Feelings about nudity

looove nudity! sleep nude, walk around home nude, nude now in fact.....and going to the nude beach today! :D

I sleep in the nude, as does the wife and i walk around the house naked.

When i was based in Germany in the 1980's i joined the NKK, the german national nudist society, it got me discounts at camp sites all over europe.

The europeans are very open about nudity, and there are all sorts of shapes and sizes from kids to senior citizens at the camps.

The atmosphere was always fun and open, and they were suprised and pleased to meet a young british soldier who enjoyed and respected their way of life.

And yes before you ask there was LOTS of sex going on, i even got invited to some adults only campsites where all manner of sexual activities went on, in public and in private.

Remember this was well before the days of places like "hedonism"
in the caribean.:p

The biggest majority of nudist campgrounds/resorts in the USA have rules against open sex. They generally promote themselves as "family" oriented, and there are a number of families that do show up. But I do know that there are a number of "swingers" at the places I've been too, but whatever sex occurs is private and discreet.

Nudity is a way of life

For me naturism is characterised by the practice of communal nudity. Nudity is seen by most people as being the most obvious aspect of naturism. While it is true that nudity is central to naturism, it is also a means of encouraging self-respect, respect for others, and for the environment. To approach another person completely naked is an act of trust. You are saying, in effect, "Here I am, completely unpretentious, with all my physical imperfections on view. Accept me for what I am, and I will accept you as you are. What you see is the whole "me" as I really am." Such an attitude can only engender mutual respect.

You feel really close to nature when you discard your clothes and feel warm sunshine, fresh air or cool water on the whole of your body. Being naked outdoors gives you a great sense of freedom.
Being naked in the presence of others is a pleasurable experience, but it is pleasure in the nicest sense of the word. It is very relaxing and enjoyable. You won't find naturists nervously leering at each other - they are open and trusting of each other, accepting each other's imperfections, and respecting each other's personalities.

The ideal way to experience true freedom is to get right away from the everyday world and city life and relax in the mountains, in the forest, beside a river or at the seaside. There you can shed your clothes whenever the weather allows and enjoy the sun and air on your body. You can swim without a wet or sandy bathing costume. You can enjoy the feeling of being part of your natural surroundings. Running on a remote beach or on mountain trails is also exhilarating, especially when done in the nude.

lady tango

I can understand exactly what you mean, most of the clubs and camps i attended in Europe were very family orientated.

And to be honest, as most beach's over there are topless anyway, being naked wasn't that much of a huge step for most nudists.

I loved that fact that i could relax around a group of fun, pleasant naked people, and you tended to forget you were naked after a while. Except around the BBQ!!!

At most of the campsites the sexual stuff was very private and usually took place in the evening, funny how the same women you had seen naked only hours before, and had sat talking to, looked sexy dressed up, go figure..lol.

The actual "sex camps", for want of a term for them, were on the island of Silt, in the north sea off the german coast, and on a danish island just to the north of silt.

These places were very much adults only, and sex was the order of the day!:p :

The clothing optional beach that i have been to is so open and friendly you definitely forget that you are naked.

They have volleyball games going on all the time.

They also have a place where you can get something to eat.

The best thing about the place is that there are cops that patrol the area for lurkers. If the cops don't chase them away then the lifeguards will.

The last time I was there I had an awesome time. There was people talking and hanging out like they knew each other for years. After a few minutes of me sitting there, the guy asked me what my name was and introduced me to everyone else. Then he offered me a drink from his cooler.

Just like any beach, there are people that treat it like a meat market but hopefully they understand the meaning of NO.

I do want to check out a few nudist resorts. I found one that is only an hr drive which is not too bad.

"Singles are admitted all year as long as the males don't exceed 20% of the visitors"

It seems to me that nudism here in the USA get a bad rap by certain right wing commentators.

Although some naturist organisers do shoot themselves in the foot, the nudist camp just for kids that was on the news recently springs to mind.

There were always lots of kids at the family sites i went to in europe, but their parents were also there! Allowing a camp just for naked teens does seem like a well thought out idea to me!!

A well run family orientated camp, with stuff for the kids to do, is always a great place to spend some time, and no-one stares for long..lol...they are mostly just enjoying the sensation of being naked, and trying not to get mosquito bites on something important:eek:

I wish people over here would lighten up a little, this is still a country were there are no public beaches were you can walk around topless, and you can get a ticket in someplaces just for wearing a thong bikini!!??

I dont know about other places but there are a few nude beaches down here in South Florida and 1 topless beach. I know there are a bunch of other nude beaches and resorts in Florida but considering I live in South Florida I can only tell you about this region.

I do agree that the USA has to lighten up on sexuality. What happened at the Super Bowl was uncalled for but please its just a boob . I am not a religious person but I do blame the churches on alot of what is wrong in the country. I can go on and on but this is neither the time nor the place.

my 2 cents!

Its good to hear that there is at least one topless beach over here..haha.

But then again Florida has always had a beach culture, and the weather to go with it.

I agree with you that this is not the right thread to discuss the rights and wrongs of sexual repression, far too heavy:mad:

Although you have to remember that the pilgrims who landed on Plymouth Rock were driven out of England because of their extreme puritan views...haha.

For Etoile:
I'm not sure exactly where that was, i do remember seeing it in print, and also catching something about it on the tv.

It is local laws, rather than state ones, certain beaches are very much for families, were as others tend to attract a younger crowd, i'm not sure if they actually issue the tickets or not, but they can ask you to change into a suit that covers more of your body:p

I love being nude. Cant go around outside the house, but nude inside when possible. We have a nudist park close to where I live. Always fun to go there and go nude out in the open air.

yeah it's nice being nude. One of these days I'm going to go to one of the many nude resorts here in Florida.

Great Florida Nudist Beach

Hi: Our favorite nude beach in Florida is Haulover, just north of Miami Beach. It is an "offical" clothing optional place, so no hassles with the law or prudes. A very informal "governing" organization provides periodic patrols to keep pervs from bothering you. I've gone there with my husband, in a group, and alone, and I have always felt comfortable. The peope are friendly but not pushy. There are times when I am content to sit and read and not talk, and my wishes are respected.

An earlier poster mentioned the Isle of Silt, to which I can only say, "Whew!" My pussy required three days of rest after our visit there. Out in the open sex is not for everyone, but give it at least ONE try before you are carted off to the retirement home!!!

I agree about Haulover Beach. It is very comfortable there. People are very friendly and within a few seconds you forget that you are naked. Just like any other beach you do get hit on but everyone knows what the word "NO" means.

Where is Isle of Silt?

German sex camps

BiCuriousInFlorida asks, What is the isle of Silt?

I quote from an earlier posting on this board: "The actual 'sex camps', for want of a term for them, were on the island of Silt, in the north sea off the german coast, and on a danish island just to the north of silt." I think the spelling varies -- Silt or Sylt -- but whatever the name, the fucking is free-form and fun, and you can always find an amenable partner. Given that I am bi, I tend to let myself run loose and wild. Two trips thus far and we look forward to returning next summer.

I love being nude too

Just moved to a house with a pool and we have built a privacy fence all around. I love it. I take every opportunity to go outside completely nude. It feels so wonderful and free. Skinny dipping is wonderful too. It feels so right. Sitting out sunning and even having a bit of foreplay out by the pool is so hot.

I find nothing wrong with nudity. As long as people are comfortable with it so am I. After living here in Europe I wish I could take their level of thinking and put it in the minds of some of the stuffy americans!

I agree completely, after living in Europe for two years is was hard when I returned to the states and had to conform to America Socity rules.

nude glorious nude

I suppose I'm extremely lucky that most of my friends are of the pagan persuasion and have no qualms about getting nekkid at the drop of a hat.

I love being naked, I love feeling the elements against my naked skin, as was said one night in a ritual, being skyclad (naked) means there is no barriers between you and the gods and you and the other people, there are no socio-economic barriers - you are all equal.

I sleep nude, have done from my mid-teens. On rare occassions will I don clothing for sleeping and that is usually for reenactment events because it does get cold at night when you are sleeping on the ground in a cotton tent!

99% of my friends have seen me naked, I don't actually own a swimsuit so from September to April most of my friends see me naked in their pools.

My upbringing, was an open one, I didn't exactly walk around naked all the time but would wander between my bedroom and the shower etc.

I love to be nude.

One time I went snowboarding by myself. Well on the way home, I pull over and went for a walk. Well shortly after starting my walk, I stripped naked and walked for an hour or so. Just me and nature. Oh and LOTS of snow. It was great. Just wish I had someone to fuck or service out there.

I've recently had a few days holiday and the weather was very pleasant for this time of the year in northern Europe so I took the opportunity to visit my local beach where nudity isn't outlawed.

I was with my girlfriend as I wasn't sure being a women on her own would be safe but we had a splendid time relaxing naked. Even though it was mid week we met a lot a people on the beach and we had a great time chatting, walking along the seashore and sharing a pinic. I am really hooked on this lifestyle and would recommend it to others.

Isle of Sylt

Etoile, many thanks for posting the photo site for the German island. Goodness but the cliffs are crumbling rapidly! Although the photo is not dated, deterioration seems much more advanced than during our last visit, two years ago.

I think all of us feel better when we are free to shed clothes and be right up there next to Mother Nature. Once people shed the notion that being naked is a prelude to sex, they tend to be most comfortable with the freedom. We are careful to keep a divide between non-sexual nudist pals and our more "advanced" friends (i. e., those with whom we share sex).
