Experience with Viagra and the like?

I'm taking testosterone (bodybuilding) and have taken viagra a few times. The added sex drive along with the all night boner is awesome. I've had four orgasms during a 90 minute period with viagra. I've also tried cialis and it works just as good but last about 2 days. It's kind of embarassing when you get hard at any time of the day.

I’m 52 (pushing 53) and have been using Viagra for about 1 ½ years. About 2 ½ years ago, I began to notice that some of my erections weren’t as hard, didn’t last as long and that recovery time was becoming longer and longer. Over about a six month period it was becoming mor3e frequent and I was pretty upset thinking that something was seriously wrong so I spoke to my doctor. He said to me “I guess that you don’t want to hear that it’s age, do you?” He suggested Viagra before looking for bigger problems and it worked just great.

What I’ve found though is that I want to use it all the time because sex is much better than when I don’t use it. I guess that’s because the age thing keeps going up farther and farther and the tool is trying to keep pace. My wife and I enjoy sex a lot more because I don’t have the psychological fear that I won’t be able to stand tall when the time comes. Consequently, I can concentrate on her pleasure which then increases my pleasure. It also allows for more teasing and longer sessions.

When I don’t use it, there is the tendency on both our parts to “strike while the iron’s hot” which takes a lot away from the enjoyment for both of us. The both of us being aware of the possibility seems to effect our lovemaking sessions. Also, once I do cum, that’s one less gun in the arsenal that I can use to please her. While it wouldn’t bother me at all to be a little softer, it does bother my wife. She knows that I enjoy the sex much better when I’m harder so she sees the glass as half-full.

Have you gotten the benefits you were looking for? Were your expectations met?
Actually, it was better than I thought. I was told the effectiveness was about 3-4 hours but I notice a difference for about 12-24 hours after taking it. My wife was thinking that maybe she didn’t turn me on anymore, and now she knows that’s not true.

What have you experienced in the way of side effects? How miserable were they?
Worst side effect is the sinus congestion which sometimes causes a headache. Drinking lots of water before and right after taking it minimizes that a lot. The face flushing doesn’t bother me much. I don’t notice that much of a difference in effectiveness that is supposed to be associated with eating a large meal. It still seems to work for me. The one negative is that it does take anywhere from 20-60 minutes to work. All-in-all I have to say that the side effects are nothing compared to the benefits. I get the 100mg pills & cut them in half (prescription plan pays for the same amount of pills regardless of dosage). Sometimes the pill cutter doesn’t line up perfectly & I’ve had a large difference in the sizes and subsequently the effectiveness. Even the smallest chunk seems to work just fine but the bigger piece causes the “blue light” effect which I actually enjoy.

Has anyone tried ArginMax or any other non-prescription remedies? How well did they work?
I’ve been told by several people that the non-prescription remedies don’t really work and they are non-regulated so the side or long term effects are really not known. I have never taken any since the Viagra worked so I can’t speak out of personal experience. I do have a doctor’s app’t in two weeks and I intend to ask about Levitra & Cialis and hopefully get some free samples to make my own comparison test. If I do, I’ll let you know.

I'll be seeing my doc later this week. It should be interesting what he has to say and what he suggests for treatment. Now I can bring more to the discussion than I could have with just going on the net to do research. What I found there was either real clinical or real sales-y.

Btw, my dosage were 50 mg blue pills. I cut them in half as well. The pill cutter doesn't work very well with these because the white powder falls out once the blue cover is broken.

I don't notice a difference between 25 mg or 50 mg.

Also, I have noticed that it works faster if you are fasting. It takes 20-40 minutes for full effects in my case (75 kg approx). I don't have effects for 24 hr, but I notice that it lasts at least 6-8 hours.

Went to the doc the other day and left with a little less blood (testing for a few different things including testosterone level) and a little bottle of Levitra. He is participating in a post-marketing effectiveness study so I get my first dozen pills for free in return for completing a short questionnaire after each use. Not a bad deal given the cost of these puppies.

Am on a 10 mg dose and have used one pill. The result was acceptable, though not as hard as chinese arithmetic. But it was enough to get the job done. My only side effect was a mild headache. Had eaten a full dinner about 3 hours before, including a couple glasses of wine. Next time I intend to try skipping the wine to see if that makes a difference.

Will report back to let you all know how this goes.

In case anyone didn't already know, Viagra, Levitra and Cialis all work on the condition of existing stimulation. They are not aphrodisiacs.

In my most recent use, I lost interest before starting and there was no effect from the drug at all until I regained interest sometime later.

Not that this should be a surprise if anyone has read the literature, but I thought I'd pass it on for anyone who hasn't come across this nifty little fact.
