Belmar smiled at her youthful turn of phrase, but then she was at least a hundred times younger than him. He found it hard to tell with humans, but she was probably around the end of her second decade, not even half a century old. Such fragile creatures with pitifully short lives must learn to take what fate threw at them in their stride. So maybe it was indeed "cool" to her. It was certainly better than being eaten alive, which she must have thought to be her fate not that long ago.
He looked out a few scraps for her to eat, then settled down to sleep on the skins and furs beside her. Tonight he'd stay in human form, to keep her company and comfort her.
