First album you bought

Fun thread!

First vinyl: MJ Thriller. I was 9 and so in love. That fold out pic of him reclining. Sigh.

First cassette: (two at same purchase): A-Ha - Hunting High and Low and Pet Shop Boys - Please. 1986 was a great year for music.

First CD: Harry Connick Jr. - We Are In Love

12 inch Vinyl = Bee Gees - "Main Course" ( the album before Saturday Night Fever...yes, I can spot talent..haha)

45 rpm = "Seasons in the Sun" Terry Jacks

8 Track = Barry Manilow 2.

the first album i ever owned was Led Zeppelin's 'Houses of the Holy'... for an Easter present... i put it on and was disappointed it was skipping, then realized it was supposed to sound that way...

First album i ever bought was Black Oak Arkansas' Raunch 'n' Roll Live'

When I was a kid, I bought the Grease soundtrack at a garage sale as an 8 track and played it til it broke. My first record was the Annie movie soundtrack with Carol Burnett. My first cassette tape was Bon jovi, Slippery When Wet. I was in the 4th grade and my dad ripped it out of my tape deck and crushed it when he heard "Love is a Social Disease " coming out of my room. Not the most appropriate song at 10 yrs old. Lol. My first CD was in 8th grade, Debbie Gibsons Electric Youth. I loved her. Ah, memories. Hahaha

I can't remember what my first cassette tape was, I had a bunch, but my first CD was 'Tubthumping' by Chumbawumba. I was 11.

I believe it was by John Mayall's Bluebreakers. It was in response to what somebody else liked. Unfortunately that person turned out to be very unpleasant. It's a decent album as I recall and yes, I still have it. But I haven't played it in a very long time due to the bad memories.

The first Boston album. From the first song to the last it's still a great album almost 40 years later.

The first album I remember getting (other than Hansel and Gretal) was Glenn Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy"

First three...

Glass Houses Billy Joel
Tattoo You The Rolling Stones
Ghosts in the Machine The Police

I don't remember the name, but it was a Grand Funk Railroad album.

I think the first one I owned was the Music Man soundtrack (thanks Dad!), and the first one I bought was Enya. Both on CD.

If memory serves me correctly after all these years, it would be Jethro Tull's "Aqualung". Still really dig their music.
