Hey, I'm rather shy about asking this. But I find it better to ask strangers than speak to people I know personally, I get more honest opinions.

I wax down there for my boyfriend, I love the pain but I do it because obviously its more of a turn on for the guy.

However i find it leaves marks when the hair grows back, and i often get a fair few ingrown hairs that make it look worse. Its rather embarrasing but I can't shave because it takes too long and it gets very irritating. I stay with him for a few days on end, and obviously it grows back quickly.

Is there any help that could be given? I really want these marks to stop and go away.

been there ...

I think my tips are actually from a lit how-to...

1 - be scrupulously clean when you do it.

2 - Wash with warm water before shaving, hairs will be softer that way

3 - Use a new blade every time. Bacteria grows on the used blade, causing the ingrow hairs. Store new blades in a dry place (not the bathroom). If waxing, keep it carefully and buy small amounts, to make sure it is not getting contaminated (same reason).

4 - if waxing, shave after the wax. Shaving removes the dead skin and actually prevents ingown hairs

5 - if getting wax/blade irritation, don't use clothing that rub the area, and consider using a soothing lotion. if ingrow hairs are infected, consider using something medicated, even if it stings a little.

6 - exfoliate, as it has been already mentioned

7 - don't pull out the ingrown hair. If you have bad one, gently coax the hair out, but leave it in place. If not, the little hole heals closed and you will simply get another one.

Good luck!

Wow ^_^ Thats great advice, I've been going about it all wrong.
Thankyou so much, your very helpful

My girl has the same problem as you mentioned so she just trims things really tight and short. Solves a lot of probems and is still damn sexy!!

What about trimming? I mean... well probably should have started a new thread, but I tried trimming for the first time and I tried to cut it as shorter as I could. I liked the result (I haven't showed it to my boyfriend yet... ) but the real surprise was when I stood up and walked. The short hair give me a terrible itch as I move. My hair is not very soft, what do I do? It tends to feel like soft niddles all over the place... It's nice when my boyfriend is around but I really can't concentrate even when I'm walking down the street!! It's absolutely frustrating!!!

The only thing I would add is to shave (if you shave her) with the grain or lay of your hair, not against like you would with your legs.

Bikini Zone has a great soothing lotion.

I shave myself, but I just heard about this new device called an "Emjoi Intimate." It's kind of like the old epilator concept, but supposedly they've refined it & made it much less painful. I haven't tried it myself, but if anyone else has, I'd be interested in hearing about the experience. I did a search on the web & it's available at Amazon & some other places for $25 or $30 US. Not that expensive if it really works.

I had my first brazilian in April. Read about it here

I was surprised at how little it hurt, and loved the results. Two months later the hair isn't as thick as it was before, and I'm ready for another one ^^ (except I got my hood pierced yesterday and now I think I'll wait a little while before letting someone else down there...)

thanks everyone. ill read both those threads.

chicklet how long would you say you can go between them? you said 2 months and it isnt as thick. how long before it really started growing back and you were thinking about getting it redone? also congrats on the piercing. i hope you have fun with it once it's healed :)

I've been thinking about getting it redone for at least a couple weeks, but since I don't have a partner I figured I'd just save my money.

Solution

My wife had the same problem. We have an open marriage and some of the guys that she goes on dates with, love the smooth pussy effect.

When she shaves in the shower, using a fresh razor, as soon as she dries off, she just applies a dab of 1% Cortisone Cream [generic brands work just fine] and that prevents the irritation that usually accompanies the shave! :nana:

nonono!!! when you wait for the hair to fully grow back in before re-waxing, it hurts like CRAZY. Ask me how I know this  If you keep up with the waxing, doing it when the hair is 1/4 to 1/2 inches long, you will be able to go much longer between waxes eventually.

Also, TendSkin supposedly helps with this problem

DON'T let your boyfriend do it! Will take twice as long and hurt wayyy more.

Seriously if your considering getting a brazilian go to a professional, they will make it as fast and painless as possible.

Oh for pete's sake! What's the fun in THAT? It's supposed to hurt, the more the better!

Oh, wait... I'm a sadist.

Nevermind...

T3WD's June Demo (done June 2nd) was "The Art of Erotic Hair Removal" and covered shaving and waxing on both males and females "down there". It was AWESOME! Makes me want to go out and get a waxing kit...

A straight razor...

A hot lather machine... :nana:

Skin Care

I remember reading something about how dog saliva has natural antibiotics... :p

Seriously, though, I love a natural woman... My wife's 'down there' hair is adorable, and has little swirls.

I've never been with a woman who was completely shaved. I think it would make me feel like a pervert.

Also, be careful to keep your Brazilian trimmed, or it will become a Vullet. (Vaginal Mullet)

Brazilians are great - an hour of pain for 6 weeks of smoothness. Excellent trade-off, if you ask me.

Here's some uncharted territory for some people - instead of waxing, try sugaring. (www.waxwaxwax.com for locations...) It's (as I've heard) less painful than waxing, and the benefits are enormous. They pull the hair out with the grain, rather than against it with chemical waxes.. It's composed of sugar, lemon juice, and water, so good for the skin... And uses no strips of any sort.

I am a male as u can see, and I love when a woman is shaved. I've been shaving a little over a year now and enjoy the feeling. I usually shave every other day to the longest 3 days. Of course I shave all the hair off the front and off my ball sack. How many woman like there men shaved and if there other men that do shave reading this have u tried or though about getting waxed???

I had the same problem - and have just switched from Full Brazillian waxing to SIPL (a new version of laser - much better than the old kind)
For me, the pain is NOTHING by comparison to waxing! there is no 'top of the skin sting' just an instantaneous sting at the hair root that lasts a milisecond - as long as the light flash!! :nana:

You shave first (really well, coz the light beam heats the hair root - less hair = less pain.....and the result is supposedly as close to permanent as you can get. (for that reason, I leave a little 'landing strip' at the top to allow for when I get older) ;)

What I like best is that you can maintain with shaving in-between treatments!!!! With waxing, my SO and I didn't like the visual 'untidiness' of the regrowth stage - this treatments solves that problem - and I have had no ingrown hair problems - one or two minor ones - but because you're maintaining with shaving - the area is exfoliated and they don't get a chance to develop. I use a nice mix of witchhazel, sorbolene, lavendar oil and tea tree oil to moisturize and keep bacterial infection away which works a treat!!! :) (I used the same thing with waxing, and it worked to keep ingrowns getting infected - but it doesn't exfoliate, so ingrowns still happened with waxing)

I've only had one treatment so far (of a series of 6) and after that they say maybe once every 6 months to a year. ( I might take more coz of hormone issues)

Here's the thing - the lighter your skin and the darker your hair - the better it works. For me, that's perfect, but not so great for others I'm sure. Hormones (Polycystic Ovaries) or super strong hair etc like mine can mean more treatments - but what I like is that it's ultimately going to be Little or NOTHING and that won't take years to achieve.

I'll let you know how I go - but so far so good! oh, and it's not quite as um...embarrassing (- in that the therapist doesn't need to pay so much attention to your bits - and it's quicker.) I used to need some trauma recovery time after waxing - but with SIPL I am happy and sociable right after!

If you HATE pain and are really sensitive - take an iboprofen or paracetamol with lots of water beforehand and avoid caffeine the day before and the day of your treatment.

Oh - guys - you can do it too - but you might shoot blanks for a coupla weeks.

Hey...

Just a thought about the in-grown hair problem.
Hair like anything else will usually grow in the direction that it is cut. If all you do is cut in a downward direction the slice of the hair follice will tend to grow in that very direction affording at least some hairs to grow under the skin.
To get around this for every downward stroke make one upward. It squares off the cut end and tends to cut the follice closer to the skin as well.
Also for the softening of the skin as well as whatever hair is left, you can use a homemade lotion out of crushed quince apple seeds and witch hazel, it stimulates the skin as it refreshes and smoothes both skin and hair.

What about good old fashioned electrology, often referred to as electrolysis? Sure, it takes a while, but it is the ultimate denuding solution.
