Just Saw The New Left For Dead 2 Trailer,,must Play Nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Hey Everybody, how goes everyones' gaming? I haven't done WoW because of real life (and other games). I picked up Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Guitar Hero 5, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 and Dissidia. I barely did anything for Brewfest and I probably won't get much done for Hallow's End.

Anything new with anybody else...I know the thread has been kind of dead recently.

Im waiting for the stupid hallowed Helm to drop and a tooth pick and ill have the title i have the brewfest title...i think hmm i dont remeber LOL

Hallowed Helm, I've got...Squashling...that friggin' pet has evaded me for years...same with the mount. :(.

lol just a stupid hat you need for an achievment....its not anything even good LOL

so in other words, it pales in comparison Oblivion's Fin Gleam or Helm of the Crusader (Fin Gleam is a light helmet with water breathing, eye of night, and detect life, and Helm of the Crusader is...well, the Helmet of the Crusader, which gives it several different attribute and skill boosts and a new spell or two)

Sadly no...the Hallowed Helm is a Cloth Head piece that makes your head look like a Jack O' Lantern. It has like 2 or 3 Armor (when most Cloth pieces at Level Cap give around 150-ish [and Plate pieces give around 1000 Armor]). But, it gives you an Achievement that you need for a "special" Flying Mount.

I got my helm today!! I am now the Hallowed!!!! WHOOO HOOO!!

Congratz, by the way. I still haven't gotten the Squashling. Nor the Headless Horseman's Mount...although I DID get the "new" broom (the one that auto adjusts to your Riding Skill...which is kinda nifty, actually)...although the sad part is that it doesn't stick itself in your Mount tab...it stays in your Inventory.

heh. Yeah, sounds lame alright. That reminds me, I need to learn how to get Shadowmere in Oblivion....

I hate you...not really, of course. But you have Baron Rivendare's Charger?!? Do you realize I've run UD Strat over 800 times to get that Mount. I've shouted, "Baron Rivendare, drop my pants!!!" Way too many times (yay Legacy WoW memories and Tier 0 runs) and I've never seen the damn thing drop. I can now run and kill him in 15min and I still haven't seen it drop. *sigh*. Blizzard hates me.

Blizzard hates everyone. Makes me wonder if they're conspiring with Ubisoft to ruin the video game industry *points at lackluster games like Assassin's Creed and The Prince Of Persia, when the greatest game series ever made by Ubisoft was the Sands trilogy*

Wow...that's extremely one-sided. You forget about the fact that Blizzard has also put out Diablo, Starcraft, Rock N Roll Racing and 3 Dirty Dwarves (I think that was the title's name). All of which were critically acclaimed titles prior to World of Warcraft. Ubisoft put out Rayman prior to Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia (Sand's Trilogy).

Game companies do well with their perspective niches. Blizzard does well with RTS and Action RPG's. All WoW is is a giant MMO Action RPG. Ubisoft did a great job with the Rayman games and a phenomenal job with the Raving Rabbids series.

If you want to really look for an Evil Empire in the Video gaming world, look towards, EA. They swallow game companies whole and demolish good game series. I'm still bitter at the loss of The Bard's Tale series and Wasteland. I am very happy that Westwood was able to survive being swallowed by the EA monster and keep Command and Conquer alive. Interplay, sadly, didn't make out so well.

the only Blizzard title I ever liked was 16bit. And yes, I've noticed a tendency from EA to only succeed at racing games. Could be worse. look at what happened to SEGA before they got rid of the guy who was in charge of the American branch.

Good post.
I agree with this. I have always been impressed with Blizzard. They are one of the good guys. All companies have their assholes and greedy people but blizzard is mostly right side of that balance. And it's like people can't seem to comprehend that they want to earn money. There's nothing wrong about wanting to make an income. It's a business like any other company.

Oh hell, even after. The only GOOD thing that Sega did was ditch their Console division. Once the went solely for Game design/theory, they started making money again. Oh, I was wrong, it was called, "Lost Vikings" Great game, had a LOT of fun playing it on the SNES. Blackthorne (look at it as a 2-D Version of Diablo). Great games in their time.

Could be worse, I mean look at Square Enix. Final Fantasy I was great, US II was incredible, III was lauded as an incredible success (although the story didn't grip me as much as the second did). Then came Final Fantasy VII for the PSX and it was hailed as the Jewel in the Square Crown. Sadly, it wasn't a finished game and was rushed out for the Holidays. I was disappointed in the game greatly *emo tear*. Since then, we've had VIII (which was graphically incredible, story wise it was incredible...but as you hit disc 3...boring). IX brought you "back" to the Chibi but was boring (in my opinion). X was also very well done, great story...but X-2 (Tidus' Angel's?). XI was an MMO and had no interest. XII, was one I never played but heard was pretty good and XIII isn't out yet. Square has lost its way, it seems. I really dug Final Fantasy IV (US, II) because the story drew you into it. It had enough betrayal, tragedy (you meet 2 kids who join your party and they sacrifice themselves to save you...it MADE me want to beat the bad guy when I first played the game). None of the other Final Fantasy games (including VII with Aerith's death) have caused me to hate the Villain quite as much.

But I digress. Every company needs to evolve. It can't stay stagnant. But it also needs to remember what makes it great. All gaming companies rise and fall. When I was a kid, it was Interplay and their tri-fold RPG's (Bard's Tale, Wasteland, etc) or SSI (Gold Box D&D RPG'S) or Origin Systems (Ultima, Knights of Legend, Auto Duel, Ogre, etc)...those ruled back in the day of the Apple IIe, Commodore 64/128 and Amiga. As the "PC" came about, Electronic Arts rose into power and Westwood Studios came out (Battle Tech RPG's, Command and Conquer, Dune RTS', Eye of the Beholder) and Interplay rose and fell throughout, SSI is gone, Origin Systems is long gone. How long before Blizzard is gone? Or Ubisoft? Or even EA is gone? All it takes is a flop of a game. Heck, Blizzard almost released Starcraft: Ghost...that's Vaporware now. I mean come on. Think if that had been released on it's original release date...for the N-64...when the PS2 was about to release. How long would Blizzard have stayed in power then?

PS: I just realized I should probably add a, "and you youngin's should stay off of my lawn" to that. I feel so old. I remember playing Pong in the "Arcade"...or course...I remember what an Arcade was. God I feel ancient.

don't feel too bad. At least you don't know that SEGA killed their one shot at making a shitload of money off the SEGA CD system by scrapping their plans for a game to make a less impressive Genesis version of it
