"You are a little to tense for something to not be bothering you," he said softly, putting his arm around her shoulder.

She leaned her head against him. "It's the caves. I'm not sure why, but they're making me nervous," she told him softly. "And I told Issak this. Apparently he needs his ears cleaned out."

"But Jep, I don't know what's causing it," Al'ika said. "How can I talk about it if I don't know what's causing it?"

"You were underground for about a week going through hell, that might have something to do with it," he said.

"Maybe, but I don't know. . . I was feeling some unease before that," she said. "I just kept it hidden. But I can't hide it now."

"Just let us know so we can help. Let's go back in and look after Brom," he said trying to distract her.

"Thank you," she said, kissing his cheek lightly. She got her fireball out again and began playing with it again, getting lost in the flames.

A familiar, friendly masculine voice rang out in her head. "You seem calmer since our last meeting. Have you resolved things with the boys yet?"

"Yes, although Issak was pissed off for a while," Al'ika said back quietly. "And we're at odds again, since something's troubling me and I won't tell. But how can I tell if I don't know what's wrong?"

"Makes sense," he said, "Maybe have a look into your book. If you've worked out your difficulties there should be a very basic divination that can get to the root of your problems."

"Maybe I should do that," Al'ika said. She smiled as she held up her fireball. "I know they're all concerned about me. . . What page is that divination on? And should I be alone when I do it?"

"It's a head trip, and it's in the beginner divinations section. Pretty easy to find," he replied. "Finish up what you're doing and I'll make a special trip to the village for you and Edioz."

Al'ika smiled. "You got yourself a deal, Jester. Oh, one thing before I do magic-y stuff. . . Were you able to hear my cries for help a couple weeks back?"

"I did, and I am sorry, but I was taking care of a large demon portal and unable to come," he said. "Have a good evening." he went silent.

Al'ika smiled softly. Extinguishing her fire ball, she stood up and went into the cave again. Not speaking to anyone, she fished out her book and began learning the divination Jester told her about. Soon, she did the spell.

Next thing she knew, she was on the ground, crying, curled in a ball, begging for. . . well, she couldn't hear what she was saying. It was as if she was deaf.

Al'ika breathed deeply and began to focus in on herself, on who she is, who she's with, what she is, and focused.

As she focused more, Al'ika realized it was her own voice she was hearing, and the calmer she got, the clearer her issues became. It was like walking through a storybook.
