The wolf moon -January 13, 2025
I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling well! A queasy or sensitive stomach is awful.A recent bout of not feeling so well has left me with a sensitive tummy and some strange dreams.
I’m very curious…did you get embarrassed and bolt in your dream? This last one involved a nun and was . . . erotic.![]()
Lit. I’m sure it’s Lit’s fault.I am not religious. What nominal exposure had as a child was protestant. The connection between digestion and needs study.
It's looking like broth for a few days.I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling well! A queasy or sensitive stomach is awful.
It was one of those hazy, nebulous things that didn't have a solid plot. I remembered being embarrassed and a little shocked, but there was not enough continuity to . . . make decisions?I’m very curious…did you get embarrassed and bolt in your dream?![]()
Now see, I usually just blame @hotwords229_A.Lit. I’m sure it’s Lit’s fault.
I have the greatest gif to share about sexy church stuff, but it is definitely not Enny safe. It's looking like broth for a few days.

I'm still not sure whether I was the nun, or viewing the nun.
Which kinda haunts me.
Now see, I usually just blame @hotwords229_A.![]()
Thank you, thank you, thank you for not posting.I have the greatest gif to share about sexy church stuff, but it is definitely not Enny safe.![]()
I feel quite confident in everyone else's imaginative abilities. Quite.Oh well, everyone will just have to use their imaginations.
Even the question confused me. After Googling, this makes sense as I have never seen the movieOne of the great mysteries of the cineverse: Is MacReady or Childs a Thing?
A recent conversation led from this decade's old question as to whether one knows if one has been assimilated? Does the personality, in fact, know they are a Thing?
It's all very Descartian.
(Hopefully it's Descartes. I get my philosophers confused.)
I've been told Frozen Hell, the somewhat recently released original novella penned by John Campbell, answers that later question. This is the script prior to it being pared down for publication as the short story Who Goes There?.
I've ready the short story and do not remember that question being addressed. So - reading the novella. As we speak.
Rumor has it that the Thing's sexual preference might also be addressed.
(Little shocked about that part.)
What? You have never seen John Carpenter's The Thing?!?!?!Even the question confused me. After Googling, this makes sense as I have never seen the movie![]()
Oh giiiiiirrrrrllll...I'm a Carpenter fan and that's one of his best. Check it out! It's gnarly though so it may not be your thing.Even the question confused me. After Googling, this makes sense as I have never seen the movie![]()
I question the surety of this pronouncement, Boo.Also @Endless_Night Mac was human, Chiles was the Thing. Dude just straight disappeared while shit was going down. That ain't right.
The original is black and white, so not all that scary.Nope, I’ve never seen either. I’ve watched very, very few horror movies. They scare me!![]()
*SPOILERS TO THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN IT!*I question the surety of this pronouncement, Boo.
Why then, was Mac so comfortable waiting to see what happened? Why did he share his bottle of alcohol, thereby opening the way to possible infection?
They both knew they only way to keep it from reaching the populace was to kill it outright, not . . . let it freeze.
Mac was human, Chiles was the Thing. Dude just straight disappeared while shit was going down. That ain't right.
I could go with you on this, but that little laugh MacReady gives when Childs drinks from the bottle makes me wonder . . .*SPOILERS TO THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN IT!*
By that point Mac was just checked out and didn't care anymore. The tone of his voice is basically "Welp, this is the end." So he wasn't thinking about survival. All escape methods were gone, the camp was burning down, there was literally nothing for him to do. He was clear headed and ready to die.
Childs actually may or may not be the Thing but him showing up at the very end is still pretty suspicious. The whole point of the ending really is that it's ambiguous. But I've heard arguments in the past saying that Childs is the Thing because we don't see his breath. Which makes sense.
And actually if you count expanded continuity Mac survives. But that is what it is.
I never said this.Rumor has it that the Thing's sexual preference might also be addressed.
Intrigue!I never said this.
I said that once you read that one part that I won’t spoil, the answer to who or what a Thing would be attracted to will be answered.![]()
I think they made it so there's an argument for both of them, knowing there will be people on both sides...Intrigue!
Ah yeah, that's true too. I think this is why the end is the gift that keeps on giving, because it's so fun to examine and can go all sorts of ways.I could go with you on this, but that little laugh MacReady gives when Childs drinks from the bottle makes me wonder . . .
This is . . . different?I never said this.
I said that once you read that one part that I won’t spoil, the answer to who or what a Thing would be attracted to will be answered.![]()
Really?Intrigue!
