Al'ika continued fighting the giant with Keth, and once it was finally down, she looked over at Vagnor. "Need help?" she asked.

"If you would be so kind," he said. The giant was heavily wounded, but that just made him charge the wizard harder.

Al'ika finished the giant off, slicing it's throat before jumping back, breathing heavily as it fell. "Damage report?" she rasped.

Keth had taken a fair few hits, while Vagnor, who had been well back out of range, had one or two sizable bruises on him.

"Alright, I don't care how I look," she said, tipping a Hallowbrook special down Keth's throat and tossing earth salve over to Vagnor. "So don't tell me."

Al'ika saw him looking her over, and she kissed his cheek in appreciation. "Now that we have solved that problem child, shall we move on?" she asked.

"Let's before they come home and see the mess we've left for them," Vagnor said, peering about the treeline nervously.

"The centaurs," he said, "Look at all the hoof prints around. You know what they like to get up to once they get angry."

She chuckled. "Yes, but they love me, and I think the giants were pillaging them," she informed him. "You'll be fine, as long as you don't open your mouth."

Thundering hooves began charging through the forest, and spear wielding horse men appeared, leveling their weapons at them. "Looks like we'll have a chance to find out," the necromancer said.

"Hush!" she commanded the older mage. She set down her staff and sword. "Teliq, how have you been?" she warmly asked the centaur in front of her, smiling happily. She motioned for her companions to set down their weapons.

Keth sheathed hos blade, and Vagnor leaned on his walking stick. Teliq looked the scene over. "Al'ika, I did not expect to see you with a death dealer and an orc. What is going on?"

"Very long story, my friend. The necromancer is a recent acquaintance, and no, I don't like his magic much either. The orc. . . well. . . he's my mate," she said, running a hand through her hair. "Ashglow brought us together. We're currently on a mission to go get an ingredient so I can beat Ashglow and Silverblade." She gave a weak smile. "Surprise, Teliq."

"I still don't trust that one," he said, pointing at he wizard. What do you propose to do to guarantee he won't ruin us?"

She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. "He knows that I can rival him in arcane magic, and he knows what lineage I came from," she said. "If he ain't scared of that, well, then it's a good thing I have the son of Ashglow and an orc on my side, eh?"

"You are correct, it seems," he said. "But do try to move on to another campsite. He is distasteful to us and there is a cave on the next hillside over."

She smiled and gave a little bow. "Of course, my friend. I will try to stop by sometime when I'm not on official ranger and mage business," she said. She boldly went up and kissed the centaur's cheek. "And you're welcome for getting rid of the giants that have been pillaging you and your tribe."
