Beherit watched as the girls left the club. He spotted Ruby, still looking the same. It seemed she was really not going to run. It meant his new plan had a great chance of working. He just needed a way to make sure she could trust him. He had it all coming together in his mind. He had every detail set. He just needed to put it into action. He watched as Ruby and the one he thought was named Vivian left in a car. It seemed Ruby was staying with Vivian. That left him the perfect opportunity.
He watched the rest of the girls leave and took note of Karen's lisence plate. He also picked up her scent. It was much fainter since she was a human, but he could still follow it. He stored it away in his memory and returned to his hotel. He slept through the night and woke in the morning to start on the path to capturing Ruby. He first checked out of the hotel. He rode his moped to a nicer part of town and rented a vacant apartment. He then went to the bank to check on Andrew's accounts. It turned out he had hit the jackpot with a son of an extremely wealthy business man. The real Andrew was somewhere out there not even sure of who he was.
Beherit went then to get his hair cut and dyed. It was to make sure no one recognised him. He went then to buy an entire wardrobe. He spent the day shopping, buying clothes, furniture, and everything needed to set up an apartment. He made sure it looked like he had lived there for quite some time. By the time it was evening he was exhausted. He slept and got started on the next phase in the morning. He rode his moped to the club and followed Karen's scent. He traced her to her home and made note of where she lived. Then he followed her path the entire day, trying to learn about her as much as he could. A few times he got near her and observed her behaviour. Once he was sure he knew enough about her he went home for the night.
Once again in the morning he started his day. Through the day he happened to cross paths with Karen on a few occasions. He said nothing to her. It wasn't even in ways that she was likely to remember. It was important though. This went on for a couple of days. He didn't bother checking on Ruby at all for a week. Then he finally made his move to meet Karen. For five days they had stood in line at a coffee shop together, though he never said a word to her. That day when he got to the counter he ordered his regular drink, and then ordered the drink that Karen always got as well. He turned to look at her and smiled. "If you don't mind, of course."
