Fashion gurus..help please!

I actually have the same issue as you, and I've had a kid! My cleavage has a life of its own. I don't have to wear a turtleneck, but I generally will wear boatneck or fairly high cut on the neck shirts to work. I wear turtlenecks when it's cold.

Summer is really the worst, because I just want to wear loose comfortable clothing with no sleeves, but it's not really done here. I just want yell, but it's hot! Button down shirts are the most appropriate, but I really feel uncomfortable in them. I was actually thinking I should open a clothing store that sells fashion forward clothing that's also appropriate for a professional job in a conservative office. Maybe I'll start a website. I mean, JCrew, Banana Republic, Gap - I can't wear a lot of the stuff they sell. It's just too flashy or casual. But I'm not completely stuffy and Brooks Brothers, ya know? And Ann Taylor is just too dowdy. Boo.

Oh God, THANK YOU! Now I don't feel like such a freak!

When I worked for Hewlitt-Packard I was told that I had to wear either a suit or very professional looking separates with no sleeveless shirt and little to no clevage. Wtf...I was so limited in my clothing choices that I had to literally go out and buy an entirely different work wardrobe. I felt like such a nun...:(

Is your ribcage narrow too?

Um, I don't think it's that narrow, but I'm pretty hourglass. Tiny waist, hips and breasts. Everything clingy makes me look like a hooker. An expensive hooker, however. Anything baggy makes me look dumpy. It's taken me a looooong time to figure out sophisticated career wear that isn't totally frumpy. Actually, I don't mind "frumpy" as in librarian, but I want it to be flattering. I love pencil skirts, and wide legged pants. It's the tops I have the worst time with. I'm really going to look into a clothing website for this, I swear.

Please. And make fat bitch sizes for me. :D

I have the same problems with my boobs. Unfortunately, button downs don't fit worth a crap, either, because to get 'em big enough so that the buttons don't gap at the widest part of my breasts, the rest of the shirt hangs hugely, and I look pregnant. *Sigh*

Yeah, I have that problem with button downs too, when I do wear them. Which is rarely because I just don't like how constricting they are. But anyway, there is apparently a company that makes shirts accoridng to bust size.

And I will sell larger sizes in my genius store, but I can't say fat bitch! ;)

See, I'm just the opposite of you. I'm hourglass but in a larger way. Built like an amazon, to my dismay. I'm 5'10 and 170 pounds...Size 13-14 tall pant, large in shirts...I have large hips, breasts, butt and thighs and a narrow waist. Finding pants that fit me is nearly impossible!

Wearing baggy clothes makes me look huge and not in a flattering way, although my coloring and build makes it easy as pie to wear bold prints and flashier patterns than many women couldn't pull off.

Tight clothes emphasize my lower body in a way that I don't necessarily like. I generally wear either a fuller shirt with a narrow pant/skirt or a fitted shirt with flowier-looking pants/skirt just to seem balanced, although I generally try to take advantage of one good body part such as cleavage, waist or legs.

But for some reason my narrow ribcage makes my breast tissue spread north over my chest instead of sitting down over the torso, which makes finding tops with shelving in them also, nearly impossible.

Oh no - I'm the same as you. I'm just tired right now, and left out the rest of the explanation. Tiny waist, big boobs, and curvy hips. I typically wear what you wear too, although I've found good luck with the pencil skirt and high heels.

I've noticed since I've started losing weight that I haven't lost it anywhere except my legs. This is confusing to me since when I put -on- weight, it went almost everywhere.

So, miniskirts are becoming an option to me soon. Although I do love the trend of wearing colored tights underneath, so I will stay modest to a degree.

Where do you buy shoes?

I usually lose it in the bust first, and I need it to start coming off NOW because these girls could put an eye out.

Where don't I buy shoes? Vintage/consignment for high end stuff. Nordstrom sales. I buy banana republic shoes on ebay for cheap. Just fun stuff. I look a lot on Bluefly, but I never buy there. These days I am more focused on repairing my shoe treasures, because I can't afford to spend that much on shoes anymore. I have a pair of chanel shoes that go with everything, and I keep replacing that heel over and over again.

Popping in to say I love Zappos.com. They have a jillion pairs of shoes but the coolest part is they pay for overnight shipping both ways. :)

I browse a lot on zappos, but for some reason I've never yet pulled the trigger.
