Gypsy Camp II

"I believe so", said fant. "But if their answer is no, I will go with you", he added reassuringly. He walked towards an area where two men sat discussing something with a pregnant woman. "Excuse me", said Fant,"I am terribly sorry to interrupt your conversation, but we were wondering if we could join your group of gypsies?" asked Fant, embaressed. "I can be a gaurd and am an experienced warrior. Mink, here", he said, pointing to her, "can cook a little", said fant, wishing with all his heart to at least settle down.

Mink

Walking up to the two men and the pretty pregnant woman I felt awkward and nervous. What if they said no? I didnt want to think about that.
At the words "can cook a little" I looked at them. "I can also read and write, I can teach your children to read or write if you wanted me to" I said.
I looked at them. Trying to read what they were thinking.
Twisting my hands together in nervousness, hoping they would say yes.

Thomas:

Frowning, Thomas started to wring his hands nervously. He had been such a fool, and now it would seem that he would never be forgiven. His stomach roiled with that same nervousness. He watched her as she spoke to Martine.

Mysteria

Our conversation was interrupted by a warrior and a young girl. I listened to them and nodded, we took in all who needed us. I told the man to seek out the blacksmith if he needed repairs and that we'd find a place for both of them to stay. I looked at the girl, I doubted she could cook, though someone who could watch over the children would be a bonus especially as winter came in. The children were a rambunctious lot. I smiled she'd have her hands full. I pointed out the women currently watching the children saying she should talk to her.

Mink

I could stay. I could not help let a big smile take over my face.
"Thankyou, Im so grateful, I dont know what to say"
I looked down at her tummy, I smiled at her.
I smiled at Fant, then thought, I reached up on my tip toes and kissed his cheek. Without him, I would be roaming around out there, getting into much more trouble than I could imagine. "Thankyou" I whispered.
I looked over towards the woman who was looking after the children. They were laughing, and giggling. Full of mischief and life.

"Twas my pleasure", he answered softly before walking off towards the blacksmith. An hour later, he came out of the shop, everything mended and repaired. He saw a horse and mounted it and rode into the forest to scout.

Mink

The woman looked rather harassed as the children were boisterous and full of life. I smiled and said hello. I told her I was new to the camp, and that I could read and write. When I asked her if she needed help looking after the children, she smiled broadly and said yes. She would love some help with all the children.
One of the smaller children came to me and snuggled into my legs. I smiled down at her. She had such beautiful brown eyes, and long tousled hair. One of the other children called her name and she ran off happily to go and play.
I sat down and talked to some of the children. I felt something drop down my back. I squealed..the children laughed. I wriggled around and a small lizard fell out of the back of my dress.
The older woman smiled at me and said "welcome" I looked at the mischievous children and grinned.
"Thankyou" I replied.
I saw Fant mount up on a horse and go off. I frowned. I didnt know if he was coming back - I hoped so.

An hour later, a riderless horse rode into camp, Fant's horse. Meanwhile, Fant had sent it off, after having been tracking a group of vagabonds for 10 minutes. He saw that they knew where the camp was and were heading towards it. he couldn't stop them alone, so he ripped off towrds camp. He was in it a minute later, not bothering to saddle the horse. He shouted in alarm. "Vagabonds, about 50, coming here. Will be here in about 30 minutes. I suggest that warriors get your things together and follow me. It will be much easier in the forest. They are also breaking royal laws and have knights' swords about them. Some of them look like they were once knights", he bellowed, people coming out of tents and huts to look at the warrior. Fant drew his sword as a few warriors began to come out of their tents. He thanked God that the vagabonds were too far away to hear him. He ran over to Mink. "Mink, I suggest that you get the children in a tent. It is safer there. Don't worry, if I go down in those masses of murderers, I'll at least take many of them with me", and with that, he smiled the grim smile someone flashes before death, even when it wass uncertain.

Mink

I heard the yelling and people were running around. It was Fant who was doing the most yelling. Get the children in...I was so confused.
I looked at the old woman and she yelled at me to round up all the children.
I stood there, watching the chaos around me. Not come back he said. I blinked, My Father. I frowned and cried.
Rounding up the children into a tent and watching the outside chaos.
My father. Could it be him. Oh..if people died it would be all my fault. Maybe I could talk to him. I waited and thought. But what if its not. I argued with myself, yes it had to be my father...it had to be. And because of me, the people of this camp were in danger. I had to do something.
But what.
The steel of the dagger grated against my skin. I took it out and held it tight in my hand. The blade laying against my skin, with the point facing the inside of my elbow.
Looking back I looked back inside the tent. They were all quiet.
I waited and listened.

Some of the warriors ran out to Fant. "Get your horses, they'll think we're the king's men!" shouted Fant, mounting his previous horse. With about ten warriors behind him, a few of them women, he spun his sword around in his hand, twirling the hilt, as he galloped into the woods shouting,"Don't worry Mink, it's not your father, and I will return". She heard the words clearly.

Mink

Hearing Fants words clearly I stayed by the tent. Watching the chaos go by, but staying close to the children. Watching the warriors go on their horses, hoping and praying that they come back.
Listening to the children, some were crying, some were wanting to go with their families.
Settling them all down the old woman started to tell them stories. I came inside the tent to listen as well.
The little girl that hugged my legs when I came up to the old woman, came to settle in my lap.
I stroked her cheek, and smiled. "dont worry it will be ok" I whispered.
She smiled up at me, then snuggled into me. I just wish someone would do the same for me.

Fant led the warriors through the ancient forest, careful not to make much noise. He gathered the warriors around him. "Attack on all sides. As it is the most dangerous, I will attack from the front", whispered Fant, before him and the others took up position. Then, as the first of the vagabonds walked into his sight, he sprang out, the other warriors doing as well. He quickly cut one's head cleanly off, and spun around, taking one's arm at the elbow. He sunk to the ground, bleeding to death. Fant and the others were like whirlwinds, dashing here and there, and leaving dead wherever they went. They were all sweating and cut and bruised in numerous places, but didn't pay any attention to it. At last, after about 35 had been killed, the vagabonds ran off. Fant saw a severely wounded warrior and ran over to him. He had a gaping hole in his side. Fant felt around it for a while and sighed. "You'll live, boy, and you are lucky for it. They cut only a few millimeters from your stomach. They gave your kidney a little scratch, but mostly it's just pain", he said, picking up the warrior, who couldn't of been any older than 21, and swung him over his horse. They rode back to the camp uneventfully. If any of them had expected a parade or at least a few people to welcome them, they were sadly dissapointed. There was no one. They were all in the tents. "You're warriors are back, now, we've dispatched most of the vagabonds. There's few more than us left", yelled out Fant at last. Finally, people began to come out of the tents and shacks, sighing happily. After he had strapped his horse to a tree and taken off his armor, he rushed to where Mink was.

Mink

OOC Damn your quick morgoth!

IC: Hearing Fants words I rushed out of the tent, with the excited and relieved chatter of the children behind her. Finding Fant coming towards her she felt releived beyond what she had expected.
When he got closer to her, she threw her arms around his neck.
"Im so glad your not hurt. I was worried. Thankyou" she said as she held him tightly.

OOC: Thank you, I think?

IC: He held Mink tightly and then pointed to all of the minor cuts and bruises. "Unless you can call this hurt", he laughed. "It wasn't like they knew how use their weapons", he said, the two of them moving into a tent. "They barely put up a fight. All they did was raise their weapons and try to hit us with them", explained Fant. He put his sword on the table and took off his shirt and began to investigate some of the cuts, exposing his greatly worked on muscles. His blue eyes twinkled kindly.

Mink

OOC I got my angel to work...heeheeheehee

He took my breath away when he held me that tightly. I bounced back from him. "Your hurt" I exclaimed. I started looking around for something to try and dress them.
I looked up into Fants eyes...they were sparkling. Part of me melted inside. I felt my cheeks redden at his smile. Then I didnt know where to look.
I went to him, looking up into his eyes," Im not used to this Fant. Im..." my cheeks burnt badly as I was trying to explain. "...Im not used to mens attentions" I stammered out, and quickly looked away.

"Don't be. I am surprised you're not. I mean, a woman like you..." he stammered, a smile at his lips. He leaned forward a little bit.

Mink

OOC Morgoth Im not too sure where to head with this..so if you dont like it...just tell me and I can edit it.

Unsure of how to accept Fants gesture, Mink leant forward to lean into Fants body. She smiled at him. "Thankyou" I whispered.
His body felt safe, and secure, and for the first time Mink was kissed, and kissed back.
Mink felt a warmth come over her, and she smiled up at Fant.
Looking towards some blankets she was given, she motioned Fant to sit down so she could tend to his scraches and grazes.
"Fant, tell me about your homeland. How did you come to kill a man?"

OOC
Im getting my hard drive expanded tomorrow which is Wednesday here. I hope to be back on line by Thursday US time.

I love it! thanks for taking the hint

OOC: Thanks for taking the hint! Hope you be back soon.

IC: After Fan kissed her, he sat on the bed like she said, and she began to tend his scratches. He took the healing without protest, and while she worked, he explained to her how he had come to this. "I was once the oldest son of the Duke of Gloster, and had great swording ability. Anyway, one day, one of my friends was found stabbed to death. Everyone knew who did it, but there wasn't enough evidence to kill him. It was a man named Black Burton. I tracked him down and hung him. I was disowned for this act against the law. I took my best weapons and my best armor, and went forth into the land. Since then, I have become a knight, and slayed many foul things, which I will not say here. Many evil people and many evil beasts were killed by my sword, but I have never struck down a righteous person", explained Fant. And when she was done treating him, they leaned forward and kissed once again, this time, probing each other's mouths with their tongues.

Mink

Life isnt fair I thought to myself as I listened to Fants story. He is a good man and he ends up getting treated like that.
Minks mind began to wander, as her hands tended to Fants cuts and buises. She noticed his body, the way the muscles carved grooves into his body. How is muscles contracted slightly at the discomfort, and how his skin shuddered at the coolness of the water. She could smell the sweat, and how she liked it. How it made her feel.
As she finished, she smiled and leant into him.
A little moan escaped her lips as they kissed, and then a deeper thoaty moan was heard as their tongues explored.
My legs began to grow week as I felt Fants tongue slide next to mine, then explore my mouth and teeth.
I pulled back, looking at Fant for a heartbeat, then looking away, not knowing where to look or what to do.
I was busy cleaning up, I could feel Fants eyes on me, but I didnt know what to do.
My mind was still reeling in the emotions and feelings that THAT kiss created in my being. I didnt notice his sheathed sword, and I tripped over it. I fell heavilly on the ground.
"ouch" I said. I started rubbing my ankle.
I smiled up into Fants blue eyes.
I sat there on the ground then layed on the floor.
Mink began to tell Fant about her homeland.
" I grew up on a large estate. I watched the New Forrest ponies graze on the lush grass there. It is a beautiful forrest. It has alot of shelter, and food to offer. I used to sit outside on hot summers days and watch the foals dance, and chase one another around the clumps of trees. I miss it - but I know I can never go back there. It would just be too dangerous" I smiled "maybe one day I will go back"
Turning to Fant "Whats your homeland like?"

"It was beautiful. It had large green, rolling hills. Hundreds of forests and peaceful villages dotted the landside. Of course, my city was a very large one. It could have competed with even York. It had crystal blue lakes, and high and breathtaking mountains", said Fant with a sigh.

Mink

Mink listened to Fant and watches his eyes sparkle and glint as he talked about his homeland. I saw sadness though.
"will you ever go back there Fant? To claim what is yours I mean?"

"I would love to. But I can't. I would be forced to kill my family or make them submit to me. I would have to spoil the peace and beauty with war. I do not wish them to become like me, warriors", said Fant, sadness now obvious in his eyes.

Mink

Looking deep into Fants eyes she could see the sadness. At this she frowned. She didnt like seeing the sadness in his beautiful blue eyes.
Looking around the tent, she found some things to sit on, and offered Fant her hand.
She wasnt sure of all the new feelings that she felt, the stirrings inside her were all a mystery, but somewhere deep inside her, she knew that Fant could help her sort them out, and learn.
I smiled at him, hoping the smile would ease some of his sadness. "I have never been to York. I have heard it is beautiful but cold."

She smiled and it melted away the sadness. He smiled too. "It is, since it's located so far north, the temperature is crisp. But the city is beautiful, for a city", said Fant, his eyes sparkling with mirth.
