I clapped on & on when I grew up listening to Oldies music... Finally, when I turned 10, best friend helped me convince my parents to listen to current music... Hence both "kids" in my family born in early '80s, but I know little if anything about "hair bands".

Erm . . . 'oldies' music ?
Do you mean the real Rock n Roll, the real music which comes from the soul of a musician ? OR, possibly the later genre, the late 60s [mind-blowing] stuff ?

I quit the business when my only remaining option seemed to be playing lead guitar in 'hair bands'.

I'm not saying that this has much to do with anything beyond the mention of hair bands, but this is after all, free association.

I've always been fascinated by the process of putting that live music on tape.
Somewhere, I have miles of quarter-inch recording tape filled with the stuttering attempts by various pals at playing guitars. I remember one night when the Lead had really pissed-off the Drummer and the result was a Jazz-Waltz rhythm to some classic rock numbers. I don't recall the audience/dancers noticing a lot.

Pass me another Beer, please and have they got Rothmans in the fag machine ? I'd better get some; I'm running out and it looks like it's goin' to be long night. . . .

You don't see much 3/4 time in Rock n' Roll

Ha ha ha :D

'Under Milk Wood'

Would what?!

Sorry; Old joke I remember a guy telling... Well, I forgot her name... On "Three's Company" (met her & someone else from the show years ago at the local Mall; Can't find pic on PC right now)... RIP Ritter.)

Oh, & H_P. you have no clue where the music comes from outside of the person playing it, & that is only if you see it live! That's why great players like Gary Clark, Jr. are on TV playing new singles they admit are covers of Beatles songs that were already covered just as well by Hall-of-Famers Aerosmith!!!

I once managed to so see Crosby, Stills & Nash when they came over here.
And I knew where the music came from !

We got +10C on a still autumn morn.

That's when you rediscover how many appliances have clocks built into them.

And you curse the buffoon who 'invented' it.
Every now and again, there's some twerp who think that we should always be on 'Summer Time'. Personally, I think we (in the UK) should be on GMT permanently; if it is that important, rather than working, say, 9 to 5, try 8 to 4. It's the same thing,
ain't it ?

Does anybody really know what time it is?
Does anybody really care?

Always thought that sounded like a score.

Newspaper quote from somewhere: 'Last Night the Philharmonic played Beethoven. Beethoven lost.'

What one Music Appreciation student wrote to title one of Beethoven's pieces, played on a certain weekend:

"Heads Are Gonna Roll"

Neverland (discovered by J M Barrie, 1904)

"Finding Neverland" starring Johnny Depp & Freddie Highmore.... Later followed by both "reteaming" in a "reboot" called "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory".

(I for 1 always tell the difference between the Wonka movies by recalling each has the better character's name in its title.)

Neverland still seeks its independence from colonial rule.
