I love facial hair, just neatly trimmed -- no long Amish-type beards for me 
My husband keeps a moustash all the time. Once he shaved it all off without telling me, then came into the bedroom to kiss me. He looked just like the mechanic who used to work on our car who also goes to our church! I nearly had a coronary! Needless to say, he doesn't shave like that without telling me first anymore!!

My two cents.
If it's neat and clean...keep it.
If you're more comfortable (cooler, etc) without...shave.

Mrs G more than happy with mine; provided ONLY ... that I don't head south immediately after a trim - the ends are too sharp!
Years ago, My then 2 year old son in church... Christmas, the VERY QUIET bit (Ssshh madam....) at the start of Away in a Manger when some nervy 8-year-old girl is attempting the first verse as a solo ... and my son, who has been bouncing on my lap and stroking my pate and my face very thoughtfully ... SUDDENLY pipes up and very loudly says: I know Daddy, your hair fell off your head and went all over you face, AND [pauses and peers more carefully...] AND up your nose!
Cue the furtive sounds made by 400 hundred peope trying not to giggle too loudly ...

1st <checking> nope I'm not a woman...
But as a bearded guy, I just thought I would add my 2 cents worth.
I do trim it on a regular basis, about every three years that is.
My beard is older than some of the members on this thread; I last was clean-shaven (facially that is LOL) on the 6th of October 1981. In a little under two years I'm going to register it to vote. So can some of you younger ones have some respect for your elders (my beard that is, not me)!
When I did shave I didn’t suffer from 5 O’clock shadow at 5 O’clock, I used to suffer it by noon. This meant that I had to shave 3 or 4 times a day to look clean-shaven, and that was such a pain not to mention a barber’s rash or two.
Some like it some don’t, some are intimidated by it (and me) some aren’t, but it is still me no matter if you see me with or without in your minds eye.
So "love me, love my beard" or not as it pleases you.

Ez, in 1981 I was 4. Hee hee hee... At any rate though, I do respect my elders and I LOVE facial hair on men!

Ok I'm sorry I failed to explain fully.
I was bearded from 1978 to 1981, but I shaved it off to get a job, I knew that the company would not employ me with a beard so off it came.
3 days after starting work I had a full enough set of whiskers to call it a beard again.
And yes you would have still beaten it then, but it would have been close.

Well any way she likes the clean shave but she wanted to see what I looked like with a Goetee, so she gave me one.. and now she wont let me get rid of it.. that and my long hair.. she seems to love it too and my hairy chest too
