It's funny, my girlfriend and I are both definitely femmes, but we both have such a thing for butches! We're very happy and we've been together for more than five years, but we love to drool over k.d. lang together. There's an interesting debate in the butch/femme community over whether or not butch/femme mirrors hetero relationships, and if it does, are butch/butch and femme/femme relationships "more" queer than butch/femme couples?

Wow, I thought I was babbling, and people thought I made good points. That's nice to hear.

actually, i was thinking about this the other day too. there are so many huge questions when it comes to f/f relationships. especially for young, exploring bisexuals like myself. hetero relationships are easy enough because we're raised around them and people make movies and write books about them and everyone and there dog feels like they have the quintessential love advice to give you.

But f/f relationships and homo relationships in general are so controversial still. i always feel like i'm blundering hopelessly in the dark when it comes to women. the roles are so complex as there are more of them now (femme/femme, femme/butch, butch/butch!). and a lot of the times, the roles are so blurred or inverted that sometimes they dont' even seem to exist.

most people begin figuring out how to handle the opposite sex in their prepubesence and hopefully have learned at least the fundamental "rules" by the time they're done highschool. It's a terrifying feeling meeting a women at later stages in life, realizing that you know nothing about how to be with them, especially since more is at stake when you're dealing with adults (as opposed to hormonally charged adolesents)....

(now THAT is a rant!)
