In our society as it is today, if a man sucks another man’s cock, is he automatically considered to be gay or bisexual in every case?

Example: If a husband and wife as a fantasy wanted to experience a MMF sexual encounter, and as part of their fantasy, she wanted to see her husband suck another man’s cock to completion. And to fulfill his wife’s fantasy, the husband sucked another man’s cock to completion without any emotional or sexual attachment to the man: in our society, would the husband be thought of as gay, bisexual or straight.

In other words, are there certain circumstances in our society where a man could engage in homosexual sex, and still be considered straight?

Today's society is extremely intolerant of anything that isn't screaming HETEROSEXUAL!!!!! And preferably REPUBLICAN HETEROSEXUAL!!!!!! So, in answer to your poll, he'd be a flaming queer.

In reality, what goes on behind closed doors between consenting adults is their business, who gives a shit what anyone else thinks?

Take "gay" out of the question and substitute it for preferred sex position, religion, or any other topic and you'll get the same exact answer, UNLESS society as a whole accepts the activity to which you're referring, then it doesn't matter what that activity is, it will be judged as "bad" and it should be outlawed and those who practice it should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Nope. Just have a look around this site for examples of the numerous men who say they're straight, but want to engage in sexual acts with other men. Similarly, there are plenty of "straight" women who want to be sexual with other women.

And then there are the questioning, bi-curious, and heteroflexible folks.

Example: If a husband and wife as a fantasy wanted to experience a MMF sexual encounter, and as part of their fantasy, she wanted to see her husband suck another man’s cock to completion. I'd say a 100% straight guy wouldn't consider fulfilling that fantasy because he'd likely find that kind of contact distasteful/a hard limit. Someone who is elsewhere on the spectrum, or more flexible, could consider or do it. But in the end, my opinion doesn't matter; the guy in question can label himself whatever he wants, even if (nearly) everyone else calls him something different.

Being raped by another male comes to mind. Like there are plenty of straight guys in prison who are forced to have sex with other guys just to survive. I think most people in our society would consider them straight, even though they've technically engaged in homosexual acts or relationships.

Well, as Erika alluded to, if Lit's cock fetish--er, GLBT--forum is any indication. . .

I hope the recently-proposed Fetish forum becomes a reality.

You mean the ones who meet other men at rest areas and public parks? Those Republican Heterosexuals? *Snerk*

I agree with Erica. I think you should also have an option for "It depends" in your poll. I personally think that sexuality is kind of a sliding scale with very few people 100% hetero or homosexual. Does hugging count as a sexual act? Or the "friendly" kiss on the cheek? Or even just a "friendly" peck on the lips? I guess it all depends on where you draw the line., which is different for every individual.

I completely agree with the statement in bold. As a society we think that sexuality can be lumped into these definite and very confining terms (straight, gay, bi, etc), and I think this mostly comes from our need for things to be black and white. Our society likes nice, little labels to plaster on ourselves so we can easily distinguish people. However as individuals I truly believe, like Cromsgirl stated, that sexuality is more of a scale. How can anyone be 100% anything all the time? It would be so exhausting!

To throw my two cents in. If he is open to to sucking a man's cock once then he'd be more willing to do it again. So I would label him as bisexual even if he never does it again.

there is talk of a Fetish board? I'll be the first to post, I have a fetish for pregnant women.

What Nasty deeds describes is a fantasy of mine that I would love to enact. I have sucked cock before I was married and although I am only engaging in heterosexual activity in my life right now, I consider myself pretty much bisexual. I would absolutely suck another man's cock and I would love it. Honestly I think most people are capable of being bisexual. For example, if a man is sucking my cock or a woman is sucking my cock - it still feels damn good. The difference for me, I guess, is that while homosexual acts turn me on I am not actually attracted to men. If I see a good looking woman walking down the street, I notice. I don't really notice men at all from an attraction point of view.

Whether a man is considered straight, bisexual or gay, does it come down to an emotional or sexual attraction, or simply a physical act?

Example:
Of course, there are as many motivations for alternate sexual desires as there are people having alternate sexual desires. This being said, consider a man in a cuckold relationship with his wife, whose most intense arousal comes only from watching her being sexually pleasured by another man, while being denied sexual gratification himself. The intense desire to have what you are being denied.

In the course of an evening, a cuckold husband might suck the cock of his wife’s lover to stimulate his wife’s arousal, or to stimulate the Bull to continue pleasuring his wife after the Bulls cock had become flaccid due to orgasm. In this case, the cuckold husband has no emotional attachment, nor sexual attraction to the man; rather, the Bull would be only an object used by the cuckold husband to stimulate his wife’s sexual arousal. In other words, to the cuckold husband, the Bull might be considered simply a living dildo.

In this context, does a simple physical act of oral sex with a man, (with no emotional or sexual attachment to the Bull), make the cuckold husband gay or bisexual, or would he still be considered straight since his only sexual arousal came from watching his wife?

Yup. Go here and here for more info. :)

Thanks for the heads-up. I stopped visiting the GLBT forums long ago due to the overwhelming number of fetish and cock threads, so I was glad to read the discussion and vote for a Fetish forum in the poll.

I would tend to think if a man can bring himself to sucking another mans cock... He's bisexual. There is nothing wrong with bisexuality but I feel that's how I would think of it. The male would HAVE to have some sort of attraction to the man or the idea of sucking the other mans cock to be able to actually go through with it.

It's the same way that I feel if a woman wants to experience another woman.. despite never having the attraction to be in a relationship with a woman, she's still considered bisexual for her sexual attraction to the woman.

Who cares about titles anyway. In the end... you're human.

If he never did it again, I would say that proves he's straight.

This brings up another question: If a heterosexual man received a blow job from another man, but never sucked another man’s cock himself, would he be considered straight, or would receiving a blow job make the man gay or bisexual?

I just don't understand why people need to define themselves with labels. Is it a need to convince others that they are this and not THAT? Being THAT is so BAD

We live by labels: we say she is blond or she is brunette, or he is tall or he is short. If there were no labels, and everyone had exactly the same hair color; was the same size, and did exactly the same things, life would be exceedingly boring. It is our diversity that makes life exciting and worth living. Understanding labels, (or diversity), like gay, bisexual or straight makes life even better. A world in which there were no labels would just be confusing. Having a label gives each of us a place in life.

With this said, seemingly, not every person has a place in life, and the feeling of being an outcast in society can create emotional confusion for an individual. Reading threads in the various forums of this web site, you will find not a small number of men, who would suck another man’s cock under specific circumstances, but feel straight, and live their daily life as a heterosexual male. Without a place in society, a man can feel confused.

The label “Heteroflexible”, (a term I haven’t heard before), seems to fit in many circumstances. I wish I had included it in the poll.

in our society: yes. this is b/c society is incapable of the nuance of thought necessary to describe sexual realities. society is stupid enough to need labels and pigeonhole things.

the truth of course is different. the truth is that sexual identity is defined by the people with whom one forms relationships or with whom at least one is capable of experiencing romantic love. sex acts do not define sexual identity, because that would imply that: 1) people who are not sexually active have no sexual identity, and 2) virgins have no sexual identity. and of course, we all know that's nonsense.

for these reasons: the poll options offered are inadequate.

in our society, yes. it's called prison. in reality though: circumstances/context matters.

The notion of certain acts defining or categorising a person's orientation simply does not compute for me. To me orientation is purely about attraction. Opportunity is irrelevant.

Attraction to only people of the same gender = homosexuality.

Attraction to persons of both genders = bisexuality.

Attraction to only people of the opposite gender = heterosexuality.

When you throw transgendered/genderqueer people into the equation there can be cause to split hairs.

Everything else is just friction.

agree totally

ok, not speaking from experience here, as I have only touched one cock in my life and its mine ;) but I think that a straight guy does not give up his straightness by experimenting a little. Maybe bi-curious? regardless, not everyone fits into one specific label or category, and sucking one cock does not mean a guy isn't straight "anymore", especially if its in the interest of satisfying a woman ;)
I'll take it a step further: If a guy has thought/fantasized about sucking cock or jerking another guy off, where does that put him? can someone be categorized (or mis-categorized) based on their thoughts or fantasies?

This is a very good point. Is a man labeled or categorized by what he believes he is, or what other people believes he is?
