go crash the party and see if Ol' Billy can't function anymore.." I giggled again and walked along with the others.

A coincidence? Of course. Two girls with the same names as to people in an old family tree. Names were so commonly the same I didn't think anything of it. I was pumped to go to this party and find out what has become of Billy. Jessi's comment lingered in my mind...

I look over at my clock frowning thinking do I really want to go to that part. My eyes unfockest maybe Whitney will be there I smile softy maybe I’ll find out exactly how she fond out about my bike sins no one in town should have known about it. I get up and walk up stars I jump in to the shower quick then I go and fined some decant clothes.

I finely walk down stairs and out the front door knowing better then to bring my hike not wanting to wreck it cuz I’m to stupid to not drive after drinking. I walk slowly in the duration of the frat house not paying any attention to any one ells arund me.

I followed the others, intrigued to hear that both Whitney and Mira had felt something too. I couldn't help the next thought that came to mind, though I would never voice it. I walk through the door in to the noise of the party I move among the different people stopping to talk her and there. I make my way in to the kitchen and fined self a bear. I walk back in to the living room just in time to see some jock barge out of the house in a huff. I followed in Jessi’s wake as she spotted Billy and made her way to him. Standing aside slightly, I watched and listened with amusement.

I threw him a questioning look and then glanced around somewhat to see Tiffany perched beside him on the couch. I rolled my eyes, no doubt he was being tortured by her. She talked more than Courtney and Leila put together.

Without excusing myself I pushed my way through the crowd of drunkards, “Hey Scott!” I smiled sweetly at Tiffany, “Remember you promised me a dance?”
I winked at Scott and reached out my hand to pull him up off of the couch. My insides doing a twist with the warm touch of his hand, I looked up into his Face. My pulse jumping to radical, “Let’s go get me a beer and go outside, it is far too hot in here.” I managed to whisper into his ear.

The need to get out of here grew far worse as I followed Scott through the crowd. A tormented sigh of relief tore through my body, when the cool night air caressed my flushed and heated skin. I hoped that I could find some relief. I had to do something.

I studied the porch swing, a little unsure if I dared sit that close to him in my condition. There was a war raging inside of me, part telling me to sit, lure him in and find release, the other part telling me it wouldn't help even if I did.

Popping open my beer, I took a long drink of it trying to compose myself somewhat, well the best I could anyway. I gave up the battle and sat down beside him. "No thanks needed Scott. I know how Tiffany is. I am guessing she bored you with a reanactment of her shopping this morning." The last of my words oozed with bitterness. I took another long drink, nearly taking down half the beer. "Any chance you'd eant to have meaningless sex with me tonight?" I blurted out. My hand flew over my mouth , my cheeks turning a deep crimson. I had no idea where that had come from. "I.....um, I'm sorry I don't know where that came from. I-I should go now." I got up, walked down the porch steps and wandered over to a tree. I guzzled the last of my beer and wrapped my arms around my waist.

Whitney had vanished somewhere, Summer was talking to John in the corner and Mira was lurking somewhere else. I stood against the wall, bored off of my ass. Watching couples neck and pet heavily while some drank and made lewed jokes, I was feeling a little out of place. It was still out there I was a cold fish. It was dawn now, people partying it up and hadn't stopped. Shrugging I walked outside and glanced around the front yard. The sun was just rising and no one was up and about yet, aside from the wild partiers. I thought over the spell I read earlier and thought perhaps I would give it a chance? Why not, no one was around, and I had memorized the spells.
Walking out a little I closed my eyes and concentrated, the words swimming in my brain, I did not feel the need to speak them aloud, just coax it a little. I bent down, My hand moving slowly side to side as I chanted the words in my mind.
Smiling, I opened my eyes and watched as the small little root from the tree began to climb a little higher with each passing of my hand, the words chanting inside my mind took on a musical quality as the tree gave birth and sprouted up. I stopped chanting when the limb reached a good two feet into the air and was sprouting little leaves.
Sitting back on my ass in the grass, I was stunned to see it had worked, I had made this natural living thing grow! I felt giddy inside and happy for once, I could not wait to try this on my garden at home. But with the good comes the strange and unexplainable. A little tingling sensation rippled down my spine and I felt that awakening desire the other's had spoken of earlier.
But in my case it felt more like a surge of energy boost. Like I had taken something and it hypered me up.
Glancing around making sure I was alone, I stood up and dusted off my butt. Then for no reason what so ever I took off jogging. Heading down to our little main street.
I jogged for a good ten blocks and stopped at the book store door. James had yet to open the store up, and I was edgy for him to hurry. Glancing at the time listed on the door, I realized I had an hour to kill. Not in the mood to jog anymore, and coffee was certainly not needed, I sat down infront of the store and waited for James to arrive.
I said research and I meant it.. Perhaps here there would be a book I could read on consequences of our actions?
