for Svenska: He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named has been named

I expect JKR won't be too happy with it, to be honest, because I don't think she wrote Voldemort as a crush-worthy character, but Fiennes playing him will change all of that. I mean, people talk about how they feel they belong to Slytherin and all, and she's not too pleased with that either.

My fopur year old ( or at least she will be in about 2 1/2 hours) is not afraid of anything in any Potter movie, not spiders, snape Basilisk, whomping willow, Snape, nothing except for one thing...

She screams and runs behind the couch whenever Dobby is on screen.

Dobby? But not the huge spiders. Not even the dementors at the theatre. But the house elf scares the hell out of my hellion? I just don't get it.

My two year old *loves* Dobby. His favorite part in the whole movie is when you push play on the DVD and Dobby snaps his fingers. (Its a good thing we did'nt get it on VHS instead.:)

Ralph Fiennes Joins 'Potter' Cast

LOS ANGELES -- Ralph Fiennes, who played memorable evil guys in "Red Dragon" and "Schindler's List," has signed on to portray the wicked warlock Voldemort in the next "Harry Potter" movie, Warner Bros. announced Wednesday.

Other additions to the cast include Brendan Gleeson ("Troy," "The Village" and "Cold Mountain") as Potter's new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, the fearsome Mad-Eye Moody, and Miranda Richardson, ("The Crying Game," "Sleepy Hollow") as Rita Skeeter, a gossip columnist for a magical newspaper. The cast also includes Robert Pattinson as Hogwarts student Cedric Diggory, Stanislav Ianevski as Quidditch star Viktor Krum, French actress Clemence Poesy as the heart-fluttering visiting student Fleur Delacour, and Katie Leung as Potter's love-interest and Quidditch rival Cho Chang.

"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," directed by "Four Weddings and a Funeral" filmmaker Mike Newell, is scheduled for theatrical release in November 2005.

Piss off!!! *said in typical Brit fashion*

It's great to have a film series that's not got a single septic in it!!!!

Actually, I have to tell you to read the books. There are other schools!!!!

:D

I've only just got why you say "septic". Rhyming slang for Yank. LOL! :D

I agree with Twatman. My Brit friends here were pissed that the American editions of the books had changed many of the Britishisms so that Yanks could get them. Sheesh!

Also, re. Fiennes: the man is a very good actor, he'll be a great villain despite his lovely face (plus, it's a movie! makeup? Duh.)

Perdita

Hmmm... I see a trend here:

GOOD GUYS:
Remus Lupin.................David Thewlis
Sirius Black....................Gary Oldman

WAS BAD, IS GOOD NOW:
Severus Snape............Alan Rickman

BAD GUYS:
Lucius Malfoy...............Jason Isacs
Voldemort....................Ralph Fiennes

I'm telling you, the casting director is a Slytherin!

I mean, what can we expect next? Martin lawrence as Kingsley Shacklebolt and Antonio Banderas as Theodore Nott????

Ever Bigger News!

JK Rolins, the gorgeous author of Harry Potter is pregnant again. This will be her third child.

I'll bet her first husband is kicking himself to have let her get away!

Not that Filch is my favourite character in the books nor the movies, but as they say "chewing a bird's sitting-pin tastes A LITTLE like bird".:D

Rhino, that's a great story (and autograph and pic). I don't know them but I feel very happy for your girls. I hope the rest of their lives is as wonderfilled. P. :)
