Gladiators (not open for all, sorry)

Kita

Kita could see the tiredness in his eyes, and understood his reasoning, but she also knew it would not be so easy for this thing to be over.

"I think the prince will have a much heavier price on us to recover that blade then for the death of his father. In a way, we did the little bastard a favor killing the the swine. What i fear now is that we have an even more dangerious swine after our hides, cause without that sword, he can't become king. I think i had better stay with you for a while, your strength, and my skills combined could well be the combination that keeps us both alive. Might i also sugest that you don't wear that damn thing so openly, at least sheath it in a less attention atracting scabard."

She motioned to the bar keep for a drink, she needed it badly.

Troop of twelve guards:

Just as Kita ordered her drink, twelved guards spilled into the tavern. The bar tender looked up nervously as one of the guards approached him. The guard spoke to the bar keep for a moment then stepped up onto the oaken bar table. "Hear ye, hear ye!" The guard boomed. "Three escapees from the gladiator pits lurk these streets!" He then unrolled a scroll containing an etching of their likenesses, not terribly accurate, but close enough that Kita, Garret and Brakus would be known with moderete examination as the escapees. "They are guilty of slaying our king and spiriting away with the royal sword! Five hundred gold will be rewarded for their capture. The recovery of the royal sword is paramount, and as such, they are not to be killed."

The eleven other guards milled about the tavern, eyes sharp, hands on the pommels of their swords.

Garret wrapped the cloak around him tightly as he stood and ordered a drink. He wasn't normally a drinking man, but he knew that strange behavior always attracted attention.
"Let me handle this," he saw the surprise in the woman's eyes. Did he know her name? He wasn't sure. He would have to ask later.
"Five hundred, you say," he looked up consciously towards the door and back at the head guard.
"If I tell you where these three travelled off to, you'll give me five hundred gold right here and now?"
The guard stepped closer. Garret could tell he was intrigued. That's all it took for him.
"Yeah, yeah," Garret let a sense of fright enter his voice, spending those three months travelling with those actors helped out a lot.
"I heard they were heading for the small town of Lot two days ride from here."
He kicked the woman in the side slightly, hoping she would agree with him. There was strength in numbers.

Kita

Kita wanted to kick him back, his light kick was going to leave her wath a nasty bruse.

"Yeah, that's what i heard too, but i ain't giving you no more info without some coin." She was hoping the would say "To hell with you" and leave, but if they were going to pay for info, they could sure use some traveling money.

Crossing her arms over her chest, she leaned back against the bar and stared the trouper right in the eyes. Blake stepped a little closer to her, bending to speak softly in her ear.

"My sweet, don't you think you should tell the nice men what they want to hear?" Kita saw the opertunity and went with it. Turning to Blake, she gave him a little wink, then shoved him backwards.

"Oh right. You always gotta do that don't you? Make me look like an idiot in front of everyone. Always got to be the big guy." She began screamaing at him and throwing her arms in the air, creating quite a scean that made the troupers a more than a little uncomfortable. It didn't take long before they left and headed for the next tavern,

Kita chuckled a little. "That always works."

Garret sighed deeply.
"Yeah, either it works or we could have been jailed for simply creating a scene like that."
The bar once again turned back to it's regular hub bub. Garret felt like he didn't want to be in here anymore, however. It just felt uncomfortable.
"Well," he commented after she had gotten things straightened out, "Since you are so desired to stick together what would you like for us to do?"

Kita

Kita turned to Blake and concidered him for a moment.

"Thank you for helping me Blake, you had no need to, and yet you did, and that is something i will never forget. Someday i will repay you for your kindness, but for now, it would be safer for you if you were not to be found with me."

He gave her an understanding look, but said nothing, nor did he move. Kita assumed he was mearly concidering what she had just told him. She then turned back to Garrett.

"There is a village in the hills about two days ride from here, if we can make it there, i know of a wizard who can free the power of the sword so that it can never be used for evil again, then, providing Prince Hog hasn't cought us, we find a ship and head for a land where we can hide out untill things cool off. Unless you have any better ideas?"

The look on her face told him she was serious. Right now, keeping that sword out of the royal hands was more important than both their lives.

Garret raised his hand slightly, as she said she would rid the sword of it's evil. He wasn't sure if he was protectring it or not, but he had made a deal with the thing. It would keep him safe if he did not let it get into the prince's hands. Garret liked the fact that he was safe.
"I thank you for your offer, but the sword stays with me, as it is. If you are so inquiried as to leave for the next charter, than I will follow."

kita

Looking at Garreth, kita could see the way he moved to protect the sword. Perhaps it was not a bad thing .... for now.... and the blade did hold a power all of it's own.

"As you wish, but we sould still pass by that village first, then look for a ship. do you have a horse yet?"

Yet? She asked him as if he hadn't owned a horse yet. He wondered if there was something odd about her, certainly she had seen him ride off on the horse before they departed.
"Yes," he said after a moment's hesitation. He quickly nodded to the tender, paying for her drink, and walked outside. The horse was where he had placed it, Garret mounted and looked down at the woman and her companion.
"Lead the way, my lady fair..."

Kita

Kita was a little surprise to see he still had the same horse he had ridden from teh arena with. she has asumed it was stolen, like the mount she had been using, but perhapps she has been wrong.

making her way across the street and down the next block, she entered a stable with garreth following behind her on his horse. Blake followed at a distance, but watched her every move.

Entering the stable, Kita retrived her horse, wondering if she should take her brothers horse as well, but desciding to leave it where it was for the moment. She had no money to offer the stable boy for the keep of the two mounts, so instead she left him her bracelet, worth far more than then the horses keep, and whould see to valins horse untill he returned. As she rode from the stable, she looked closer at the expression on Garreth's face. Perhaps she was mistaken, but she was almost sure she had seen a glimmer of contemp in his eyes. She hoped she was wrong, for the ower of the sword could corrupt the heart of even the purest man, and she wondered if he had any idea what he was truely dealing with.

Before riding out, she lifted teh fragmenet of stone once again and called to her brother. Still the stone was cold and silent, and her heart sank a little more.

Garret gave a side glance to her. She was holding that stone again, that one that had nearly killed them all back in the arena. He suddenly felt very hateful at her.
He didn't exactly know why, but he just hated her. It was her fault that he had nearly died back there, her and her stupid stone. He should be rich by now, rich and having farmland and things, but no. He has to ride off with her to make sure everything is ok.
"Stop it," he thought to himself. It was no one's fault. It couldn't have been, come on now. He wiped his hand over his face, it was sweaty. Something was wrong with him, he had been acting strange since the bar.
(Raven, you still with us?)
Feeling tired all of the sudden, Garret pulled back, following Kita.
