Rewriting history constitutes changing the narrative about what actually happened to show a different outcome. This is done by selectively including only those things you want and omitting the things you don't want.
OTOH, deleting something hurtful doesn't change what actually happened so there's no "rewriting" going on.
To the other fuckup, I've yet to hear Musk doing this about anything involving Tesla.

It's also done by erasing the parts of history you don't like, there's this book by George Orwell ( i know ...sigh, books..why can't it be youtube) called 1984 where the lead 's day to job at the Ministry of Truth is to delete evidence of the past. Deleting evidence of the past doesnt change what happened, you are correct on that, but if enough time goes by and theres no record of having it occured as far as the world is concerned..it never happened. And that is rewriting the past...which Musk tried to do, to delete what he had said
