Favorite "flavor" of erotica?

Okay, to be serious, and back on topic, I love to read well-written, mainstream lesbian stories that include a nice dose of steaming hot, erotic girl-on-girl love scenes.

If they also peg both ends of an unwilling straight guy, that's a bonus. I've yet to read that in the mainstream stories. But here's to hoping.

Lesbians, you got to love them. Wait, that came out wrong, I love men.

So, I'm posting this for anyone who'd like to share and/or talk about their favorite kink/fetish/category/theme of erotica
Mine is bdsm themes, more specifically domination and submission
I'm a simple guy. Mine...fucking in all its forms. WhoooWaaa!

Comshaw

With a few exceptions (I used to think my interests were broad spectrum until I got here) I prefer unusual and unique stories. They can include a common trope (poker night, loss of virginity, etc.) but those need an oblique angle to work. Almost any category or situation if it's Different, and I haven't read a hundred similar ones before.

The characters have to be intelligent (cerebral a plus, but non-essential) and I am partial to a well-described setting and some built-in ambiguity in the characters' motives.

I like to have a writer seduce me. Paint me a picture with words, let me be spellbound with your languid prose, caress my interest so I cannot stop reading.

The dominant woman and how she mistreats her submissive male puppet. Humiliation. The naked male or female forced to serve well dressed couples at a party.

I don't specifically only read one genre of erotica.

If I have time to go to the "New" section, I just go straight down from the top and start reading.
If I like what I've read on Page 1, then I'll continue. If I do not, then I go back and click on the next story.

I get asked to read a few stories almost everyday before they are published as well.

A lot of flavors of erotica do it for me. But the one that stands an order of magnitude above the rest is the one that I write.

Seductive, wicked women that wrap their men around their cruel little fingers in exquisite agony with a three prong strategy of teasing, humiliation, and denial.

I like anything with non-human characters. Monsters, aliens, demons, and anything else that's a humanoid but not considered human that engages in sex. Not sure why but I assume it's just the pure fantasy factor. Started off reading things of that flavor and eventually started writing it.

Interesting. Just like my real life relationship, I like stories about dominant trans women who fuck guys and make them service them with nothing in return. Except of course, the exquisite pleasure of giving her the ultimate pleasure.

Hmmm, all the choices, everything looks so good...

I like BD but I don't like SM, there's something about pain that I don't like (You complain that it hurts) ok, there's that, but I get nothing out of it. However many years ago I had a lover that said "Please don't make me cum" (What kind of thing is that to say to a guy?) Absolutlely right, challenge excepted lady. (She loved it) She sure did. I LOVE reluctant orgasm stories like the ones written years ago by lynn_bb and Mistress Maria

Most of all I love well written off the wall stuff sci fi stuff like my friend @MediocreAuthor brought with Eldritch Pact and I love the Female Sexual Response series. My absolute favorite is The Hole by sex4every1. It's in the Non Human category but I think it should be in sci-fi. (you don't get a choice) Thank you for the reminder, but it is truly wild! Check it out

For sexual gratification, I masturbate to porn or (shock-horror) have actual sex with my real-life sexy wife.

I look for a lot more than sexual gratification here, and rarely find it. If I had to sum it up, I'd say I look for male POV heterosexual femdom, with a lot of psychological conflict, where the female protagonist "wins" a Pyrrhic victory. My own stories usually come closest to what I want to read.

Oh, wow, specific story recommendations. Fun idea, @Duleigh ! I've queued up Female Sexual Response and The Hole to read later.

Masquerade by defiant_1 was probably my first favorite, for its depiction of a loving, monogamous, married couple trying out BDSM. Same for Nothing More Gratifying and others by MarthaD . I still go back to many of their stories. Kind of shocking to realize how long I've been on this site. I remember the excitement when they came out with a new one.

A Good Wife is more latex-focused and leans maledom where there's any power play, but I love the FMC's delight as her husband starts getting into her fetish.

Always the struggle when your story fits in multiple categories.

I crave relatability and realism, both in how characters behave and in how the world of the story feels. Ironically, my go-to genre is I/T, which as it stands is rife with 2D characters fucking each other silly in unbelievable circumstances, but in theory can be fertile soil for delicious, down-to-earth storylines. For me the taboo is much tastier when writers know how to dial up the psychic distress and real-world barriers holding characters back while still keeping their sexual tension high and central to the plot.

I’m also fond of the rare story that knows how to take a really wild and unique sense of voice and run with it. Novel writing can lead to novel orgasms. I myself am not so good at hyper-stylized prose. But I deeply admire it in others.

Finally but most preciously, I seek contagious writerly enthusiasm. That Oomph. Stories that double as marathon displays of love for the craft. I relish reading ANY genre so long as the author is clearly having a blast at every turn, nothing feels like filler, and I know even while I’m reading it for the first time that I will def be rereading it and taking notes next time. Granted, this is an absurd standard to hold any one author to, but it’s a lovely thing to strive for, and the best I can do at describing my most favorite “flavor” of erotica.

bondage and spanking but only if it is not really painful. those scenes where they get welts and leave marks are not for me. just kind of playful spanking and some hair-pulling. voyeurism/exhibitionism, age gap, spit roast

Slow, fast, tender, rough, lethargic, fast-paced girl on girl is my favourite, for (I'd hope) obvious reasons. Meaningful dialog, long walks on the lava fields, shark-wrestling, cat-suits and laser-blasters are all gratefully received. I'm not picky, just old and warty enough to know what works for me. :)
Death and the Maiden certainly worked for me. In spades. Anyone on this thread should check it out. Particularly Sandman fans.
set of mammaries!

Or is it manatees?

Oh hell. I will never remember this any differently.
