I believe the Harris campaign should highlight the Trump campaign’s attacks on the elderly, point out the hypocrisy and ageist nature of those attacks, point out the new paradigm of the election with Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate, and reinforce the Democratic Party’s commitment to protecting ALL Americans’ voting rights.

Vice President Harris must maintain the Biden/ Harris coalition that won in 2020 - which included older voters of ALL political stripes.

Hersh’s pervasive use of anonymous sources has given many an editor heartburn. Still, this story also is grounded since Joe Biden was facing pressure from all angles to step aside following his disastrous June 27 debate. His polling began to crater, placing states like Virginia in play. Donors withheld their cash; Hill Democrats poured out, calling the president to step aside.
