Gods And Ghosts:A War of Heavenly Proportions(IC,read OOC before joining)

Jandar smiled and looked at her as she bent over from the waist to examine the lower shelfs. He may be a man of peace both inner and outer, but he was still a man and that was one hell of a view.

"It looks good but I am still not sure what I am looking for," he said catching the little flirt with one of his own. "My name is Jandar, Iona, and it is a pleasure to meet you."

Her touch was electricfing this beautiful woman was very special. Perhaps much like him she had her own power. Perhaps her body was her power, it was killer, if he was less of a man than he was it might have been too much for him. His pulse still sped up for a moment.

Ivellias
Ivellias sighed and slipped down on to the sidewalk, slippiing on the large black trenchcoat and shifted his face and hands to look human, thougha bit gray as he stepped up to a cofee shop and grabbed something hot to eat and drink.
"dammit, now im bored"He sighed and withdrew the first container to stare at the sparkling blue substance he had collected, knowing anything with a drop or more of the stuff in them would start to be drawn to it like a magnet if he tarried so long."where the ----'s Lucian?i want to go home"he muttered to himself as he took a seat on a wooden outside bench that creaked minously under his weight.

Lucian
Lucian sighed and set Dracula down on the table, having finished it quickly. He watched the others moving around the library, his hearing catching their footsteps.
He reached out and snagged one of the comic books discarded by one of the otehr occupants and amused himself for a few minutes, indulging himself in the brightly colored pages.

"Well Jandar...it seems as though you have some soul searching to do...and I have work."

She headed towards the end of the aisle,

"Its been a pleasure though...I'm sure I'll see you again.."

She could feel it, under the surface of her skin.
Her darkness.
Her burden.
Last night's kill hadn't been enough to quench it, all the years she'd held it back...it had just been building up inside her, and now the dam had broken and she couldn't help herself.

She could hear the voices in her head...people vowing vengence...people willing to sell their souls for retribution.

She glanced back at Jandar, and she actually felt something...she'd thought her heart had forgotten how...

But she had an appointment to keep...

Mia watched intesnly as Rock's ear twitched for no reason. "Rock!" She whispered, "you ears!"

"I know," Rock muttered, in calm tone "My ears aren't twitching because of noise... They're twitching because there are strong forces here..."

"You mean, people kinda like us?"

"Yeah, but stronger... Alot stronger."

Rock's eyes slowly scanned the room slowly, "But I can't tell who they are... Too many people here now... But its obvious that they're here for a reason..." Rock stood up, and grabed his jacket. "Lets get out of here..."

"No." Mia now had that gleem in her eye.

'Oh shit,' Rock thought 'Here it comes.'

"I want to stay."

"Damnit!" Rock whispered. "Every time!"

"Good bye Iona, thank you for your help." He said as she walked away. She turned around and looked at him one last time.

"I certainly hope we do meet again." He knew he was a fool, letting her get away he would be even more of a fool if he did not find someway to connect with her at a later time.

"Perhaps we can meet for dinner? Maybe not tonight but sometime in the near future?" He hoped she said yes, it was not only the way she looked but for once Jandar's mind was at complete peace when she touched him. The voice left him and he was free. Now however, he had returned and would not be pushed aside so easily.

She stopped.

Dinner? A date?
It had been so long since she'd had any sort of companionship...might be nice...

She smiled and fished into her pocket withdrawing a small black business card with flowing silver script that listed her name and private cell phone number.

"Give me a call around eight, I know a great place uptown."

Then, without another word she left.

Outside a long black car was already waiting, the driver opened the door and she stepped in,

"you're late."

"I'm never late," she replied coolly, "I arrive when I mean to."

The man tapped the window and the car began to move.

"That was some nice work you did for us last night," he replied, reaching into his interior pocket he pulled out a fat envelope.
"So good in fact, that my associates have decided to pay you double you usual fee for this next job."

Iona reached out and took the envelope, it was packed with crisp hundred dollar bills.

"Go out and buy something nice.." he purred, reaching across to put his hand on her knee, "you always look so dark and dismal...I'd love to see you in a saucy red lowcut number." He licked his lips.

She casually took his hand and removed it from her leg, "perhaps." She replied, maintaining her tone, "who's the mark?"

He handed her a manila envelope that had been on the seat beside him.
"Just another suit who's in the way of a shift of power."

She nodded,"it will be taken care of."

"Excellent," he replied, tapping the window again to stop the car.

"May I ask you something?"

"Certainly," he replied eagerly.

"Why is it that you feel the need to have these people killed rather than just find a way to get them fired, or blackmailed or something?"

He chuckled, "why it's just more efficient this way my dear, he replied, "besides we have to keep lovely creatures like you in business don't we?"

Crap. I had to ask....

She smiled, and opened the door. "Consider it taken care of."

Lucian put the comic down, chuckling a bit to himself and stood, then paced across the room, examining books, passing two people,a womana nd a man,but tensed wiht his back turned to them, head tilted slightly,as if straining to listen to soemthing. He licked his lips softly and gave a small smile, showing growing fangs, giving one a lick as he continued down teh row as if nothing happened

She caught a cab and headed towards her loft, the day was young and she had plenty of work to do...

Once she'd arrived at home she glanced through the contents of the envelope.
Enclosed were several photos that depicted a rather young, ambitious looking executive. His dark blonde hair was kept short in almost a crew cut fashion, he had strong facial features and piercing eyes-his image alone had an amazing presence to it...no wonder they wanted him out of the way.
They'd also enclosed a copy of his week's itinerary...loaded with power lunches and charity functions.
It wouldn't be hard for her to infiltrate one of the events and take care of him...the wealthy were too easy to kill...not even a challenge. The police would blame stress, drug addictions, jealous mistresses or co-workers...she didn't even have to try.
She sighed and poured herself a drink despite the early hour and lit up a smoke.

She glanced back at the itinerary and noticed something she hadn't seen before.
Tonight, at nine p.m her target was scheduled to attend a charity auction...in the ballroom of the hotel adjacent to the bistro she'd told Jandar they'd dine at."

Perfect... She grinned, finished her drink and snuffed out what was left of the cigarette...she had some shopping to do...

Jandar stood and looked at his meager surroundings, haveing given up any thought of having a home before he found out about his past and his powers. He lived by performing various jobs and favors for people. He had purchased this small room for the night and planned to leave it in the morning. It had a bed, a TV, a phone, a bathroom and shower. It was more than he needed, a shower would be nice however. He looked at his watch, 6:30p still about an hour before he needed to call Iona. He wanted to give himself plenty of time to get to the place uptown. He was a little to far to walk, so a cab would have to do. The itch in his mind had returned, perhaps there were others nearby like Iona.

(also a few weeks before current time)

Krysta walked into the forest looking for her fairie friends hoping to hear the gossip they told, only to see them all fading in the clearing in the center where the tower was. Looking around she saw nothing but carnage. There were friends of her's that she played with as a child. Her eyes filled with tears making them appear darker. She crumbled onto the ground.. her hands felt the earth and it cried out, so many of the spirit creatures had become no more.

Her dainty finger dug into the dirt and as the tears trickled down her face, she vowed that she would find out what happened. Closing her eyes she prayed for help, and wished for guidance.

As the rain poured over her, she heard a faint cry, "Kry...sta.." She looked up from her prayers and looked around. There behind one of the trees was one of her tiny friends, kristoff. She hurried over to him.

"Ohh Kristoff, what happened?!" She picked up his small frail body. and saw that one of his wings was caught in an iron bullet and it was slowly causing him to fade.

"Krysta... I hhh.. I am so glad... you.. didnt.. c..co.. come to our party... last night... hhh .. hh..there... were a ... few...party crashers.. ugk ukhh " Kristoff managed to whimper to krysta.

Silent tears continued to stream down her cheeks. "at least I got to see you one laa ..a..st t..time.." He whispered to her as his body started to fade from her.

"She pulled the bullet from his wing and whispered to him"Oh I wish you would never leave me." kristoff smiled at her, " I wish I wou...ldnt n..neither"

(Current time)

Krysta walked off the airplane and looked around at this new place. She had never left Ireland and hoped that she could find what she was looking for here. The fae, told her that she would find her answers somewhere on the main land. She walked out of Heathrow and hailed herself a cab. She checked into the hotel, and then got ready and headed off to the old mueseums to look for maps and old relics.

Three hours and a whole lot of frustration later, she left the mueseum and took a walk around evening she decided to look for a pub where she could get a meal and some entertainment.

After about two or three blocks she found the bar called O'Flannery. She thought to herself just like home. She slipped in and found that it was Kereoke night and people could sing and play on the stage. She loved doing it at home so she wrote her name on the list and had her dinner while waiting for her name to be called.

She stood on the stage and sang a Celtic tune. It was that voice of hers that called attention. Pretty soon people were asking for another performance, and she ended up singing till closing.

After turning down dozens of invitations, she headed off to her hotel. Looking up she saw it very late and began to walk faster.

Iona lounged in her loft sipping a glass of Shiraz as she waited for Jandar to call.
The dress she'd bought was perfect, it clung to her curves like a second skin flaring out at the knee and slit up to the midthigh on both sides. Add a daring v cut neckline that showed off her ample bosom and a virtually non-existant back and you had an amazing black Versace gown. It had been a bit expensive but money wasn't really an object in her line of work.
A bit of glamour hid the garter that held 3 small throwing knives and the black clutch hid the small Browning she carried.
Her long dark tresses were swept up for the full effect, and a 2 carat diamond solitare hung on a slender white gold chain around her neck with matching earrings.

She rarely dressed this way...but it was nice once in awhile, she took another sip of her wine and lit up a smoke, he should be calling any minute if he was going to call at all....

Rock shivered as the man passed them, his hair was basicly standing on end. Without a moments hesitation, Rock grabed Mia and pulled her out of the area.

"Rock! What are you-"

"Shh!" Rock gave Mia an cold look. "I thought We agreed that you would stay out of trouble for at least a freaking week!"

"But R-"

"Ugh!" Rock turned his head away, knowing if he looked into Mia's infamous "Sad kitty" eyes, he would surely give in. "Listen to me, I'm not going to get in another fight, I'm sore from the last one. Or have you forgoten that little incident with that big ogre!"

"All right! All right! Have it your way," Mia grumbled. Outsmarting an fox wasn't an easy thing to do. "Okay, now what?"

"There's somebody I want to talk to."

His pocket watch switched from 7:29 to 7:30 and Jandar picked up the phone in his room and dialed the number. He had already showered, shaved and changed all that needed to be done now was find out where to go. He wore a white suit with a black tie and vest used only to bring out the white coat and pants. The silver chain the held his watch in place seemed only to accentuate the suit. He listened to the ring on the reciver and hoped she would pick up.

She answered on the second ring, knowing it was him,

"Meet me at Dimitri's at the corner of Augusta and 7th in 20 min, I can send a car for you if you'd prefer." She smiled and paused to sip her wine.

"I hope you're up for an interesting evening."

He was far down seventh street and Agusta was at least a half hour away by cab. Why didn't he stay uptown? He had been in this situation before, a good cab driver should be able to make it in twenty.

"No need to send a car," he said. "I wouldn't want to put you in a position like that. I shall see you in twenty, I'm looking forward to seeing you again."

Krysta shut the door of her hotel room and locked it. Suddenly she heard a squeeking when she looked down and saw that a small fairie was trying to pull himself through the mailbox flap on the door. She bet down and grabbed him them opened the flap to let him in.

Laughing she said, "You know you could have come through the window friend." The little guy turned around and looked up at his best friend, "Well if you wouldnt have left Ireland then I could have used the window in your room Krystaaaa," Giving Krysta the "Duh" look.

Krysta stopped laughing immidiately in her hands was Kristoff, weeks ago he faded right in her hands. She couldnt understand why he was standing in front of her now?

"H-how i-i-is the possible?! You faded!"

Kristoff rolled his tiny little eyes and said," Oh that!! I dunno I was faded one minute and the next I wasnt, I figured I probably was drunk and passed out then dreaming you came to me and I told you what happened at the party that day... well you knoe me I just got up then went to your house looking for your whiskey brew that you kept stashed .. you know for when I really wanted to have fun, but you were gone .. so I figured aI would look for you .. so I went to every tavern one everywhere and heard from some peopel you went over the ocean and came to london... I figuered I outa come too sine all my frineds are gone and I cant get drunk and have parties with anyone else.. then when I cam here I just started at one tavern and had a few drinks and then went to another and another and another until I goit a little giddy then I saw you walkin and I follwed ya and thought I outa let you know Im in town. "

He gave a huge grin that he always did when he wanted me to do something. she couldnt believe that Kristoff ahd said all that without even taking a breath. She didnt understand how he happened to come back from faded she was jsut really happy it happened.

She lifted him up and swung around in a circle and gave em a huge kiss in his face and she cried out, " Oh I am so glad your back."

"Can we go drinking now?" Kristoff looked up with pleading eyes. ., "I havent had a drink in a whole hour and I really worked hard to get here."

Bell-like sounds rang out as Krysta laughed loudly , " oh kristoff you never change do you? Well I am extremely tired so I am going to bed I was going to go to the grove tomorrow, you want to come with me ? "

Kristoff looked crest fallen, : His tiny eyes got glassy and they looked like littel jewels with diamonds ready to fall. "b.uuutttt I rrrrrrreaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllly rrrrrrrrrreaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllly wanted ......wanteed .......a..a drrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnk."

"I'm sorry kristoff I think I might have some of my meade I brought over in my bag .. you can have some of that."

Kristoff's eyes lit up like a christmas tree.. and beelined for her sachel.

She smiled at him, her biggest pain dissappearing when she saw him, how he came to be she had no idea , she was simply extremely grateful for it. She went into the bathroom and slipped into her satin red nightgown then burrowed under the covers for the night, feeling more at ease thatn she had since she had seen the massacre of her friends a few weeks ago.

Rock muttered something under his breath as he and Mia exited the library. Even though the streets were dead silent at the time, Mia didn't understand wjat he said, she couldn't understand Japanese, even if she was born there.

"What?"

"Nothing... Lets just go."

For the nex few minutes, Mia and Rock walked in utter silence. Rock's hands were jammed in his pockets, and Mia just following him. Of course, the utter silence was begining to bother Mia, as it always did. "Hey Rock."

"Hmm."

"Where exactly are we going?"

"Mmmph."

"Thats no answere!!!"

"A friend."

"Huh? But the only friend we have around here is... No! Not him! Anybodie, but him!"

Rock gave an small chuckle. "You catch on quick."

"I hate that guy!"

"What? Because of an little prank?"

Mia rushed infront of Rock and glared at him, basicly eye to eye. "A little prank? No, a little prank is an whoopie cushion, or stink bombs. But he almost had me killed!"

"Oh... Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah.... I almost completely forgot!" Rock laughed uncofortably for a moment, before Mia exploded.

"ITS NOT FUNNY!"

It was exactly nineteen minutes later when the cab pulled up to the resturant. As promised Jandar gave the man a fifty for a tip, he deserved it for the perfectly timed driving that allowed him to arrive on time. He stepped out of the cab and thanked him once more before he drove away. He looked around the resturant for his date and spotted her comming up the sidewalk. The itch in his mind dissappeared as his jaw nearly dropped from his face. She was increadible, someone this beautiful should always wear black dresses. He suddenly felt inadequate as a man to this very graceful and stunning woman. She was right, this was going to be an interesting night.

She smiled, "punctual. I like that," she walked over and linked arms with him, "and I'm glad you approve, I bought it with you in mind."

She led him inside the small intimate bistro, where they were immediately ushered back to an intimate booth away from the hustle and bustle of the main dinning room.

The server brought a bottle of chilled champagne and poured it into two tall flutes, then left them to talk and look over the menu.

"I come here often," she explained, "they know how much I desire privacy and I tip well so we have a good arrangement."

She raised her glass to toast, "so why do you think we're here tonight Jandar?"

He lifted his glass and without hesitation said, "Fate, don't you agree?" He completed the toast with her and took a drink. He wondered if the restuarant had an Oysters, but perhaps he would forgo that and let Iona order for them both. She seemed to be a lady that knew what she wanted and how to get it, so maybe it would be best for him if he held down his male need for control and be more subbmissive tonight. He had convinced himself that she was very special and perhaps with each others help could find out about his past. The voice had left and even the pain of his visions was less when she was this close. He barely even noticed when he picked up the glass the weapon it could become.

What to do now? he thought. I guess its time to get the small talk out of the way.

"So Iona, what do you do?" he said, interesed in what she had to say but he hated haveing to start dates with the same old questions. What do you do, where are you from, what are your dreams? Just once he would like to have an answer that was a little more exciting than an secretary. He was fed up with that, he needed someone fun and exciting in his life, and he felt she was the one to provide that. Whatever you do, he thought. Please don't say your a secretary.

She couldn't help but smirk as he set into the old small talk routine...

Should she tell him the truth?

"I make wishes come true," she replied...Geez that made her sound like a hooker...

"I do a lot of freelance work, I travel, meet interesting people, and the money's good."

She paused and took a sip of her drink, "...and I kill people on the side," she added with a smirk, not knowing if he'd take her seriously or not.

"How about you? I'm sure you lead an exciting life." She winked.

Ivellias had just got on to the private jet provided to him by The Family, when hsi phone rang."yeah?what is it?"He answered, saying it casually, knowing no one knew this number except for Lucian and The Family heads.

dear brother, charming as always.go on wihtout me,i just got a call from father,it seems some of the fae from before managed to survive and at least one or two are here already. You are to return home and ensure the safety of your cargo first, then await me to come back by commercial flight. If i am gone for more then 3 days wiht no word the Family will send you out with a search party.the usual.goodbye brother The phone clicked and went dead.Ivellias chuckled to himself and flipped his phone closed, having not interrupted once.
guess those are my orders He grinned and got into the jet and headed itno the cockpit, checking teh canister hidden in his chest as he tacied into teh runway.

He laughed for her sake at her comment. He could always see the truth when it was spoken to him. He did not want her on edge he wanted her to be comfortable around him. An Assassin did not go against his pacifist ways, he abhored fighting and knew that hiring an assassin was a way to avoid fighting in certain situations. It was a nessacary evil, one that for the most part, did not make the killer evil by nature. His life would seem boring compared to hers. He was a nomad and wonderer, looking for answers to questions he had all his life.

She trusted him enough after only just meeting him to tell him the truth, he should do the same.

"Well, have you ever seen the show Kung Fu? I am basically like Kain. I have only one purpose, to find out about my father and why I can do certain things. On the way to my answers I experience what this world has to offer. I have seen a great deal and have met many people, none of them can light a candle to you. You are by far the most interesteing person I have ever met."
