From a homesice boy uup in Virgina to the good people of Georgia. GOOD MORNING. Driving into DC this morning was thinking of some songs that talk of Georgia, like Marshall Tucker and they have the line about "taking the train...all the way to Georgia" and then there is Ray Charles/Willie Nelson and "Georgia on My Mind". Got to work and hit the internet radio station I listen to and what comes up first...ol' Willie singing about "Georgia on My Mind". Guess its time to get back home for a while. Anyway...have a great day!!!!!!

mcm......nobody can do "Georgia on my mind" like Ray Charles in my mind.

I spent 3.5 years up there at Ft. Meade. Nothing much of note to mention.

Yeah...I also like the Ray Charles version, but Willie will have to do when that is what they play on the stations here, most of the time. It must have been an omen though, thinking about it on the way to work and hearing that song right first thing.

Yeah, your right about the area...wish people around here would learn to slow down and take it easy...I'm ready to get back home and out of this rat race...for all the sights and things to do, it seems like its "not much to write home about"...if you know what I mean...

Good morning Georgia...rise and shine!!! Its Friday...that's at least one plus for today. Here...its also payday.

Georgia Girl: I haven't been to Albany for about a year, but folks talk about the building for sure they are doing that, but still trying to recuperate from the flood from about 6-7 years ago. I had also live in Cartersville for three years and went to school at South Ga College at Douglas and Valdosta State College, so have been around the state and from what I here and have seen, everything is growing. Which is good for the economy, but losing that "ol down-home feeling" and getting too big city" in some ways. Everybody...have a good ---scratch that -- have a GREAT day and wonderful weekend!!!

mcm.....the thing that appeals to me the most is that you still have some largely rural areas, so you can live in pure country and drive 15 minutes and be in a sizeable town. Thats not too bad.

I'd love to attend something, but I've had something planned for this weekend for a long time.

I'd love to do something else later on.

As for this weekend, how difficult is it for everyone to meet, say, in Atlanta? There's tons of places to get together in large groups. Barnes and Nobles are perfect for such a 'literary expidition'.

Maybe that can get the gears turning, eh?

Tips from the south

mcm.....you should be naked cutting the grass. It makes getting the grass clippings off so much easier and it evens out your tan.

Georgia Girl.... Good morning...finsihed the grass cutting and have to admit..."naked grass cutting" could make things interesting. My neighbors are not quite as "open-minded" as you and may not appreciate that. It sure would have made things "cooler" yesterday if I could have done it that way.
