Yeah, I try to do that on a regular basis.

A friend of mine is dying. He was a 19 YO kid on Iwo Jima 57 and a half years ago. There were 22,000 Japanese soldiers set to resist a 190+ ship invasion force of Marines and Navy personnel. The Navy provided the corpsmen for the Marine Corps.

My friend wandered alone into one of the numerous caves one day. He was promptly jumped by five Japanese soldiers, all of whom he shot with his M1. While reloading the rifle, he was then surprised by an officer wielding a sword. He doesn't remember what happened next, but, when he came to, he had the sword in his hands. The officer's body was at his feet, and the head was several feet away.

These are the kinds of things asked of those who have to do them, so that the rest of us may sleep soundly and safely at night.

I was surprised to find out there were bobcats in Michigan. I moved here just over a year ago, and I'd never have guessed it.

I have spent a good part of my life up north and I have only seen 2. Both times they scared the hell out of me because they just appeared out of nowhere right in front of me.
