Nope and your right.... 1 million with no home or jobs. And people are blaming the mayor, the gov and Bush. But I mean come on...... We have NEVER faced this kind of disaster. It is really easy to point a finger and play Monday QB. The main thing we need to do is focus on getting them out, getting them help and helping them to rebuild. We can go back and look at what failed and what didn't work. Just like 9-11, this is the first time something has happened to us ... this BIG at least. They were set up and ready to go, but not in the strength that was needed, because we had no idea what to expect... Even Jim Cantory of Weather Channel said, I expected a storm surge but not like this. No one did. And no one expected the Levy to break. Yet I was listening on the radio about this and they knew it needed to be fixed since the 70s.... but the reason why the money didn't go to fixing them, is because the mayor and gov offices spent it on tourism.
So the ball got dropped in many places over many years and to just say it is Bush's fault or the major's fault or whoever, we need to get over that and focus on what is URGENT!

Amen Spenser.....I could not have said that any better......the main thing is to recover all the ones that are alive...then go to do the rest of the things at hand.....It is going to be a very very long time before anything will be close to normal down in that area.....there lives have been changed forever......and I hope and pray that everyone gets the medical help they need....they are going to have more medical problems then anyone can realize......I hope your son gets help and the rest of your family.....God bless them all...and God bless you!!!!​

Dear Lit Friends

Well, Guys...
Real Life has really raised up it's head and is hitting me full force. Thankfully it is not bad stuff.

Just in one week I have been hired by 2 companies to work at their places a few days a week. On top of that, I have been also hired to do contractional work by a computer company to handle there overflow. And on top of that, I am starting my radio work in the next month and I hope to have about 10 - 15 radio stations on my roster to do production work. And I have been contacted by two businesses to help them with their designs of their websites.

With all that is going on there will be very little time to hang out like I used to. That is sad in the fact that I will not be able to talk to you guys daily like I used to, but at the same time... I AM WORKING!

I will pop in when I can, but there is really no reason to keep this thread going.
I would like to see the Tree continue if people want it to. It would be nice to see others there for other people. And if I do pop in, it will be for the Tree.

If any of you would like to keep in touch, you can send me emails to spenser41@yahoo.com I may even start a yahoo group like the Tree...

Yes Leigh, you are a good friend and I am not never coming back... but with all this work, I just do not see me getting on line that much... except to do emails, which is why I put down the email addy.

I am sure I will be back from time to time, but since I will be working many hours day and night... I just can't see me being on Lit that much...

Doesn't mean I don't care or want to cut everyone off... But if I am at people's stores during that, that leaves the nights and weekends to do the computer repair stuff as well as voice work for radio. So... I am going to be one busy man... which I love it that way... and as a friend said... I will keep me out of trouble LOL....

Looks like that 2nd job just came open again.. LOL... And I am working my tushy off...
It is only for 2 days a week so I think I can handle that.

Man the hurricanes are crazy! I am so glad I left Fla and the coast. I think the ONLY way to live on the house is in a house boat. So when the storms come you just start the engine and haul butt out of the area....

(and then you get to go to the islands down there any time you want to as well)

Mmmm maybe I should think about that when I retire.... ROTFLMAO RETIRE????? THat is a good one.... I can't afford it!
