I've skipped reading most of this thread and therefore will suspend judgment on the troll aspect of this, but I will add one thing: I actually knew Fred Phelps when I lived in Kansas years ago. He was a self-absorbed, self-promoting, do-anything-for-attention douchebag then...and he still is now.

Personally, I'm a heathen, I don't go for organized religion. But, from what I have read, one of the basics of Christianity is the thing about "Judge not, lest ye be judged."
I get the feeling that the folks at Westboro are either forgetting that, or they have developed a god complex, and feel like they are entitled to judge others.

Haven't you heard the saying, "He Doth Protest Too Much"? He is here because he is terrified of his own sexual urges. If he wasn’t afraid of his own sexual urges, he wouldn't care what someone else does, and certainly wouldn’t waste his time here.
