But is there any way to let a guy (who you're most likely a) tossing a salad for or b) handing fried chicken to) that you're interested?

besides busting out with 'omg you're hot do me on that table over there puleeeease'? Because I've tried that and he hasn't been in since....(kidding)

I...am not quite a waitress. More like I work in a deli at a grocery store--only it isn't a deli.

Make a lot of eye contact, smile, and initiate casual contact if you can...though I'm sure the "do me" line would work well too.

This is going to be tough then. You don't really have any opportunity to make small talk, nor do you have a chance to see if they are more than just a pretty face.
