Trump's refusal is absolutely inexcusable and it sure didn't take him long. It’s not official but it’s looking that way. But Trump says so much shit and changes directions all the time. He will be under pressure from the Defense Industrial base and from Senators and Congressional Representatives in many districts to approve this order. Defense contracts are spread out among practically all 435 Congressional Districts in the USA.

That said, Zelensky specifically wanted to buy air defense equipment, not offensive weapons ... and directly offered to pay for them. I'm sure Zelensky proposed this just to make it clear to everyone (who hadn't figured it out yet) on Earth, that Trump has Putin's c**k not just in his mouth but half way down his throat. Trump is fully exposed as directly supporting Russia.

Obviously I'm speechless. I was expecting this, but it's truly disgusting to see. Every day, we get more confirmation that Trump wants Ukraine to capitulate so he can do deals with his buddy Putin. He sees no problem with the genocide of Ukrainians.

This was never about minerals. It’s been about creating a situation where Zelenskyy is expected to say no, giving an excuse to cut off aid. A classic Russian tactic – create confusion, buy time, and make it harder for leaders to act in time. Trump is doing exactly what Russia wants. He constanty changes the terms of "the deal," demands "more than a minerals deal," but the point was never to make it work. It’s a smokescreen to allow him to permanently block support for Ukraine while the Kremlin attempts to gain ground.

The EU needs to stop pretending that Trump is anything other than a Russian asset.

Trump no longer has any leverage on Ukraine. Since he was elected, no weapons or financial support packages have been granted to Ukraine. Trump is not going to provide Ukraine with any security guarantees. Trump is not going to sell weapons to Ukraine. Trimp is not going to sell Patriot missiles to Ukraine for their existing systems and is happy for Ukrainian civilains to be slaughtered by Putin's genocidal thugs.

The only interest Trump has in Ukraine is the extortionist minerals deal, in return for which he will provide nothing. I guess at this point the best we can hope for is that Trump does not order the US Armed Fporces to actually attack Ukraine, and the he doesn't send US troops to fight alongside the Russian Army.

Ukrainian drones struck the Russian city of Shuya in Ivanovo Oblast on April 16, reportedly targeting military infrastructure linked to Russia's 112th Missile Brigade, according to independent Russian media outlet Astra. The 112th Brigade, along with the 448th Missile Brigade, was involved in a deadly missile strike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy on Palm Sunday on April 13, which killed at least 35 civilians, Ukraine's intelligence said. Shuya is situated on the Teza River, approximately 33 kilometers (20 miles) from the regional center, Ivanovo. It lies about 700 kilometers (435 miles) northeast of the Ukrainian border. Earlier, Ukraine's General Staff confirmed on April 15 that its forces had also targeted and struck the base of the 448th Missile Brigade in Kursk Oblast. The operation involved Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces, and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and was launched as retaliation for the Sumy attack.
