I'm a handgun safety officer but I don't recognize the make and model. Care to educate me? I'd love to know more about it.

You can tell by the hills around the river that this is desert...yup--desert in Oregon. My skin is too fair and I get fried as it is...just what I need...a 125 mile ride home with a sunburned backside and other parts! (And that river is about 50 degrees...dang cold! ) LOL :D

They invented this thing called .....SUNBLOCK ;)

Rifle in picture

The rifle is an M1, standard military issue from 1936-1957. It was used in every theater of operations in WWII and Korea. George Patton referred to it as the "greatest battle implement ever devised" - allegedly.

College

I was once frightened by a foreign language professor. Psychologists don't scare me. I examine my life, especially the motives.

motives

...generally clearly shown by my methods, but limited by my opportunities. Such a shame at times....

I make the bulk of my opportunities - and Life makes the rest. I'm just a little more selective now, that's all.

I know. It's great. I get to talk about penis envy and castration anxiety with a bunch of undergraduate students. We have fun in the classroom!

That's great. We shouldn't scare anyone. And everyone should lead a life of self examination, it's too important not to.

I think that my motives have become to live life to the fullest and not waste a moment. I want to live life as it unfolds and have no regrets at the end that I confined myself in any way by fears or conventions.

I absolutely love what I do for a living. Sometimes I can't believe that I get paid!

Carpe diem, and so forth

I get better at living Life, having simply existed too much of it away. It is a journey....

Undergrads are so much fun!!! They don't even know what the questions are yet, but they got all the answers.

I think that is wonderful...I think everyone should love what they do otherwise why do it in the first place...but I bet that is really a cool class...:D

You're right. It is a journey and so much of our time can be spent looking to the future when life is passing us by. I think the secret is living in the here and now as mundane as that sounds. I try not to get bogged down in my past mistakes and regrets and not worry about the future to the point that it takes today away from me. I want to get pleasure from life so that when I am old and facing death I am not going to say I wish I would have done things differently.

Thank you 1sexylady. I try to make my students realize that psychology is interesting because it is about them and has relavance to their personal lives. It is about them and the people around them.

regrets!

There is one regret that I do have. Not being stopped by this officer while speeding down the road at 80 - I am very bad!
