Glad you are feeling better hon as for the bed care....I know how uncomfortable being there for an extended period time can be and it just feels nicer when its fresh.....no idea on the life of a pillow either....

i question the pillow thing too. I bought some good ones from Foleys and within a few months they were flat. Have seriously thought about trying one of those theriputic (sp) ones. I have about 6 regular ones I use now. Time to replace some.

Liegh - great recipe - will have to try it. I usually boil the chicken and make my own broth as canned is usually just tooo salty. We do alot of soup in the winter when its cold. Not much for soup on a hot day.
Please lift our family up. my step-kids mom got out of jail and had first visitation today - about 2 hours. Kids were kinda indifferent about the visit. Pray she has changed and will step up for them.

Thanks for the kisses and welwishes. As far as chiro, yes I see one every month. And the buckwheat pillows, those are fine when you want to heat them in micro for a short time, but not something I would sleep on.

Here is something I just found on a website about bedding and health issues...
They say that pillows should be replaced about 2-3 years for a quality pillow and every year for a budget pillow. Duvets and pillows build up large quantities of dirt, dust, dead skin and dust mites, so if you don't wash them every 6 months then you should replace them.
That is right... YOU SHOULD WASH THEM OR GET RID OF THEM. Makes sense when you think about all the dirt, dust, dead skin and dust mites and all the other creepy crawly things in the bed with you... ewwwwww....
Ok now I have to go strip the bed and bleach everything....

Hey Guys,
I need your prayers. My mom is not in the best of health. I will try to not bore you with too much details. She is living alone, altho I have a nurse going in and checking on her, and she suffers from emphysema and slight dementia. She is also loosing too much weight and she just found out she has shingles. Docs are doing the best they can. My brother, who lives in the same area, is not doing the best he can in taking care of her. Some how some way, I am going to have to convince her to give up her home and go into an assisted living place. It frustrates the hell out of me that I cannot do more then I am but I live 12 hours away. I was just down there a month ago, helping her get a handle on many things and getting her to her doctor who she had not seen in months. And now, she has lost 6 pds and the shingles just happened. The weight loss I think is because she does not take the time to take care of herself as she should.
This is really tearing me up as I feel I am not doing enough, but I know that what I am going to have to do is have her in one of those places. Please be praying for wisdom, and for her to see that this would be the best thing for her. She is struggling with all that has happened to her in the past year and she is not doing well with it. As you can guess, it is a pretty depressing thing. I would like my brother take care of it, but the two of them do not get along that well, so I am going to head back down there soon and see if I can convince her to do this.
Anyway, I just needed to let this out as this has been eating me up for days. If any of you out there have had to take care of her older parents, you know what I am talking and dealing with. Thanks.....
