You are only as old as you feel. At least that is how the saying goes. Though when you are fast approaching the half century mark, you definately start to feel older. You don't like some of the things you use to, and the things you do like, such as women, might not be looking to you the same way.
Tim was married once. Though that seemed like another lifetime ago. It didn't end well though that wasn't something he talked about anymore. Though that didn't stop him from living his life.
He still had a job though and he wasn't one of the most popular people on the street. He walked down along the city streets of the downtown region and would check parking meters. In short, he was a meter maid. Though the walking was good for him as it helped to keep him fit. Though the job came with stress, he learned to just smile about it.
He caught site of the blinking red light of a meter and walked over to see what it said. He could tell the car would belong to a younger person just by the way it was decorated. Sometimes it would take such a lesson as getting a ticket to teach a young person that it could happen to them as well.
He took out his touch pad as he walked around to the back of the car. He would first key in the license plate number. First to see if there was anything else on the car already and make sure it didn't come back as stolen. Doubtful in this neighborhood it would but one could never tell. He liked to do this though as it would give the owner a chance to get out if they saw him. Once he would start the ticket, he had to finish it.
He stood there in his uniform. Shorts a shade darker blue then his shirt which was tucked into them. Buttons done up to the collar. Salt and pepper hair was combed neatly under his cap though it would be poking out some. Eyes were behind a pair of transition glasses which were dark because of the sun.
