well it seems likely that it matter greatly whether we're using a gel or a paste. Paste uses grit as part of it's cleaning component so I would guess that it may be a little rough for anal play. I would think that toothpaste would make a poor lubricant. The mint may act a little like altoids when sucking cock and cause a nice tingly sensation.

Safe anal play requires plenty of lube, and toothpaste isn't slick or lubricating (actually, it's very drying, which is why it's a long-standing home remedy for pimples).
