"I'm sure it will be often with your secrets and your network of spies." She said as he nuzzled against her cheek.

"It's all for your sake, Kate," Kell reminded her softly. "I promise you the only secrets I keep from you are the ones that keep you safe."

"I wish that there were no secrets, but I will let you have a few." She said as he promised that they were for her own good.

 

[KieranSoares]

"Only because they can't be spoken or written, just to be safe." Kell kissed her cheek. "But I can also promise you Qira knows everything I do and we won't keep unnecessary secrets either. So he'll keep me in check."

 

[heartofcourage]

"It's a shame that he's working so hard today when it's a celebration." Kate said, knowing that Qira was probably watching over everything from the shadows. "Make sure that he gets a chance to take a break this evening. Chessie would feed him in the kitchens and no one would have to know that he's here."

 

[KieranSoares]

"Don't worry about him. I didn't leave him out completely," Kell assured her. "But he wouldn't take a day off even if I ordered it. He's decided that I have no power over him when it comes to you anymore."

"Hmmmm...I'm sure you didn't approve of that." Kate said as the song ended and she never got her answer as her ads was there to butt in, taking her away from her wolf as it was his time to dance with her.

 

[KieranSoares]

Kell could only chuckle, stepping away to go dance with Julia. However, it was little Ashelin who got to him first, reaching out for him as he approached. Scooping her up, he smiled adoringly. "Are you going to be my next dance, Princess?"

"Go ahead, Kell. She has been itching for someone to pay attention to her." Julia said with a chuckle as Ashelin was scooped up into Kell's arms for a dance.

 

[KieranSoares]

Kell nuzzled Ashelin's cheek and he carried her away to the dance floor, letting her lead him as she liked, and letting her stand on his foot paws when she wasn't sure how to step.

"That's how you taught me how to dance. Remember?" Kate asked her father with a grin as she watched her baby sister dancing with Kell. "I could barely walk when you brought me out onto the floor for the first time. I think with the king of England, if I remember right."

 

[KieranSoares]

"I remember. It was an anniversary o' Henry's ascension." Brogan smiled as he watched Ashelin. He looked to Kell then. "He's always been good t'the girls. Between him, Ciaran, an' Justin, those little girls 'ave all th'attention they could want."

"He gives me all of the attention that I ever wanted." Kate said with a smile towards her father. "He'll make me happy and keep me safe, Da. I hope that you know that he adores me."

 

[KieranSoares]

"I know, lass. A man tha' waited this long fer you an' builds an entire network t'protect you is more'n worthy." Brogan kissed her forehead. "I'd trust 'im with anyone in this family."

"You are trusting him with everyone in his family." Kate admitted softly. "You might never see them, but they're here. He wants to make sure that no one can use you against me. He knows how important everyone is to me."

 

[KieranSoares]

"I suppose I already knew tha', but I don' think about it much. We never see them. Though Kell did introduce me an' yer mother t'your guardian. He wanted us t'know who we were trusting."

 

[heartofcourage]

"I feel bad for Qira today but Kell assures me that he will have his chance to enjoy today as well." Kate said as her Da admitted that they had already met Qira.

 

[KieranSoares]

"We'll be sure t'leave 'im anything 'e could want. But 'e seemed like th'sort who didn' much like sittin' around an' relaxing. Seemed like 'is job was all 'e needed."

"That may be but I don't want anyone to work themselves to the bone just for me." Kate said with a bit of passion in her voice.

 

[KieranSoares]

"Good luck stoppin' 'em, love," Brogan chuckled. "Ye've got an 'usband an' a guardian who'll do no less."

 

[heartofcourage]

"I have the Ghis stubborn spirit. They'll have a fight in their hands." Kate said with a smile as she leaned her head on her father's shoulder. "And I'm sure you'll help me come up with ways to get away from time to time."

 

[KieranSoares]

"Always, love. I'll even come kidnap you myself fer 'advising' an' 'matters o' state' an' all tha' nonsense. We'll turn Kell grey in jus' a couple years."

"Be nice to my wolf, Da. I'm the only one that's allowed to be mean to him." Kate said with a small little smile on her lips.

 

[KieranSoares]

"He didn' jus' marry you, lass. He married this family. It's our job t'make his life harder now," Brogan chuckled. "It's how we show our love."

Kate grinned as her father swore that Kell belonged to the entire family now. When their dance finished, she was passed off to the next male in the family until she had danced with all of her brothers and uncles and grandfather, only sitting to catch her breath. She was happy, but she was growing tired. However, she found the energy to laugh when Julia ushered the youngest Ghis towards her with the little kipper eggs.

"They worked hard on these." Julia said with a smile as Mako was the very first to hand her one of the eggs.

"Thank you, little ones. They are beautiful." Kate said as she collected each of the eggs on the table in front of her, a small little collection soon amassed.
