Favorite All-Time Cartoon

OK here are my choices

The best all time funny cartoon was Tom and Jerry. I hated it when they talked later on when Chuck Jones took over. But the orginals were great slapstick.
And there was this one little mouse the Chuck Jones created for WB that never took off but I loved and that was Snuffles the Mouse. He wore a little cap on his head, had a coat and a pair of pants and big dutch boy kind of shoes and had a scarf around his neck. He has this high little voice and he talked very very fast with hardly any breath between the words. Now he was cute.
Also one cartoon that has not been mentioned that I watched alot as a kid was Top Cat.
So there are my choices.

it is probably really wrong of me, but i hate jerry.
he is such an antagonistic little rat.
he was the cause of all of tom's woes.

Someone tell me somethin! is jerry male or female?

In some eps its dressed like a girl and in others its a guy and in most cases nakid  so I can't tell lol.

I tend a switch favs alot and I watch ALOT of japanese anime but I wouldnt consider those as cartoons.

My fav for the moment is Samurai Jack :D so cool!

great choices Spenser and it is good to see you. Have seen/heard from you in awhile, hope all is well with you. I agree about Tom and Jerry, I didn't like it when they talked later on. At first I didn't think I knew Snuffles but when you described him I do remember seeing that one. Also this morning I thought of Tom Cat, but when I started this thread I forgot him again. He was a great cartoon. Another one that someone mentioned on the radio, that noone has said here, Fat Albert. The Bill Cosby cartoon. Thanks for contributing and if you think of some more please come back and share with us.

I would assume that he was a guy! Jerry with a y is a guy and Jerri or Jerrie would be a girl. Or at least that's how it is with Toni and Tony.

Rocky and Bullwinkle ... my all-time favorite, hands down

Other favs were
Yogi,
The Flinstones
The Jetsons
Popeye
Animaniacs
Mighty Mouse

Favorite cartoon: flintstones. My hubby resembles fred lol...and barneys a hottie.

This is what started the whole thing. The radio station did the birthdays and said that today was the birthday or anniversary of The Flintstones Sept 30,1960. Yeah it was such simplicity but very cute show. The women had such patience and always knew what the guys were up to but acted like they didn't. I loved Bam-Bam and Pebbles.

Well of course. The Flintstones where a carbon copy of the Honeymooners. So what you saw on The Jackie Gleason Show was their way of showing their respect. Also many famous actors did guest voice shows. By the way thanks for the welcome TT. Yes it has been awhile and you are so nice to remember me.
Oh and I am looking for a pic of Snuffy.

I had never really realized that they were a carbon copy, but you are right in the similarities! Duh, I was just a dumb kid that liked the cartoon!!!! I did watch the Honeymooners though!

I don't think anyone has mentioned one of my all-time favorites:
DangerMouse. It was a spoof of British spy shows. DM was a super spy and he had an assistant who was a gerbil named Penfold. His one and only opponent was a frog named Dr. Greenbacks. It was really a stitch.

Well well

Here is a kick in the pants.

SNUFFLES - was Quick Draw McGraw's dog who loved the dog biskets and went nuts when he would get them, floating in the air and coming back down. Only then would he do his job. So that answers that.

SNIFFLES - was the mouse and was drawn by Chuck Jones and was only in a few films back in 1939. Here is a pic of Sniffles.

Sniffles seems to bear a strong resemblance to some other cartoon mice, but I can't place them right now. Anyone?

there was one, a mostly terrible one, that was in the 70s. it was just like scoobydoo but without scooby doo. you could tell that they really were high. i can't think of the name of it, but i seen it a few weeks ago on late nite.

also, in a demented sense, sealab 2020. it should be on later tho,

When Chuck Jones took over drawing for WB cartoons, Speedy and some of his friend all kind of looked like Sniffles. Since Jones created them and many of the WB cartoons they all had some simularities.

How about Heckyll and Jeckyll? or Woody Woodpecker?
My daughter used to be nuts about He-Man and She-ra! Or the Thundercats?

That would do it. These days my son really likes King of the Hill, and I have to admit it's got some very good stuff every once in a while.

And then, within the Rocky and Bullwinkle show, the Peabody and Sherman series was a good bit of fun, as were the fractured fairy tales.

I never heard of that one. But it sounds like it was probably pretty good.

I remember Snuffles, but did not remember the name.

And I do remember seeing Sniffles before. He is a cutie.

Oh yeah! Excellent choices. I had forgotten about Heckyll and Jeckyll, and I loved Woody Woodpecker in fact for awhile I was told that I laughed like Woody!

I didn't ever watch He-Man and She-ra, but my younger brother did. He also watched the Thundercats.

I liked Peabody and Sherman show. And also Felix the Cat, with his magic bag of tricks. My son never has seen those. However, Dexter Laboratory is alot like the Peabody show.
