Ghis (closed)

"I know... I jus' don' know how long she 'as left... We still don' know what exactly wha's wrong with 'er, e'en Val can' do much about it." He sighed, "Bloody 'ell, I've missed so much o' th' rest o' my family b'cause o' Da."

“And he’s gone now, love.” She said softly, know how much her husband hurt when he thought about the time that he’d lost. “We can work on making new connections with everyone. You can build us that nice house you are always talking about. Maybe we can raise some sheep and some crops. It’ll be a nice little life here in Inverness.”

She leaned forward to kiss her husband, stopped by Seamus as he started to whimper and wrinkle his face. She sighed softly and scooped him up, uncovering a breast and allowing him to latch on. He started nursing with a grunt, the strong pull of his lips startling her slightly as she looked down at her dark haired little boy. He was early, but he was healthy and that’s all that mattered to her.

“Don’t you get any ideas, love.” She said softly, turning her gaze back towards Durban. “This is all for him for the time being.”

A chuckle came rumbling from Durban's chest, "Well, damn." He rose with a smirk. "I guess I can let 'im keep ya t'himself fer now. Who'd e'er thought I'd be jealous o' me own son, ey?" He went and settled by his older son and daughter, pulling their blankets up around them for warmth.

Julia sat watch over Brogan all through the evening. She was tired but afraid of sleeping because she feared that Brogan would slip away while she wasn’t watching. He was getting better by the hour, but she wouldn’t fully relax until he was awake fully.

Sitting beside his bed, she dozed quietly, her head resting on her hand as she waited for her husband to finally rouse from his slumber.

Come noon, Brogan's eyes finally opened, slowly but surely, and he took in a deep breath that was wonderful to see after it'd been so difficult for him to breathe before. Slowly, he sat up despite a severe headache and stomachache, and he ran a hand back through his thick, dark hair. His eyes were clear, though still dim with sleep, and the color returning to his skin told Julia that Durban and Valentina had truly saved him. He was still incredibly weak and his body would need time to heal, but most of the damage could be repaired with time and care.

Julia stirred as she heard Brogan moving and when her emerald green eyes opened, she saw the most welcome of sights. Brogan was sitting up in bed, looking around the room and looking as healthy as he ever had before.

“Oh, Brogan…” She whispered softly before she was moving from her seat, wrapping him in a fierce hug and pressing her lips against his. “I thought we had lost you, love.”

Before he could register what was happening, Brogan was being kissed, and he didn't mind a bit. Wrapping his huge arms around her smaller frame, Brogan gladly kissed her in return and relaxed into her embrace. "So did I..." With a soft sigh, he laid his head against her shoulder. For the first time, it felt to both like Julia was the stronger one.

Julia held Brogan close, kissing his brow as she rocked her husband to comfort him. She was happy that he was alive and concerned that he was still so weak, but she would do everything in her power to make sure that he got back to normal as soon as possible. She was quiet for another moment before she pulled back to look down into his dark eyes.

“You have a new nephew. He’s certainly a handsome lad.” She said with a smile on her face, unable to tell him just yet about Boar and Emma. “Seamus has the Ghis dark hair and eyes.”

"So then Marri an' Durban are here... I thought they were jus' a dream." He kissed her again, "Seamus... tha' was our Uncle's name... Da's brother." Smiling finally, he ran a hand back through her hair now. "'Ave I e'er told ya 'ow beautiful y'are?"

“I think it suit’s the little man.” Julia said as Brogan mentioned Marri and Durban being there. “Yes, they are here and talking about staying in Inverness for good. They also brought Gabriel and Elise and your mother is absolutely over the moon.”

“Not lately.” She said, smiling for him as he stroked his hand through her hair. “But I certainly won’t stop you if you want to tell me how beautiful I am.”

She slowly let him free from her embrace and she gently lay him back on the pillows, tucking the blankets back around his chest until he was comfortable. “Do you think you could eat something? I can have the kitchens make you some broth.”

"I think I'll pass fer now... m'stomach's not much up to it." Brogan brought her down next to him and laid his head on her shoulder. Finally, he thought to bring up the more serious side of this situation. "So... I bet wi'Durban 'ere, y'probably figured out who's responsible... an' I'm guessin' I was righ'..."

Julia sighed loudly as Brogan brought up the topic that she didn’t want to talk about right then. She supposed that she didn’t have much choice in the matter though. She turned her gaze towards Brogan and she gently placed her hand on his chest.

“Boar admitted to it. I have placed he and Emma under house arrest until their child is born. Boar will work every day clearing timber and doing manual labor until you see it fit to change his sentence.” She said softly, hoping that he agreed with her judgment. “And I have given control of Inverlochly to Durban for the moment.”

"Good. I'll talk with Durban about what to do with Inverlochly later... As fer Emma an' Boar... I'll 'ave t' think about tha'...." he met her eyes. "I'm guessin' y'aren't too keen on the subject."

“You won’t be thinking about anything for a while but getting better, Brogan. You nearly died. I think that’s more important.” She said softly, stroking her hand through his hair gently as she looked down into his eyes. “Just get better for me, love.”

Leaning down, Julia kissed him gently and nestled him against her side more securely. She enjoyed having him close but the relief was extremely welcome.

Brogan gladly curled closer, settling against her side with ease. "I didn't nearly die... I'm fine," he chuckled. "Jus' a bad 'eadache." He kissed her neck lovingly, just a simple show of affection.

It was an entire two weeks before Brogan was back to health and in control again. With the king back in power, Inverness decimated the invading Wick army and sent the survivors scurrying. After that, Brogan invited the rest of his family to Inverness and Julia was surprised one morning to wake alone. She heard Brogan in the hall, talking with what sounded like two women and one other man.

The three were all very clearly of the Ghis family, two only a few years younger than Brogan. One woman and the man were quite clearly twins, and the other woman looked much more like Brogan. Julia knew them from Brogan's description of them. The twins, who closely resembled Kitty but with more angled features, were named Ashien and Kayla. The other sister was the sibling between Durban and Brogan, and her name was Selena. She was a huntress and a self-sufficient woman overall, while the twins were both members of royal courts.

It had been a long two weeks, but she was finally happy that Brogan was getting back to his normal self. It had been a long time of waking early and taking care of his needs, but that morning, when she opened her eyes, she was surprised to see his side of the bed empty. She gently reached her palm across the sheets, feeling that it was cool. He had been gone for a while. Why didn’t he wake her?

She slipped out of bed and splashed her face with some fresh water before she styled her hair and placed her circlet on her brow. She then turned towards her wardrobe to find something to wear. She decided to surprise Brogan with the new dress she had sewn during his illness. The fabric had been from the cloth that Ciaran had purchase for her so long ago, and she truly hoped that Brogan liked what she had created.

She stepped into the hall a moment later, surprised that Brogan was standing there with three people that looked so much like him. She stepped up next to her husband and gently took his hand, squeezing it lightly. She never imagined so many Ghis in such a small location.

“Good morning.” She said softly, knowing who they were from Brogan’s description.

Each of the three smiled to her and it was Selena who spoke, "Well if it isn't the beauty my little brother's been raving about." She came forward to hug Julia affectionately, "It's lovely to finally meet you, Julia. I'm Selena, and these two are Ashien and Kayla."

"I'm a bit jealous, Brogan," Ashien commented, and Brogan wrapped an arm around his shoulders. Ashien's accent sounded just like Julia's

"Y'been in London too long, y'missed out, lad," Brogan chuckled, smiling proudly down at Julia.

"Good to know you finally have someone other than Val and Ma to keep you in line and keep you from getting yourself killed," Kayla embraced Julia next.

Julia blushed under such attention from Brogan’s family, a smile on her face as Brogan smiled proudly down at her. That smiled filled her with a warmth that she couldn’t describe. She wondered how she’d falling so completely in love with the big bear of a man standing beside her.

“I’m so glad you all are here. Kitty is going to be so happy to have her family here for her birthday.” She said with a smile.

She adored her mother-in-law. She had worked so hard on the woolen muffler for the dear woman and she hoped that she enjoyed it. She had only just showed Brogan the night before what she had been working on and as always, he assured her that his mother would love it.

“Brogan, before we go to the hall for breakfast, would you come back to our room for a moment? There’s something I need you to take a look at.”

"O' course love," Brogan kissed her cheek. "G'ahead without us," he said to his siblings. "We'll be along."

Selena led the other two away and Brogan returned to his bedchamber with Julia. Drawing her into the circle of his arms, he kissed her and then smiled lovingly down at her, "What d'ya need, darlin'?"

Julia hugged her husband tightly and smiled, sighing softly as he leaned down and kissed her. She returned his smile and blushed slightly as he asked what she needed.

“Just some alone time with you.” She reached up and pulled him down into another passionate kiss. “I missed you, love.”

"I missed ya too, Julia." Brogan gladly indulged her in that wonderful kiss and swept her up in his arms with all his strength having returned. Once again, she was light as a feather to him. When their lips parted, he laid his head against hers and he muttered, "My beautiful queen..."

Julia blushed deeply as he pressed his head against hers, telling her that she was his beautiful queen. She was pleased that his strength had returned and that he seemed to have pulled through the poisoning unscathed. She reached up and touched his cheek, her thumb caressing his face as she stared into his eyes.

“Lift my skirts, Brogan. It’s been far too long since I’ve last enjoyed my husband.” She whispered softly, giggling under her breath as her green eyes darkened.

With an amused chuckle, Brogan gladly obliged her starting with another kiss. "As y'say, m'lady." Getting rid of his kilt and her one undergarment in his way, the great Scotsman laid his beloved wife back on the edge of their bed and he remained standing. Wasting little time in his pursuit to please her, he unbuttoned the front of his trousers and lifted the folds of her dress to place the head of his already-steel hard shaft at the entrance of her blossom. He leaned down to capture her lips in a deep, warming kiss and pressed his cock as deeply inside her as he could. It'd been long enough since their last bout of lovemaking that shed grown unused to him and felt incredibly tight around him. He groaned openly at the tightness into their kiss, wrapping her up in his arms.

Julia was over the moon as Brogan undressed them both enough so that the deed could occur. She offered her lips willingly, clinging to him as she felt the blunt tip of his cock pressing into her wet entrance. She whimpered at the feel of him. He felt larger than normal, thick and unyielding. Her fingers tangled in his hair, her lips parting under his as she gasped once his cock found its way home.

The groan he released made her lips tingle. She nuzzled her nose against his as they both got use to one another all over again. “You seem to have grown, my love.” She teased him, nipping at his lips.

"If I did, it's yer doing," he chuckled and began his slow, deliberate thrusts that always brought them both so much pleasure. "It's been too long, love," he muttered in her ear. "Far too long since I e'en 'eld ya..." Brogan kissed her once more, hoping to convey how much even simple contact with her meant to him.
