Ruby swallowed hard as she quietly slipped out of the bed. Glancing once, twice, and then a third time at her master, she wondered if she could do this. Could she really escape this time? Rubianna was a slave to the devil. Yes, Satan himself. She'd been promised to him since she was a young little girl. In human terms, that was considered a betrothal, except in hell...it wasn't a betrothal , no one got married and the betrothee (Rubianna) was trapped in a loveless relationship.

Her long red hair cascaded past her shoulders as she stayed where she was. Could she really do this though? Her red eyes glanced over at the demon beside her. He was all she'd ever known. From 1800 on up. Of course in human terms that was 18 years old and up. She was now 2300. How could she leave the one whom she was promised to.

Why would she?

Because, she wanted a life! A life beyond serving her master in his rather meticulous ways of sex. She wanted to explore the depths of hell, see what else was out there. No, screw that! She wanted to explore Earth. There had to be something more than Hell.

There was something more than Hell.

She would NOT be bound to this place. Finding her resolve, she nodded firmly to herself and continued preparing to leave. She would not look back. That always caused trouble. When you looked back, it meant...it meant you wanted to find a way back to where you were running away from. Grabbing her red chiton, her wings descended as she began shifting into human form.

"Goodbye..." she whispered.

Still not turning to look back at him. She slipped out of the bedroom, closed her eyes and landed some town. Where she wasn't quite certain. However, Ruby was excited. She was free! After 5000 years, she was free to be who she pleased!

Beherit walked into Lucifer's main hall. He had been summoned very early in the morning, not sure why. He was one of the cheif guards of hell. A general of high status. He was one of the strongest demons in all of Hell. His job was to deal with the armies of demons. Every once in a while the devil would summon him for a specific mission. They were only the most important missions. Quite often he simply got to do what he wanted, wherever he wanted. His dwelling was as far from Satan's as he could get, he wasn't the biggest fan of his leader.

When he took a seat in the massive room Lucifer emerged. "Find her! She has run off and you must find her. Bring her back to me so she can be punished. Bring back Rubianna!" He didn't add more and left the room. Beherit sighed and left as well. Another of his slaves had escaped it seemed. Every once in a while one of the women would decide they prefered a life outside of hell. It was one of Beherit's jobs to find them and bring them back. Once they were returned they were rarely seen or heard from again. Satan was not one to cross.

He made his way to the exit of Lucifer's chambers and picked up the scent of Ruby. He then went to the gates of Hell and left to enter Earth. He arrived outside a small town and quickly found Ruby's scent in the air. She was somewhere in the town. It would just be a matter of time before he found her, but before he did he would need to appear human.

He stepped behind some bushes and changed from his demon form to his human shape, as a human he went by Brett. His deep blue skin quickly changed into a tanned complexion. His wings shrunk and then disappeared. His massive muscles shrunk to something more average. His 7' tall form shrunk by an entire foot. His short horns turned into hair that spread out over his entire head. His teeth changed to a perfect human smile. His red eyes turned to brown. Finally his long prehensile tail withdrew into his body. Once his form was changed clothes appeared on his body. He sighed and walked into the town to find Ruby.

Ruby was amazed at the sights and sounds of Earth. She was currently in what humans called...a ci-ty*. She hadn't been on Earth since the beginning of time and things had certainly changed. No longer did the humans walk to where they wanted to go, instead they stepped inside of strange contraptions that ...moved on their own and made strange growling noises.

It had scared Rubianna the first hour she'd been there. They also made BEEP noises when the contraptions got angry at another contraption for not moving quick enough.

"How ...odd..." she murmured to herself as she tugged her black and white dress down. Despite the fact that she had been Lucifer's slave, she still felt modest in such a dress. Too much of her legs showed and the human men seemed to be staring at her with a look of lust, (something she was not unfamiliar with).

Ruby had walked to an inn called the Hilton hotel. At least, from what one of the humans told her, it was an inn or at least a place you could stay. She stepped inside the door and jumped back as it made a ringing noise. How odd, did entrances speak as well?

Taking a deep breath, she walked to the counter. "Human, I would like a room if you please." She said with all the authority she could muster. Her voice was soft and lilting and almost sounded like a spoken song when she talked.

"I'm sure that can be arranged miss." The woman stared at her strangely before hitting a bunch of buttons. "We have the luxury suite available. Although, that might be too expensive for you.""

"I shall take it! And where may I find this...lux-ur-y suite*?"Ruby asked

"First I need...money."The woman said, sounding quite unhappy.

"Muny?" she asked, tilting her head curiously. "I do not believe I know what you mean..."

"Of course you don't, sweetheart." The woman began mumbling something under her breath before screaming, "GUARDS!"

Beherit, now as Brett, walked slowly through the city streets. He knew all about Earth and its new customs. Everything made sense to him. He loved it all. People were often so mean to eachother in the cities of Earth. In certain nations, at least. The farther away from the city center you got, the nicer they got, but there were some wonderfully evil sections of many cities. Humans could do some very bad things.

Brett started searching for his target. Ruby knew nothing of the modern human world. He figured she would be easy to find. She had no money, no food, no where to stay. Once he hadn't even needed to catch a runaway on his own. The human police in the area had done it for him. He had found her in a dungeon and taken her from there. He wondered if Ruby would do something dumb enough to make his job that easy.

As he searched he saw many things. Walking through the worst parts of the city he witnessed drugs being sold and used, three different thefts, and a beating. There were many other things he noticed as well. He did nothing about it all. He simply watched and enjoyed the sights. Eventually he made it into a nicer area. There were hotels spotted around the blocks. He started trying to find Ruby more. He focused on trying to find her scent. When he picked it up he grinned and followed it.

Eventually he found the Hilton hotel, but she was long gone from there. He went inside and asked the lady at the desk about any possibly strange women that had been there.

"Yeah, we had one homeless woman who referred to me as human and didn't know what money was. I think she was on some pretty strong drugs. I got her tossed out of here, didn't want her bothering the guests."

"That was my sister. She has some serious mental issues. She needs her medication. Can you tell me where she went?"

"No, the security guards dragged her out. They might be able to tell you, but personally, I'd check the police station."

Brett didn't thank the woman, he simply turned and walked away. He found a security guard and got a general direction. He started walking and soon picked up the scent again. He worked on trying to find Ruby. He stopped only once, realising he would need money. He found a human that appeared wealthy. He quickly dragged him into an alley and knocked him unconscious. He took the man's wallet and then wiped his memory. He used a little demon trick to learn all he needed to make use of the various cards in the wallet. He now had a usable identity. He returned to the street and continued tracking Ruby. It was just a matter of time, he would find her.

20 minutes before Beherit came into the Hilton

"Security?" Ruby tilted her head to the side, "Do you have demon guards here as well, please don't let them find me. Lucifer will never let me go, in fact he may lock me up in a cage until I beg for mercy...or leave me on the brink of satisfaction until..."

"SECURITY!!!!!" Came the human woman's sharp squeal as she frantically looked around and had her hand on a button underneath the desk. Suddenly, she was grabbed by two strong men. Despite the fact that they were human, they were still much stronger than she and were able to throw her out, ass first on the ground.

Human, Ruby found were very unkind creatures. No wonder so many of them went to hell.

"Theres a homeless shelter on the corner of 46th and Market." The big burly man said, nodding his head in the direction of the homeless shelter. Homeless shelter? She was not homeless...was she? Blinking a few times, she began wandering down the streets looking at the sights and listening to the sounds. At least, she didn't have to worry about pleasuring Lucifer.

This was great! This was what she wanted, a thoughtless life where she only had to depend on herself. However, her stomach began to make odd noises...a sort of growly noise. "What is wrong, stomach? Are you upset?" She asked, paying no mind to the people staring at her strangely. It wasn't long until she found the 'homeless shelter'.

They gave sustenance and had her sit down to 'eat'. She was not used to eating human food though. She would have preferred souls. However, she soon came to realize that when you were in a human body you required food. The food was tasteless and disgusting. Apparently, these so called homeless people did not eat very well.

Souls it is..she thought as she lured an old homeless somewhere quiet where she could feast on his soul.

Brett continued along the road. He started thinking about where Ruby might go. The humans seemed to think of her as a homeless person. She would need something to eat. He wasn't sure if she would go for human food, or a soul. If she went for a soul, he knew that the city was the best place to get it. He followed her scent, getting closer and closer.

He finally arrived at what was clearly a homeless chelter. He guessed she had been sent there by the hotel security. He went inside and pretended to be homeless as well. He sat at a table and ate. He didn't mind the food, he ignored the lack of flavor. He focused on spotting Ruby. His eyes scanned the room over and over. He could smell her there. He knew he was in the right place. He had her, she couldn't escape. She wouldn't recognise him in his human form, he just hoped she didn't pick up his scent. It would make things easier if he could catch her by surprise.

He laughed to himself as he watched for her. This was almost too easy. She clearly hadn't been in the human world very much. He would be back home and she would probably be no more in just a short while. He thought about it and felt like this would probably be his fastest capture ever. It was almost no fun at all. He considered the possibility of letting her escape so he could chase her down for a little longer. He could get her frightened and hiding from him. He could toy with her like a cat toys with a mouse. It would be fun, but he decided to simply catch her and return her to hell where she could meet her fate quickly.

Ruby licked her lips as the homeless man who had once been sane now sat mumbling things about female demons. She rolled her eyes which had turned a bright red after feasting on the soul and then back to blue. "Now, you be quiet mister homeless man. We don't want the whole world to know where I ---"

She crinkled her nose at the smell of...a demon...close by. She swallowed hard, shaking her head as she started back towards the homeless shelter cafeteria. She flicked her eyes over room full of humans. She didn't see anything out of the ordinary...but she could smell it.

Ruby was full and saw no need to eat anything grotesquely plain as the humans did. Plus, if her senses were correct, there was a demon hiding out in here. It was probably one of Lucifer's guards coming to bring her back. Shaking her head, frantically she took a deep breath and walked through the kitchen, head held high.

"Maam, you aren't supposed to--"

She whirled around and used the only power she had control of. Lifting her hand, a blaze of fire hit the stove and all its food causing the whole place to go on fire.

"Oops..." she said, innocently before walking out of the backdoor as the humans scattered running back and forth and screaming. It was the perfect chance for her to get away. Once outside, she began running faster and faster. Hopefully, the demon didn't know what she looked like in her human form.

Brett sat there in the homeless shelter and tried to spot the demoness. He smelled her, but he couldn't see her. He could only assume she was in a different room. He would simply have to wait. She would show her face eventually. He saw a woman in a doorway, but she left after a few moments. He looked carefully at her for the moment she was there. He wondered if it could be Ruby. He waited a little longer, then suddenly smoke started coming from the kitchen. It was Ruby, and she had done this. He growled and got up, walking calmly out of the shelter.

He took a look around for Ruby, but didn't spot her. The fact that she had started the fire meant she knew he was after her. He grinned. She was clearly going to do anything to get away from him. This chase could be fun afterall. Now he knew her human form, so it would be easier to find her. She was a naive demoness who knew nothing of the human world. He was an experienced tracker and hunter. She was no match for him.

He moved around the homeless shelter and picked up Ruby's scent once more. He got a general direction of where she was going, but didn't follow her right away. He first went and found a shop that sold vehicles. He morphed his appearance to match that of the rich man whose wallet he stole. He used the knowledge he had gained from him and the cards in the wallet to buy a moped. It was easier to get around the city with it than a car, and he could smell her better. He could also chase her pretty much anywhere with it.

He drove off on the moped and picked up Ruby's trail again. He changed his appearance back to his normal human form. He wondered where Ruby would try to go. She couldn't just run forever. He drove along the streets, moving through traffic with ease. He didn't care about the traffic rules. He had an escaped demoness to catch. He'd already lost time by buying the moped, but he knew that in the long run it would make his job easier. It was now just a matter of following her trail again.

Ruby watched the vast amount of moving contraptions. She figured she would need one of them before actually leaving the city. Damn it to hell! Plus she didn't have any of those...mun-ee things these humans asked for quite incessantly. She clenched her fists, glancing behind her every few minutes to make sure she wasn't being followed.

She wasn't sure what to do now, what if he caught her? What if he took her back to Hell. She would never be able to live it down. No, she'd be tied up and sexually tortured. At the brink of tears, Ruby sniffled and wiped her tears away. No, she would not cry. Demoness' did not cry!

As she stood by a magazine stand, she listened while the humans talked to one another. They didn't call each other human. They referred to them by name or...sometimes politely. She would have to adapt, somehow. Maybe she could get someone to help her out, keep her safe. She yawned as the sun went down. This human body also got very tired easily. Mayhap it was because she'd been running for quite some time.

Ruby walked into an apartment building and took a deep breath. Seeing a couple walking from the elevator she stopped them. "E-excuse me? I am...looking for a place to stay and..."

"Oh, just go to the office. Its straight and then make a right, alright?" The woman said.

"Thank you.."

Ruby walked straight, made a right and found a room called 'Office' She assumed this was where she was supposed to go. She walked in, "Excuse I am looking for a place to stay, only for a night. There is someone after me because he wants to see me hurt..."

The manager looked shocked, "Hurt you say? Sweet heart, does he...beat you." The manager woman had a look of concern on her face.

It wasn't a lie, but then it didn't really matter. She was a demoness after all. "...Yes?" Okay, this one demon did not beat her but she would get tortured in some shape or form. However, she learned that this particular human did not like the thought of a woman getting abused and decided to use this to her advantage. Messing with the human's mind, she made the manager see Ruby with a black eye. "He gave this to me..." she said.

"Oh no! Well, I'm sure you can stay here for a day, at least. Typically, since this is an apartment and people stay here at least a month or so..."

"Oh no! 30 days? I could never...he'd be here within a matter of hours or even days. Please..."

"Ah, well of course you can stay. That will be 50 dollars which is 50% off since it is a short stay." The woman responded.

"I..I left all my mo-ney at home." She lied

"Oh well I assume you were in a hurry to get away from your...husband? boyfriend?"

What was a husband? What was a boyfriend?

"Yes." She said, figuring that was the best answer.

"Alright, well...since you are on the run. I expect you to pay me when you can." the woman said and gave her a key. It was on the top floor. Room D23

Brett could sense he was getting close to his target. Ruby would be caught soon. He drove his moped until her trail seemed to stop. It was outside a large building. It looked like an apartment complex. It was dark. He was sure she was tired and needing sleep. She also seemed to be learning. Since he couldn't find any trace of her scent around the building, he was sure she was inside. He grinned. She had made a foolish mistake. She stopped. To out run Beherit you must never stop.

He parked his moped and walked into the apartment complex. He frowned, he couldn't pinpoint where in the building Ruby was. He walked into the office and saw a woman there. He smiled at her politely.

"Hello miss, I am here searching for my wife. She came here this evening, probably looking for a place to stay. You see"

"You!" The woman inturupted. "You are her husband?! Get away from here! I should call the police on you." She pushed Brett toward the door and watched him, making sure he left.

Brett walked out of the building and thought about what had just happened. It seemed that Ruby had claimed she was the victim of spousal abuse to get her room. He had to do something to get in there. He knew Ruby was there, he just needed to get at her. He wasn't going to do it without either fighting his way in, or tricking the land lady. He decided to go with the more subtle approach.

He first went across the street and got a room in a hotel. Once in his room he looked up the phone number of the apartment building. He picked up the phone and called. He heard the woman in the office answer and he used a female's voice.

"Hi, I'm calling because I am worried about my sister. I followed her husband after she called me and told me he was hurting her. She said she was going to try to escape him. I followed him to your apartment building and watched as he left again. He didn't look happy. I think he will return in the morning. I need to get her out of there tonight. I will be there soon. What apartment is she in?"

"Oh, is he really that dangerous? Why don't you just call the police on him?"

"You don't understand. He is more dangerous than you think. I tried to warn her before, I tried to get her out of there, but until now she never listened."

"She is in apartment D23. Make sure you get her to safety, and I will call the police. They will be here waiting for him in the morning when he returns to find her."

"That is fine. I just need to get her out of the city."

Brett hung up and laughed. This was too easy. He morphed his appearance and clothing to that of a woman's. He left the hotel room and walked across the street to the apartment complex. He went first to the office and gave the woman money as thanks for her help, trying to keep up the charade. He then took the elevator up to the proper floor, found the door to D23, and knocked.

Rubiana paced back and forth. Despite the fact that her human body was extremely tired. She knew she couldn't stay there long. The demon guard would be looking for her. Yes, she'd lied and tried to get out of being caught but..this was a demon guard. Not only that, she didn't know which demon guard was after her.

There were some who were nicer than others. If it was Beherit....

She swallowed hard, shaking her head free from those thoughts. He was well respected in hell for bringing practically all of the demon slaves back to hell. They'd suffered terribly, especially those who'd tried to outsmart him instead of coming back easily.

The sudden knock on the door made Ruby jump. She started for the door, but then frowned. She didn't know anyone on Earth. Who would be checking on her? Had the demon guard gotten in so quickly?

The closer she got to the door, the more demonic energy she could feel. She couldn't smell him but she could feel him. He'd found her again! Ruby shook with fear as she stumbled back away from the door and hurried to the window.

"You'll have to kill me before you catch me.." she whispered, silently to herself. Because if she were dead, Lucifer would have no need for a dead slave. She struggled to get the window open and cursed to herself because it was stuck and refused to open.

She backed away from the window and looked around the apartment. The only other option she had was to either open the door or climb through the air vent.

"COMING!" She lied before grabbing a stool and pushing it towards the wall. "One minute, I must get dressed." Another lie. She struggled to pull the air vent open and thought she wouldn't be able to do so until the door fell off with a clang.

She smirked and climbed up into the air vent, using her powers to bring the door back to the air vent and as soon as she was far enough not to be seen through the air vent, she used her powers once more to unlock the door. Only after writing a note which the demon guard would read:

Demon guard,

Do you really think you can catch me so easily? I'll die before I return back to hell. Catch me if you can! ; )

Rubianna

Beherit stood by the door and waited. Most of the demonesses that he chased were unable to smell him or even sense his presence. He assumed that Ruby would be the same. He saw no problem in simply waiting for her at the door. She would open it and he would have her. There would be no issue and no struggle. One he had her within an arm's reach there was no way she could escape. Yet Ruby didn't come to the door.

He could feel her. He knew he had the right room. Her scent was heavy. She was right there. He listened carefully for her. He heard her call to him as if she was a human about to go to the door. Then he heard a strange noise of metal hitting something. What was she doing in there? He began to grow impatient. He considered simply bashing the door in. He calmed himself and waited a short while longer.

Suddenly the door became unlocked. He quickly rushed in, but she was not there. She must have used some abilities. She had to be close. He growled. Then he spotted the note. He read it twice, not believing the insolence of the girl. He let out a furious roar, his voice loud and deep. Then he yelled loud enough to make sure she heard him.

I am Beherit! You shall not escape me! None can avoid capture by the great Beherit! YOU SHALL BE MINE!

He reashed out with his senses, trying to find her. He then spotted a stool by a wall. He looked up and saw an air vent. He growled and then left the room. He took the stairs up to the roof and changed back into his demon form. He stood on the edge of the roof and watched for any sign of her.

He knew she had some powers, but he didn't know how many or how skilled she was with them. If she could change her appearance at will, she may be more difficult to find. He hoped that she didn't. He had the image of her at the homeless shelter burned into his memory. She would be his, and he was no longer playing the game of pretending to be human.

She was getting closer and closer to the exit when she heard the loud bellow of the demon guard. It struck fear throughout all of her bones. She swallowed hard and closed her eyes, hearing his thread from the air vent. It was Beherit. Dear god, if she was unable to escape then...she'd die. No, no Lucifer would not be that kind to her.

I am Beherit! You shall not escape me! None can avoid capture by the great Beherit! YOU SHALL BE MINE!

Never! She would never be his, or anyone elses. She quite enjoyed being on Earth. If he knew what she'd look like, however... she would need to get some kind of disguise. Another disguise. He'd seen her human form most likely at the homeless shelter.

Just as she'd got ready to reach the top, she could feel that dark energy again. It was not a pleasant one to feel either, especially since she could feel that anger mixed in there.

Closing her eyes, she sort of wished she hadn't taken the vent way and that she was outside, looking completely different than she did. If she did then he would not be able to track her so easily.

When her eyes fluttered open, she was in a blue dress that slightly hung off her shoulders. Her hair was still red but she appeared to look slightly different.

She glanced up at the roof and could see Beherit, waiting there for her to come out. She calmly walked down the street with a group of people. If she stayed in groups, would he be able to notice her? Most likely not. Red hair, may be obvious.

Her hair slowly but not so obviously turned an auburnish-red.

Well this was new. She'd never done that before!

Beherit stood there for some time, waiting for Ruby to show herself. It was getting very dark. He knew she couldn't hide in the air vents forever. Eventually she would have to get out. He still thought she couldn't change her appearance. He never spotted her walking away among a crowd. He waited until the streets started to clear out. He focused his attention on the building below him, but he couldn't sense her anywhere. He let out a furious roar. She had escaped once more. It was clear that she could change her form. It seemed that the chase would be harder than he had expected. She was no ordinary demoness.

He decided to take a new approach. Instead of keeping on her trail closely, he would let her do what she wanted for a little while. Maybe if she felt she had escaped him she would start making mistakes. He would track her movements from a distance and watch for his moment. She couldn't avoid him forever. A life spent running from him would not be fun at all. He would not stop until he caught her, even if it took a thousand years. It would only be a few days, but he was determined to return her to hell.

He shifted back into human form and left the apartment building. He went across the street and into his hotel room. He still had it to use. He climbed into bed and rested. He would let her spend the night running from him. She would be exhausted. Perhaps her mistake would be to fall asleep during the day once she felt safer. He could catch her sleeping. He grinned and fell asleep.

In the morning he woke and ate human food for breakfast in the hotel. He would avoid souls until he caught Ruby. That was even more motivation added to what he already had. After eating he left the hotel and picked up Ruby's scent again. It was faint, but he could still follow it. He got on his moped and started to ride, following her path from the night before. It was very clear that she really had changed form and walked right past his searching eyes.

Humans were funny creatures. She did not realize that you could get paid to dance as you would in hell. She'd walked into an establishment that night and there were plenty of human females taking off their clothes. Apparently, since she was not embarassed at the sight of female body parts (having some of her own female body parts) the owner of said establishment assumed she wanted to work there.

And apparently, she got paid this...mun-ee thing as well. She quickly agreed and got paid early that night by men stuffing green paper (which she soon learned was mun-ee) and paid for a hotel near by.

She'd gotten off of her 'work' at midnight giving her minimal hours to sleep. She knew she could not rest long though. Since Beherit was on her trail. At the very least she now had mun-ee to buy things with. Also, her appearance changed from day to day since she knew not what Beherit's human form resembled.

That morning, she forced herself to eat the breakfast the hotel brought to her. It was much more tasteful than the food at the homeless shelter. In fact, she quite enjoyed it. She also thought it would not be good to have eaten a soul because it might send some clues to Beherit to where she stayed.

Having rested and eaten, she decided to visit a place called the mall with some of her work friends. They were dressed in what looked like their underwear. It did not seem to bother Ruby though. The other humans, especially ones who seemed joined at the hip to their males seemed upset about it though.

"Oh! Lets go into Victoria Secret. We can probably find some super sexy stuff for work." The girl named Vivianna said.

Ruby nodded, "Yes, we shall go there. However, why is it that Victoria would make it a secret if people can visit often?"

"Oh Ruby, you're so funny!" Viv said as she pulled the auburn haired demon into the lingerie store.

Beherit, as Brett once more, rode his moped until he arrived outside a strip club. Ruby's scent was strong there. He figured she had stopped in. If she was learning about humans he thought she might have worked there. It was no where near as bad as what she had probably done for Lucifer. He now knew where she worked. He could check there again in the evening to see if she returned, or if she decided to move on.

He picked up her scent moving away from the club. He soon found her hotel. He walked the halls and discovered what room she was in. He was closing in. She had slept at least for a while. He was probably just an hour or two behind her at most. He quickly moved on and followed the trail. It wasn't long before he arrived at the mall. That was where he ran into an issue. The mall was so large, and Ruby's scent was spread around enough that he couldn't pinpoint her.

He thought of why she might be at a mall. It wasn't somewhere that made sense for her to visit unless she had been taken there by someone. He wondered where she would have made friends. If she had worked at the strip club she may have met and befriended the strippers. He started looking for a group of women who were comfortable with their bodies and not afraid to show off some skin.

Searching the mall proved difficult. He decided that as it came near lunch time he would wait in the food court to see if she arrived. He needed to confirm his thoughts. He wouldn't try to catch her just yet. If he knew what she was doing, and could watch her establish a pattern of behaviour, he could formulate a plan. One was already starting to form based on his guesses of what she was doing.

The human females dragged her through the store of scantily clad clothing. She still found this odd, but blamed it verily on the work they did for a living. After all, how could you work in an establishment where you took off your clothes and not be comfortable about being around undergarments.

As soon as they were finished buying costumes for their performance that night, they'd walked into the foodcourt. The girls seemed to complain that they were hungry. "Lets go to Subway!" Viv said

"Are you kidding? All those carbs? No fucking way." One of the females by the name of Karen said. "I prefer chinese food."

They walked past a few people and as soon as they entered the food court she felt that energy again. Her body tensed and she turned around, trying not to make it obvious. "What about that...vegetarian place?" She said as her eyes scanned the large food court. He was here.

She swallowed har. He wouldn't dare...not when there were too many humans about. Would he?

"Great idea, Ruby!" Viv said leading the girls to the vegetarian place. If there were not so many people Ruby would be able to see who was looking at her. Damn it!

She quickly ordered her food and walked to a table once she had recieved her food. Instantly, she regretted choosing vegetarian but quickly reminded herself that souls were out of the question at the moment.

Brett sat at a table mindlessly sipping on a drink. His eyes scanned the food court, watching carefully for any sign of where and who Ruby might be. He reached out his senses, trying to find her. Then he spotted the group of women. They were barely dressed. He could sense Ruby there with them. He didn't know which one she was, but he imprinted their images in his mind. He continued watching as they picked somewhere to get food.

He continued to subtly watch them from across the room. His appearance changed to make sure he was the least noticable person there. He studied the girls for clues about which one was Ruby. Then he noticed it. One of them looked nervous. She also seemed to not be enjoying her vegetarian food as much as the others. He was sure it was Ruby. He memorised her appearance and continued observing her. He could easily infiltrate her group and get his hands on her, but he would wait for the right moment. From the look on her face she clearly sensed him. How she did it he had no idea, but she had ablities beyond what she should have if she was a normal demoness.

After a while he got up and left. He would let her enjoy her afternoon for a while. He went outside and waited. He sat on a bench and relaxed. From his seat he watched the main entrance to the mall. It was where her scent trail led in to the mall. He would see if she left through that route. He wondered if she would stick with her new friends of if she would leave and go off on her own. Either way he would stay on her trail.

As Ruby forced herself to eat the vegetarian dish, she felt the evil energy fade. Wherever he was, he was no longer in the food court. This was good, either he couldn't find her or...he was waiting outside for her. Just to be on the safe side, she made sure that she left with the girls.

"Okay, well...ladies.." Viv said as they walked out of the mall, Ruby immediately stopped paying attention as she felt that dark energy once more. It was strong, he was somewhere close.

"Ruby, did you hear me?" She swallowed hard and looked at Vivian with a smile. "No, I apologize greatly. My attention was elsewhere. Please, repeat yourself?" Ruby said.

"Girl you need to get off the coke. You're acting really freaked." Viv said, "I was saying we should all head home, get some rest and..."

"NO!" They looked at her strangely. Well, if Beherit did not know whom she was now, it was probably more apparent. "I-I mean, I enjoy your company immensely. We should partake in a..." Ruby glanced around, "in a movie.." She said after catching sight of a building called a movie theater. "Come let us go!" She said, quickly dragging them to the movie theater.

She paid for their tickets and hurried inside. After a few moments of 'commercials' and listening to the girls grumble and complain. She glanced around, her appearance slowly shifting. She needed to escape and fast.

Quickly, she found an exit and hurried out of the theater.

Beherit reached out with his senses and felt Ruby getting close again. He smiled and waited for her to exit, but she didn't. She got no closer. He felt her going away. He growled and started growing frustrated with her. Her abilities were going to be difficult to overcome. He started wondering if his patient technique was going to let him down. He got up form his seat and went into the mall. He intended to find her and get close. He hoped that her ability was only to sense when he was in the area, not how close he was.

He searched the mall top to bottom for an hour. He went to every store and every room. He found no trace of her, he couldn't sense her anywhere. Eventually he spotted her friends. She was not there. He could hear her friends grumbling about how Ruby had dragged them into the movie and then ditched them. She was certainly a clever one. He was surprised she hadn't attempted an escape from Hell earlier. She was quite intelligent and had some strong abilities. It was very annoying.

Beherit angrily left the mall and searched out Ruby's scent. He picked it up and started to follow it once more on his moped. He followed for a while until he couldn't contain his anger at her any longer. He parked his moped and walked into the nearest alleyway. He spotted an unlucky person who happened to be taking out the garbage. He let out a roar and took his anger out on the innocent person. When he was finished all that remained was a pool of blood and a few scraps of flesh. Beherit stood there in demon form, blood all over his face, down his chest, and coating his arms. He breathed heavily, calming himself. He would find that damn demoness. This was his most difficult hunt yet, and it was pissing him off. He tried to relax and decided he should enjoy the hunt. He would just make sure she paid for her defiance of him.

He cleaned himself up and returned to his human form. He got back on his moped and started to follow her scent again. He would get her, and she would be punished. Not only when she got to hell, but when he got his hands on her. It was even more reason to get her. He shouldn't make use of her since she did belong to the devil, but if he was going through this hunt, he felt he deserved it. He would consider it part of his reward for returning her.

Rubianna had been running for hours. She looked at the time. She would need more money and therefore, she reverted back to her old look when she returned to the strip club, her outfits in hand as she walked into the dressing room. Everyone turned and glanced at Ruby. Her human friends glared at her.

"I am incredibly sorry that I abandoned you the way I did." She apologized pulling out a black corset with a matching g-string. She pulled her clothes off, her full breasts bouncing as she did so. She pulled her lingerie on and looked at them. "Can you forgive me. Twas a huge emergency that I had to attend to, however I did not wish to disturb you all whilst you watched the movie."

"Whatever." Viv said, waving her off.

Ruby swallowed hard, knowing that it was Beherits fault that she had lost her human friends trust. From outside, she could hear the announcer call her by her stage name 'fallen angel' and when she walked backstage her real wings spouted out.

Apparently, the humans found it amusing to see her get undressed with naught but wings on her body.

Beherit searched for hours trying to find Ruby. Her trail went to random places. It seemed she was simply trying to escape him. He stopped and thought of what she might do. She couldn't run forever, and she didn't know much of the world. He attempted to imagine if he was in her position. What would she likely do next. He figured she might need money. He decided to return to the strip club and see if she was there again.

He arrived and could smell her fresh scent. He reached out and could sense her. He grinned. He had her now. He went inside and took a seat. He didn't have to wait long before he heard a stage name he assumed must be Ruby. He watched as the curtain opened. There she was. Real wings and all. He was surprised that she dare show her wings. He didn't wait. He knew she would sense him.

He stood up and proceeded toward the stage. Then he suddenly started to run. "Ruby, you're mine!" He leapt up toward the stage. Suddenly, out of nowhere, he was hit by something big. It was a guy, trying to stop him. He yeled loudly and tossed the man aside. He started rushing toward the stage again, but by this time many men were attempting to stop him. Maybe he had miscalculated his plan. He started fighting his way past the men trying to stop him. They were no match for him, even working together, but they slowed him. He yelled after Ruby. "You can never escape me. Never!"

It took him a few minutes to fight off all the men, but by that time he couldn't get to Ruby. He left the club and started to search for her. He decided to go to his hotel for the night and think of his next move. He was too frustrated to think clearly and catch her that evening. He got to his room and started going through all possibilities. He finally came to the one idea that could work. His main problem was that she could sense him. If he could stop her from doing that, he could get close enough to catch her.

There was one way he could do that, but it meant serious impairments. He could use his powers to turn himself to a human, or nearly. He had to pick a form and stick with it. He couldn't change shape, voice, or anything. He also wouldn't be able to sense anything. He would be able to pick up her scent, but that would be his only remaining ability. However, he would appear, and to any demon senses, feel human. It would be enough for him to get close to her. Then he could reverse it, return to his demon form, and have her in his clutches. It was his best opportunity. He decided to go through with it.

He chose the form of the man whose wallet he had stolen. He would be able to still use the resources. He focused hard and spoke some words in a lost demon language. He could feel his abilities dissipating. He could no longer do so much that he had been used to. He felt weak, empty, useless, but it was needed. He looked out the window and vowed he would have Ruby within the next day. He slid into his bed and got some rest, needing it even more now that he was stuck in human form.

The moment the curtains opened, she could feel Beherit staring at her. Her whole body stiffened but she continued untying her corset as she glanced around. He wouldn't dare show himself in front of all these humans, would he? One lone man started towards the stage. It was typical for humans in this sort of atmosphere to do such a thing, normally they slipped those green pieces of paper called money in a females underwear.

It wasn't until he'd gotten so close to the stage that she knew it was Beherit. She slowly backed away, bumping into the stripper pole as he screamed at her.

"Ruby, you're mine!"

"GUARDS!" She screamed and within seconds a large man tackled him down. She grinned evily at Beherit as he claimed she could never escape him. We shall see, Beherit.. she thought to herself. As long as she was surrounded by the human guards, she was safe.

"You can never escape me. Never!"

Ruby swallowed hard as Beherit fought the guards off, she knew deep down in her heart that they would be no match for his strength. She had to leave and she had to do so...immediately! Quickly, she rushed off the stage and hid in the dressing room.

"Who was that, Ruby?" Vivian asked.

"A..." her voice trailed off, knowing she couldn't say he was a demon guard, "He is someone who has been following me for quite some time."

"A stalker? Wow..." Karen murmured, "and you haven't even been here long. I wouldn't get back onstage if I were you. We'll tell you when the coast is clear."

Eventually, Beherit had left though which left Ruby in a bind. How was she to live a normal life with him following her everywhere she went. "Vivian, I know you are upset with me. However, I do not think it is safe for me to --"

"Don't worry about it. Sure you can stay with me.."

After work, they both arrived at Vivians place where she was bound to be a bit safer. When she went to sleep, she had odd visions, part of her in heaven and another part in hell. As she awakened she was unsure of what it meant. For the whole day, she stayed close to Vivian though until it was time to go back to work later that evening.

Beherit woke in the morning and started calling himself Andrew, the name of the man he was pretending to be. He ate breakfast, having felt very hungry for it. In his new form it really tasted much better. He enjoyed the meal and then started his search for Ruby. The form he had used the night before had been his typical human form. He now looked completely different. He didn't worry about her recognising him.

He drove the moped to the strip club and used his one and only ability to pick up Ruby's scent again. He began following it to find where she had gone. It led him to a home. Apparently she wasn't at the hotel any more. He guessed she was staying with a friend. An idea started forming. He wanted to catch her that day, but if it didn't work, he could try something new. He couldn't believe that Ruby had been able to avoid him so long. While it angered him, it was also starting to impress him.

He followed her trail all day, looking at the places she visited. She was definitely staying with a girl. He had no clue which one, but he could figure that out eventually. He tried to catch up to Ruby, but throughout the day he never quite got to her. When he got to the club in the evening he contemplated his options. He could go in and try to get near her, but he knew that he could have a hard time. He decided that he would go with a different plan. It would take more time, but his knowledge of humans was enough that he was sure he could manipulate them into giving Ruby into his hands.

He didn't go into the club, instead he waited outside and observed. He made notes of everyone entering and exiting. He paid close attention to the girls. He watched them closely, trying to pick up on personalities. He wanted this to be his last plan, and if it was going to work he needed to be disciplined and detailed. By the time the club emptied and everyone had gone home he had all the information he needed. In the morning he would start his new plan. He had vowed the night before that he would have Ruby, but he had to break it. He knew he had been hasty. No more.

Ruby had gone through the whole day without having to run. It was a nice change though she was certain it would not happen for long. Eventually, Beherit would pop out of nowhere and try to capture her. As best as she tried to act normal, it was hard to with that thought in mind. However, evening came and thats when she became even more so scared since Beherit now knew where she aquired her money from.

Guards surrounded the stage this evening, which was a relief and she hadn't sensed him or smelled him anywhere near. It would've been easy to smell because he had a deep musky scent mixed with charcoal.

She danced and earned lots of tips that night, feeling somewhat relaxed. It was about time to go, both Vivian and Ruby stepped out of the club. As Ruby got into the car, Viv stuck her head in the open window. "Hey, I'm gonna smoke a cigarette then we'll head home."

Ruby nodded, though she bit back a sigh. She could smell Beherit near but did not see his human form nor could she sense him. Was the smell remains from the night before? She was unsure.
