What I wrote isn't an attempt at 'Eubonics' (sic) or at Ebonics either (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebonics). What I wrote is pimp argot, specifically pimp argot as used in the Oakland area and it's a few years old, since I have had no work assignments in Oakland recently. Pimp argot tends to chage, rather rapidly. Thus, if I were to go back to Oakland, I would need to brush up a bit, before I made a fool of myself.

I'm not black and never claimed to be. In fact, in several of my past posts I have noted that I'm not only white, but so white white that I don't buy white sheets, so that I can tell where the sheet ends and I start. However, I have lived among blacks and I was also a very good high school long jumper. Long jumpers are very, very often black. When long jumpers get to major competitions, they trend to be almost all black. I also played football and basketball. A lot of the blacks I played/jumped against (and with) were not the kind who you find in academic competitions. In fact, a lot of them were little more than partially tamed animals (the same thing was said of me.) I didn't learn pimp argot from a book, I learned it from blacks, in the streets and in the playing fields. I still deal with the same kind of blacks in my work. (Most of them use pimp argot and not just for style.)

It might be inferred, from your comment that you are Negro, probably a partially educated Negro. However, you aint black. They say white men can't jump. I can jump and I would bet that you can't jump worth a damn, just from reading your insults.

I have also dealt with Rasta blacks in Jamaica. They also use an argot (actually a creole, in their case.) However, the Rasta argot is different from USA pimp argot.

Finally, I have been to the South of India. They have Caucasians there who are as black as any African Negro, so dark that they show blue highlights in their skin. (Little Black Sambo was a Caucasian.) Thus, I normally use the term Negro, as opposed to black. However, I used black, since that's the term you used.

Once again, you tell me that what I posted isn't what they use in the 'black ghetto' and, once again,you fail to provide me with examples of what they do use in the black gehtto. That last is understandable, since the type of attitude you show would very likely result in some free, unlicensed dental work in the black ghetto.

I was just pointing out to Og why there is so much political turmoil in the USA right now. I think being pissed off at Obama because he's black is the height of ignorance, but America is a very ignorant country. At one point, during the run up to the Iraq occupation, 70% of Americans thought Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11. The cluelessness of my fellow citizens is embarrassing.

I can't see that being a problem - here. He/She might be better than the current candidates.

We've had a woman as Prime Minister.

We've had a black man as our County's Chief of Police in Kent and we miss him now that he has been promoted.

We have had a black archbishop and several black bishops. The archbishop is highly respected for his erudition and willingness to challenge the defects of our society.

There is a minority in the UK who can't see beyond skin colour but many of the prominent people in the UK are not WASPs.

PS. We never had black slavery in the UK. (White Slavery? Yes. Villeins were effectively slaves until the Black Death of the 14th Century.) Black citizens were regarded as the same as white, brown and yellow citizens. Like almost everyone, they didn't have the vote until the 19th Century Reform Acts. After them, they might have had the vote if they owned enough property.

We did have 19th Century electoral discrimination against Jews, Roman Catholics and Non-Church of England protestants. Gradually the laws against them were demolished by support from the majority who saw them as equals.

During WWII, many rural communities had their first experiences of black men with US GIs. Until white GIs protested, sometimes violently, we tended to treat Black GIs as equally welcome and appreciated.

PPS. Shakespeare's Othello was a prominent person in his country's service. The audience of the time couldn't see a problem with that.

Yes, that's old school jive, it's bit antiquated. The same words crop up in the current dialect, possibly best described as hip-hop/gangsta rap, but the rhythm is a little different.

I used to half know some hip-hop when I was in the Nav, but there's maybe a Dozen Black people in the whole county here, so I don't hear it that much anymore.

Hip-hop has a white variation that contains a lot of Bronxisms, "yo", etc.

Rednecks have their own dialect too, I hear it now and agin'.
