I have an idea for a story where a woman buys an enchanted journal from an antique shop. The curator of the shop tells her that whatever she writes will happen but there will be a cost.
So, my question is, without this turning into a satanic horror story, what could "the cost" be. Just say she writes about a romantic dinner with a good looking man and a moonlight walk on the beach where they make love until the sun comes up. What would it cost her?
A drop of blood? A day of her life? A lost day somehow?
Thoughts would be appreceated.

Maybe something embarrassing?
Like at some point during the dinner someone will spill a drink on her, or she'll trip and flash the restaurant
Or when no one is looking directly at her, her clothes will be invisible, but as soon as someone focuses on her, they are no longer visible.

The cost is that each thing she wishes for is temporary. If she wishes for money, the very next day, it and anything she bought with it is gone. The man she met and made love to, likewise is gone when she awakes. Afterward she feels even more alone. After a while she realizes that these temporary things are well and good, but without someone real to share them with, they are hollow experiences. So her next and last wish is for someone wise to talk to.
Afterward she puts the book away and focuses on herself and her life and she nearly forgets about the book. Only to discovery it when when she is packing for her honeymoon. "Honey, do I ever have a surprise for you."
