Happy Hour in Litland Revamped

Absinthe. Hey I'm all about that. But after my dinner wine, I've had a couple of Rye Manhattans. Kind of a go-to for me. Made these with 6 year rye, Antica vermouth, Amaro and Turkish Tobacco bitters. My current fav.

I share your passion for rye. I enjoy the sharper, spicier favour notes of rye as compared to the slow gentle burn of a bourbon. Given the choice, I'll take an Old Fashioned over its sweeter Manhattan cousin. Cheers!
I make Old Fashioneds with Rye as well. My little twist is that I use homemade maple syrup instead of simple syrup. Some don't, but I like to muddle the orange slice and cherry in the shaker before adding other ingredients and shaking. Since I have a lot of maple syrup around, I use it as a sweetener in a lot of cocktails. Cheers.

I can't let you drink alone. Clyde Mays Alabama Style Whiskey over an ice ball. (Halfway thru #2)

Shiner Bock in the pool. Probably the last week it will be open.

Ribeyes grilled over charcoal tonight. Paired the steaks with a Chateau Belle Coline Grand Vin 2019. Classic Bordeaux, big French Red with front notes of dark fruit, a mineral presence and a peppery finish over smooth tannins. Cheers Perverts!

Friday night dinner was a refreshing ceviche paired with a Spanish white wine. A 2023 Camino de Navaherreros Blanc. A new one for me. Bright notes of green apple and notes of lemon? citric fruit? Not sure but bright, lively and lots of fun.

Lazing away a lazy afternoon with an oak aged apple cider made with apples from in and around my neighbourhood! Sweet apple flavour, dry crisp finish with hints of oak and vanilla. Perfect summer time sipper!

As the sun sets a refreshing, cool summer breeze calms the day. Sipping away on a small-batch, bourbon-inspired wheated corn whisky. The whisky is aged in maple syrup barrels giving the spirit a soft, sweet, gentle heat that lingers on the tongue. Cheers perverts!
