Hello. English is my second language and I am trying to read many books in English, watch television shows, talk with people here to help me become perfect and learn slang and funny phrases or better descriptions and things.
One thing I have is many ideas for sexy stories and I want to try to write in English.
If my phrases are not perfect, will it be ok to post here?
What if I use google and some AI to help?
Also I do not see where I submit stories if anyone can tell me please.
Thank you very much.

You can post your stories even if they are written in "imperfect" English. No one here is perfect at it, second or first language. ;)

Don't use AI to write the stories, though. The site doesn't accept AI-generated text.

To submit your stories, you need to go to your Control Panel(top right corner). Once there, you click on the New Story link at the top of the page. Follow the instructions provided, and that's it. Once you successfully submit, your story will appear as "pending".

Thank you.

I was not going to use AI to write! I had thought maybe having AI check my sentences for better phrases if that makes sense? I did not want to write and have it be confusing or not written properly. I am unsure how to say what I mean exactly.

Thank you!

I know what you mean, but the sentence correction that the AI does will also lead to your story being rejected by the website. In the submission process, your story will be checked for certain "tells" that the AI leaves in its wake. So using AI to fix your sentences and expressions is not a smart thing to do if you want to publish on Literotica.

This might sound crazy to you, but the "imperfection" of your sentences and expressions will be a strong sign to the website software that your story is your own and not generated by the AI. So my advice is just to try to do the punctuation and basic grammar right. The rest will improve over time.

I think you're explaining it well 🙂

But unfortunately the answer is still no. If you use AI to help improve or rewrite your text, it is still likely to be rejected by Literotica's system for the use of AI.

What you CAN do is request a volunteer editor in the Editors Forum here, and a human can help take a look at your story and provide suggestions for things like English grammar and structure, and probably even vocabulary and slang!

Just to clarify what @AwkwardlySet wrote: this forum and the story part of Literotica are separate. You can use the same log on information for both, but you have to upload a story by going to your Control Panel on the story side. Just click any story or list of stories, and if you're logged in you'll see your profile picture (currently you don't have one, so you'll see the "D" icon you have now) at the top of the screen. Tap/click on that to get to your Control Panel.

Even if you only need someone to look for misspellings or whatnot, you can always send me things to look over if you like ❤️ I read stories here as much as i can and love to read in general

Welcome to the Authors hangout :)

The best way to get better at writing English is to write write write and write some more :) - even on the PB LOL

For stories, keep them short to start with so you finish them and can submit them and get readers - having readers is a huge boost. If you try and write something too long to start with, you'll get yourself bgged down and discouraged. Short and simple is good an it will give you practice. IMHO 2-3 LIT pages (6-10k words) is about right for Literotica.

Pick an few english-language writers you like and enjoy and mdel yourself on them. Look at the way they write and the pgrases and wording they use. Read lots and look look look at the way they write.

DO NOT use AI for anything except research. Not for editing or checking anything. AI here is a can of worms and its best to stay away from it completely. You'll find volunteer editors easily enough - you just have to ask.

If you get stuck on anything, ask here. Lots of people willing to help out - even me when I have time LOL

The main thing is to have fun writing and don't sweat it. Write what you enjoy and what you want to write. Don't get hung up on grammer or wording - write the story as a draft, don't get hung up on the words and phrases - capture the intent and meaning and go back and edit it later, Writing something you know or that's close to you is always a good way to start.

The other place you call me and my family cowards for escaping Ukraine after a couple years trying and my mother was killed. You know nothing about me or my family.
But here you are nice and helpful. But I do not want your help. I will ask other people who have been friendly.

Two tips. 1. Use contractions. All native speakers use them and when you don't you sound overly formal. 2. No one is perfect, so do the best you reasonably can, and don't sweat it.

Case in point. Here there is a place for both and where not using one is for emphasis.

Thank you. Each conversation helps me! Learning all of the slang terms and the proper words for everything is challenging but I want to get a little better each day. I came from no English except a few words and now understand almost everything. I am having trouble with those combined letters. What is the word. Acronyms! Those do not help me! I need to learn many of those. And some curse words I know now haha. Slang I am getting better!
But ok I am and I'm yes thank you!

There's a lot of good advice here. I've edited stories for non-english writers, and all read very formally. For example - I am, we are, she is - I'm, we're, she's.

Read, and watch TV and movies. Listen to how they speak and try to match that in writing. Using AI will not help here.

Good luck, and welcome!

Thank you. A lot of good tips. I do watch a lot of tv! Some is hard to follow but most I understand and enjoy.
Ted Lasso was fun. Cape Fear is very creepy!

No worries. One other thing - write how your characters would speak. I wrote a few stories about Indian women visiting Australia. Their speech was very formal compared to my Aussie characters, and that is true in real life.

If you feel that you need someone to read your story and comment, let me know.

Good for you. Far too many people around here find a short memory is convenient, and that it's better to forget half the things Chloe says for the sake of getting along.

I'm glad you're safe, and I hope you can continue to make art. Feel free to pm me if you can't find an editor.

English is my second language and I have written a few stories here. Usually they get a little better which each one you write.
I would say our main problem is that our vocabulary is smaller, and the only way to fix that is to read more. So just read as much English as you can and then write a ton.
It will be great!

And as far as advice, sometimes it's a bit much. Take in the advice you get and then do what you feel is right anyway.
Good luck!

I just want to say that I'm really glad you've gotten a ton of support

If you ever have any other questions about any part of the writing process, please feel free to ask and, as you can, there are plenty of legitimately nice people who want to help.

Good luck :)

Yo estoy aprendiendo español. Veo videos musicales con subtítulos en español. Es divertido y estoy aprendiendo.

Besides watching music videos with Spanish subtitles, I've recently been writing some stories with a character who only speaks Spanish and is learning English with the help of her bilingual friends. Perhaps you could write a story that features a character who speaks your first language and is trying to help someone learn English. Maybe they fall in love. So it could be a plot device and a way to practice your skills.

LOL. So true. I'm far more in your face and opinionated on the PB but I leave that behind on the AH. Maybe that's a bit schizo but I enjoy the take no prisoners approach on the PB.

I ignore all that on the AH, of course. This board is all about writing and that's how I treat it. Anyhows, I am what I am - take me or leave me as you please LOL

I will always be the nice Chloe on the AH though LOL - over the years I've got a tremendous amount out of the AH, and I like passing it forwards.
