Fall of an Empire

Looking up at his new friend Folknar knew right then and there he could trust him. "Thank you Bolbar. If I do not come back with the group I hAve a few things I'd be proud to have you do for me. First of all, if I die, bring back my sword to my mother, and look after her for me in her old age. Next, if we have reached what we seek, my friend Steelhelm, a direct descendent of the great dwarven king had asked my help in recovering the crown of his fore fathers. If I die, I want you to make sure you bring it back to him so he can restore his people to their glory. Last but not least, If I die, I want you to have all I possess. It's not much I admit, but I hope it can make up for some of the injustices these people have placed on you for not being able to choose your parents." with that he made a small cut on his palm and held it out to Bolbar..

"I agree. But when we get there, I have a good idea of what to do. LEt's go directly to my room", he said, smiling mischivieously.

Bolbar

Bolbar nodded solemnly and, cutting his own palm, grasped Folknar's hand in his. "Now, let's travel soon before we all die of old age."

Drusilla blushed yet smiled. "Do we have time? We don't want the others to leave without us" she said a little breathlessly.

Folknar

Smiling with relief Folknar wrapped his palm and with Bolbar strode off up the street. Turning into the first food store they found they ran into Randel and Krista trying to come up with enough money for the food Randel had bought. Walking over folknar gave them the last few coins needed to pay the bill and helping them gather it up they all headed down the street to the inn. "I'm sorry you ran into some problems back there in the store, but I hadn't thought you would buy such a variety of foodstuffs to eat. Perhaps after this we'll supplement what you bought with things we can forage." as he finished they arrived back at the inn where they met up with Silverwolf and going inside got lunch.

Departure

After they had all eaten their fill, Folknar got up and spoke "Okay, everyone, get your gear and meet us down at the stables. Randel, could you find Lokken and Drussilla for me? Krista, please make sure the food is packed. Bolbar, you and I will handel the gear, and Silverwolf, please run up to Steel Helms and get our stuff, I already paid for it. If thats it and there are no questions, let us get moving, we still have a couple hours of good traveling light ahead of us all." at that he and Bolbar went up stairs to get all the equipment together and the others went about their jobs.

Bolbar

The huge horse grunted as Bolbar swung onto its back, casting one eye backwards to look at its new load. All of his gear was carefully packed away in the saddle bags, and his fur-lined boots hung comfortably in the large stirrups. He settled back in the saddle, feeling good about starting their mission. He saw Folknar finishing loading his horse, and they waited for the rest to join them.

Folknar stood by his horse next to Bolbar and he nodded to Lady Krista as she came out along with Silverwolf to finish loading their mounts. Looking around he saw that Randel had loaded his horse and was headed inside just as Drusilla and Lokken both appeared carrying their things. After they had put their stuff onto their mounts, Folknar cleared his throat. "My friends, let us mount and be off!" and following his words with action he swung into his saddle and leading the group rode out of town away from the way he had come in, a fateful day before....

Drusilla smiled as she mounted her horse ready for anything that might come her way.

OOC: I'm still here I'm just wondering where Lokken went off to

OOC: Sorry, but when life catches up, it enjoys shoving your face into the mud.

IC: Lokken smiled at her. "I'll leave a note. Perhaps we could ride to the forest for it, though? More romantic, I think", he said gently, swinging onto his horse. He began to trot to the forest.

Bolbar

Bolbar stared back at Lokken, then turned to Folknar and the others. "Where he going? I thought our road go that way."

"It does, I guess. Never mind, I guess. Me and Drusilla can catch up later", he grinned, then wheeled his horse about.

Folknar

Looking at the rest of the group Folknar grinned and shrugging his shoulders simply said. "Kids" and laughing the group continued on it's way for a long way down the road. At around midday Folknar called a halt and getting out of his saddle stretched some very sore muscles. "I think this would be a good time to catch a quick meal and a rest till the two kids get back" he said as he grabbed some bags with food in them.

Folknar

At this point a few miles to the west of the group of adventurers another group of beings were meeting. In a glade near the road a few figures huddled around a small cooking fire talking among themselves. "When will he get here?"said one, "Soon, soon, he made no pretence of trying to hide his leaving." another said. "Does it matter? We will soon have him in our hands and we will get what we need from him." said the first. "True, true, what of the others? What do we do with them?" said a third. "Kill them if you have too, but we need HIM alive." replied the first again. Then looking up with a grim face he spoke again "Today Randel faces the judgement he has eluded for too many years."....

Whoops!

Oc: Soory gang, that previous one was supposed to be a different title... (sheepish grin).. anyhow, the title was supposed to be "A Meeting in the Woods"

OOC: No prob.

IC: Lokken kissed Drusilla while still on his horse. "Drusilla, I'll be back in a little while. I'm going to scout up ahead", he said quietly. He didn't have too good a feeling about leaving her alone, though. After all, weren't those the words, other than the name, that Lord Wrathlance of the Tarasques had spoken to his fiancee. And she had been brutally murdered. He shook the thought away. Then, he rode forward swiftly.

Drusilla frowned as Lokken rode up ahead. Glancing around she wasn't so much worried about herself. She knew she could take care of herself. She was worried about Lokken, she knew it was stupid, he was quite able to defend himself. Sighing softly she rested her hand on the hilt of her sword and awaited his return.

Notice

Gang,
I've enjoyed this thread a whole lot, but we've run into some problems, one we're missing some key players so it's become bogged down, second of all, I let us sit to long and not have any action so the story went and committed suicide. :p So, here we are, one mangled thread and a bunch of MIA's. So unless I here overwhelming PM's about keeping this running, I'm going to axe it by next friday. Thanks for the good times and the wonderful writing, I'll probably start a new thread in a couple of weeks, depends on what ideas I can scrape up to use. Thanks again.

OOC:

Sorry to hear about the death of this thread... keep me posted on any new ones you plan on starting... I'd like to join if I can...

M.T. (aka Vixen)

ooc: I was having fun with Bolbar, and the barfight was a good time. But then everyone got involved in the details of shopping, and some took off on other-thread plots... Ah well.

Sorry...

Guys, I'm killing the thread, I can only really run two at a time with any sort of ability so this ones pretty much DOA anyhow. So, thanks again and check the new one out at The Last Kingdom.
