Approving the investigation isn’t the issue. If a sex crime was committed (as some on this thread seem to believe) and prosecutors let it slide due to negligence or incompetence, they should be held accountable.

Some of the commenters on this thread seem to think Gaetz is guilty of sex trafficking and got away with it. If they truly are convinced of that, then yes, they should hold the prosecutor accountable for not bringing charges.

A Florida radio host in Gaetz’s orbit who was convicted of bribery also cooperated. And of course Gaetz’s buddy Joel Greenberg, the original target of the investigation started by AG Barr, pleaded guilty to six federal crimes and cooperated with prosecutors.

You don't prosecute a case if don't have a reasonable chance of conviction. With Gaetz they felt they didn't. The witness had major credibility issues, which any reasonable defence attorney would be able to use to effectively counter the evidence of what they testified about Gaetz,vs the lies they had claimed on other matters.

Sorry you don't go to court if you can't collaborate their testimony with other unimpeachable witness, and they currently have none. Maybe they will at a later date, and then can move forward.

This doesn't mean he was not guilty ( or guilty) as Wrongway is trying to claim.. In fact neither his innocence or guilt have been proven.

It was obviously a close call on whether to prosecute. The fact that it’s Florida can’t be emphasized enough.

All they need is enough other evidence and there seems to be plenty available. What we do know is the charges against Gaetz were unsupported by any demonstrated circumstantial or direct "evidence."
