Having read his drivel for a few years, I know he's not old enough to be on SSI or Medicare and he didn't serve long enough for a military retirement. I have no doubt he saved enough money to retire in his late 50s. More power to him. But he's one of the people he's bitching about not being in the workforce. As if he's the only one smart enough to not need or want a job.

Yes we have. People will look for work when they aren't being paid to stay home.

Unemployment compensation pays much less than what one was earning in a previous job. In addition, the longer one is unemployed the less employable one is.

Most of the unemployed are scrambling for jobs. Nevertheless, it has been the case for years that there are four or five people looking for work for every job opening. Also, many employers are uninterested in anyone who does not already have a job doing what they are hiring for.
