-hugs again-

Thanks for the grats everyone.

Mom n Baby n Dad spent a L-O-N-G night getting used to scheduales, but hopfully soon, it will be down to something that resembles SOME sleep. ;)

She is very quiet for the most part, and even her cries are quiet, and sound more like a squeak, then a shriek. One thing new bout her that the other two didn't do, is that she seems to love having a pacifier in. Rae kinda took to one, but never needed one, and Chris flat out refused one. (much to our annoyance, because instead, he had to have a bottle 5 times a night, and would only suck on it long enough to fall asleep)

The older kids both came home today, and Raegan met her sister for the first time. She loved helping to feed and burp her. Chris is more hesitant, and didn't like it when I was changing her, and couldn't pick him up to see. But, dad came to the rescue, and picked him up to watch. We got an offer this morning that we couldn't refuse. Hubby's aunt (who is an RN) is going to take Raegan and Gillian one night weekend, while Hubby's grandma takes Chris over night, so we have a completly kid free night. :)

I came home to a completly clean house, as my family swept in on Friday night, and stayed till we came home. They decorated the kids rooms up a bit, so they had new stuff to come home to. They caught up a bit on laundry, mopped the floor, and unpacked the 6 or 7 crates that were still packed up. They made cookies, and food for us to eat, and had the place smelling strongly of Apples n Cinnamon from my many holiday candles. The nrsery is adorable. We found really pretty irredescent faceted lights the day after Christmas to hang up for a night light, and they are alternating clear and blue, and shimmer very nicely at night.

She has her bassinet in the living room right now, because the blinds are dark blue, so the room is darker then the nursery. She seems to hate bright lights at all, and prefers to have her face covered with her hat, or her blanket if the light is to bright. I need to find curtains to hang over the blinds in her room now. She has a cute little dresser that has a changing table top, with a bright aqua colored pad. I am so excited. The last two were both bedroom sharers with me and hubby. This lil one has her own room, and it is adorable so far.

Hubby got her a cute pink stuffed bear that is SO soft, and is the same size as her. He got me a matching tie died one. Her closet is already over-flowing with outfits she will likely only wear once or twice before outgrowing. I never did understand why everyone buys 0-3 months for newborns. They don't wear em much, and outgrow em quickly. Last night, I went shopping, and got her two outfits in 3-6 months. Another good thing is that my neice just trned 4 months, so we will have some clothes coming from her.

Gillian has a head full of dark silky hair. It is probably half an inch long. What amazes me is that neither of the other two, my neices, me or my brothers and sister, or Hubby's family, has ever had a baby born WITH hair. We all have bald babies. I couldn't believe the hair she has. Most of the time, she is content to just lay down, and watch everything that is going on around her. She just stares at things, with big blue eyes. Her coloring is a bit darker, like my mom and sisters, where as Chris is as pale as can be, with pale blue eyes, and bleach blond hair. I guess she looks more like Rae in coloring, Rae has big dark brown eyes, and slightly darker skin, with dark blond hair.

For now, Hubby has the entire week off, and doesn't go back for 8 days, so he will be around to help. His aunt (the RN) also is going to be helping out a bit for the next month or so. On the days she has off (she works 3 12 hours shifts), she will pick Rae up from school, and come over to watch the kids so I can get a nap if needed, or just a break. She is also coming over tonight with something for dinner, and Nick's grandma is going to cover dinner tomorrow night. So, we have a few nights where we don't have to be running around, making food, etc.

Well, last night was another long one, but it wasn't nearly as bad. She fell asleep for good around 5am, and as I sit here and type, she is still asleep. We discovered yesterday that she sleeps better in her carseat, rather then her bassinet. We think it is because she is snuggled close, in a semi sitting position in the seat, whereas she is laying flat in the bassinet. She is in the same position in the seat as when she is being snuggled by us. She has slept so much better since we started doing that yesterday.

I have to calll today and get her in to see her pediatrician. She is supposed to go in for a checkup this week. Our first New Years together, we are spending at home with her, and a few friends are coming over. Just going to watch a few movies and such.

We had a nice long lazy day yesterday, didn't have to cook at all. I cleaned some, because the kids brought home loads of stuff that got sat in the living room and nursery, but otherwise, I took a long nap, and read for a bit. In between snuggles with my own little Beanie Babie.

My two older ones are both up now. Chris is being extremlly loud. How do you explain to an almost 3 year old that he needs to quiet done, because the baby sister he didn't want is trying to sleep? Answer? You don't. -sighs- But, hopefully, he will learn in time. I think she is waking up now, too. She just made a purring kind of noise, and stretched, but the beautiful baby eyes remain closed.

As much pain as she put me through, I absolutly love the little doll. I am also absolutly glad that we got me 'fixed' so that I can't have any more. 3 is enough, for me. :)

Congrats again Gilly. That is cool. What a Christmas/New Years gift........:)
